I hate to bring this up because I know the topic is touchy, or maybe I'm being ignorant, was NPPSM lipped at Eurovision? It sounds oddly similar to the actual performance.

I am pretty sure it was not

You look for it you can even find the after-win performance, and it sounds different as well. Also I don't think you can use playback tracks for vocals at ESC

Oh is it? That makes sense. It's the different lyrics what surprised me. Though I do have the La Voix Du Bon Dieu LP and I don't recall listening to this version, I'll definitely give it another listen!

It is the first version of the song that was released on a single in Canada before "La voix du bon Dieu" album was even made. The lyrics were later rewritten for the album. The single released in France in 1982 (which cover is used on that video) contained the new lyrics.
