Celine0384 Posted March 21, 2026 at 11:35 PM Posted March 21, 2026 at 11:35 PM I just looked and thank you. I actually saw the difference. she was prettier the first night and her hair was smoother. If you have other examples, I would appreciate it. It makes me want to watch it. It's been 8 years since I last saw this show. I love this period so much.I have the impression that this Céline no longer exists Quote

Abodi2002 Posted March 22, 2026 at 01:59 AM Posted March 22, 2026 at 01:59 AM That If You Asked Me To performance is a good one. You can tell she's struggling a bit toward the end but it's certainly an early performance of the track. The backup singers can be heard in more lines than usual. What's great about it is it's complete. Most TV performances cut out the second verse. I think only two or three have it. So for Paris 1999 I know a DVD and VHS were released. What are the chances the TV version was actually a radio broadcast or something else? I find it strange video doesn't seem to circulate at all, and the broadcast seems to have some songs randomly cut, and or completely missing. The end of the reason and beginning of power of love are cut as well, and the audio quality is kind of half stereo but not quite. Even with all this, I still prefer it over the DVD. Whoever was in charge of the sound did not do great there. Yes, her vocals were still weak that day, but the DVD makes them sound even worse. Quote

I’m pretty sure it’s March 14, 1992 according to the Reelinintheyears database. I have no idea what event this was because it doesn’t say anywhere but it lists there being 3 songs, IYAMT, LCMM, and WDMHBN. Total of 20 minutes. Maybe they will post the rest of it. Quote

It would be nice if they did. Damn, I would love a 1992 performance of either of those other songs... if you asked me to was also done two times on the Tonight Show in 1992, one of those being very early on, but I can't remember the exact date. I'm almost positive it was March though. Quote

Was it really shown on TV? Also this is footage from the first night and only a few parts of that show are included in the official DVD, they mainly used footage from second show. So it's great to see more from the other show! "Tell Him" was not shown on TV. The TV broadcast was the same as the DVD, minus "Je crois toi" and "I'm your Angel". It had the full musical introduction to "My Heart will Go on", too, that was later cut from both CD and DVD. And it didn't have that silly blurry effect on some songs. At the same time it was on TV, the concert was broadcasted on radio. I recorded both at the time, but unfortunately I did not keep them... 1 Quote

I wonder if my CD is the from radio version then. I always presumed it was a rip from the TV recording, but maybe not! Tell Him is intriguing in that they featured it in the TV promo trailer, almost like they did intend to include it at that point. I did hear a fan theory that it would have been one too many English language songs for a French release (that already did include quite a few English songs) and they had wanted the big "duet moment" of the show to be with Jean-Jaques Goldman, so dropping it then became a logical decision. I guess we will never know. Maybe someday, whatever footage they did have from night 1 will end up on YouTube out of nowhere. Quote
Abodi2002 Posted March 22, 2026 at 01:32 PM Posted March 22, 2026 at 01:32 PM Thomas, didn't you have the TV broadcast on a VHS, or am I not remembering correctly? Both of those songs mentioned are missing from your CD, but I also heard of a Paris audience recording from the second night. Sadly it was never shared. I know Thomas had audience recordings from one of the shows but sadly didn't save them. Quote

Yes I had it on VHS but it was recorded in France and the format over there is SECAM, which the French TV networks used. In the UK, we use PAL format. So I could play the tape but it was in black and white and distorted. I don't have this anymore, it was lost sometime through the years. There is a bootleg audio from one of the Paris shows, it was shared on a site called "s'il suffisait d'aimer Celine Dion" waaaaaay back in 1999 but I didn't save them, I wouldn't have thought about them going offline or not being available when I was really young and the Internet was fresh and new. I don't think it was the full show either, it was only certain songs. I remember hearing THLAL and comparing it to my Indianapolis CD and realising it was playback lol... Separately, there is a fan video bootleg of one of the Paris shows listed on the old trade site but I have never seen that from anyone or ever shared. Quote
Abodi2002 Posted March 22, 2026 at 01:50 PM Posted March 22, 2026 at 01:50 PM Also in one of the short trailers shared, I think JSP sounded different to me. I'm listening to the TV version now but haven't quite gotten to that song. DUAN has one line in the first verse that was edited in some way for the DVD. I have it on google drive if anyone wanss the link to it. I had Thomas send me the link to it some time ago because I figured youtube would remove it Quote
Abodi2002 Posted March 22, 2026 at 01:53 PM Posted March 22, 2026 at 01:53 PM Any chance that site with the partial show is still available in archives somewhere? If I knew how, I'd be willing to try to track it down, but I'd imagine that site hasn't been updated since before I was on the internet Quote
Thomas Posted March 22, 2026 at 03:07 PM Posted March 22, 2026 at 03:07 PM Yes I did find the site, it was www.suffisait.com, so a nice URL for the time. I knew it originally as www.chez.com/suffisait. Going back there 27 years later is amazing, I have so many memories of those early Celine sites. We can see it says site created by Sébastien Bernaud, I do remember him. I downloaded his photos from the Stade de France and printed them out, because I didn't take any photos at my show. You can still see some of his photos in the gallery, I remember them very well. I will send you his email address via PM in case it still works. In the news section for August 1999, it says: "As you may have noticed, the MP3s from the Stade de France concert are no longer available. The lucky ones will have already downloaded them. My service provider has—once again—deleted them. I hope to be able to reopen the section within a day or two." Then in October: "The MP3s from the concert at the Stade de France are available again. That's it—you can now find all the MP3s in the Multimedia section." So he did still have them! But of course those links don't work now. Quote
