I love the way she sings Because You Loved Me here. Her softer voice is really beautiful.

 

Yes! And what I like back in 2003-2009 era was her singing. She’s very calm when singing songs like she’s not in a rush unlike her recent performances. Now, she’s cutting it by words instead of a one long singing of a sentence and she’s like speeding up the words… like she’s in a rush to go to the long notes.

I always thought that Celine would end up going more of a Barbra Streisand route with her career. Where she would release a Duets album, from the vault albums, etc. I also thought Celine would do more holiday albums.

 

But Celine's clearly made live performance her top priority. Which is also wonderful.... it's just different than what I thought would happen with her career-wise.

 

I think it's spectacular what Celine's achieved with her concerts / Vegas residencies. What she's achieved is iconic. But I do find myself wishing she would spend more time celebrating her own recordings and creating more music in the studio again.

 

It would be so lovely if Celine ever did what Babs does... and go track-by-track, discussing her music.

It's been interesting to watch a lot more of Celine's French interviews, because Celine has actually talked much more in depth about her music / voice / career than I realized. It's just a rarity in her English interviews.

 

Maybe once she's a bit older she'll do more reflecting and celebrating her catalogue. :)

& the good thing about Celine being quiet these days is... I get to spend more time listening to other artists I love. I'm on a big Barbra kick these days, and it's such a delight. Talk about an amazing career!

Barbra looks amazing and I am so glad she stays politically active....something we will never see Celine be, at least actively and openly. It's not for everyone.

 

I think good management would have had Celine release more holiday albums and a duet album. About duets, though, I know we all would probably like a duet album but over the years I actually don't think there are that many artists who would pair well with Celine in a duet. Or ones that I personally am dying to hear.

 

I would take another Barbra and Celine duet! Part 2!!! Everyone would live for it.
