Matias Posted November 18, 2018 at 08:59 PM Posted November 18, 2018 at 08:59 PM Today I share two rare performances. In 1994, Céline came to Europe to promote 'Des Mots Qui Sonnent' in France as well as to continue with The Colour Of My Love Tour. Here she performs Think Twice (only time she performed the song in France?) and Ziggy. Now I think this could perfectly be from September of 1994, coinciding with her concerts at the Olympia theater. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iz3NuA4LIgk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ewf3-ZyBMOQ Well she IS wearing the same Olympia outfit LOL 1 Quote http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_maic6m257V1rbfceqo2_250.gif"No no, put it back..."

scielle Posted November 19, 2018 at 04:55 AM Posted November 19, 2018 at 04:55 AM So I was watching En direct de l'univers with Yann Perreau last night, and one of the songs they did was Belle from Notre Dame de Paris. It reminded me how obsessed I was with that show in the late 90's and how much I wish someone (hello, Netflix, you there?!) would make a movie-musical or live TV musical version of it. And while the English translation paled in comparison to the French, at this point I'll take anything. And to reminisce, here's a bit of NDDP from Celine - And for those of you in London, a guy I use to do student theater with (who is now a Broadway producer) is currently staging a production of it in London. In original French, with English subtitles. https://londoncoliseum.org/whats-on/notre-dame-de-paris/ 2 Quote

You can read the synopsis here ("Vivre") but basically it's Esmeralda's last love-lorn "aria" of the show; nothing much happens I didn't realize she had sung it live on stage! Quote
mirage Posted November 20, 2018 at 07:50 AM Posted November 20, 2018 at 07:50 AM She did a playback at the Millennium Concert. I think it was the first song after the countdown, so her first one in 2000. Thats the only time she 'performed' it on stage if I remember correctly The French version charted at 20 in France and 12 in Belgium - not too bad. Tom_London_Fan Posted November 20, 2018 at 02:19 PM Posted November 20, 2018 at 02:19 PM Hahah, just came across this! Mariah Carey is still trying to throw shade Celine’s way with regards to the 1998 Divas Live performance. For 20 years she’s been using the excuse that she was respecting the Queen of Soul when it was fact she simply couldn’t bring the goods 😂😂 4 Quote

mirage Posted November 20, 2018 at 10:55 PM Posted November 20, 2018 at 10:55 PM Almost forgot she performed it a few times. Shame she doesn't sing it anymore, could be a great addition. scielle Posted November 24, 2018 at 06:43 PM Posted November 24, 2018 at 06:43 PM Rufus is amazing. Musical genius. I wish one day they collaborate. Definitely. That'd be something. Off-topic (sorry!) but currently listening to the world premiere broadcast of Rufus' latest opera - https://www.cbcmusic.ca/on-airHe's so wildly talented. I do wish he'd write something for Celine - his style is so fitting for what she does (well, at least musically, if not lyrically!) 1 Quote

scielle Posted November 25, 2018 at 08:53 PM Posted November 25, 2018 at 08:53 PM Well, Buble is back (and I look forward to the full interview on Q tomorrow), so if he does a special again this year, it would be fitting to invite Celine back. Quote
