The "I wanna dance with somebody"-clip is from the giant Goodbye party after the last performance of AND on Dec 15, 2007. I don't know if this club still exists, but at that time it was owned by Céline and René.

Still don't know what was she thinking LOL I mean, you were able to see her thong! and she was doing a Disney song...how Rene agreed to it is beyond me, when he thought the 1997 Chanel dress she wore at the Oscars was too revealing!

She said that in person it was totally black but I guess with the strong lights and the photgrapher flashes it appeared see through in the photos lol

And what happened then? She wore the dress she wanted. I constantly read fans say "how did Rene allow this" but I mean, he wasn't her dictator. She can do what she wants.

Maybe it's my screen but I don't see anything too revealing in the dress.

Okay, now I see lol.

I've seen this picture before and never noticed anything, only now cause I was looking more closely.

She probably didn't realize it'd be that transparent on camera and under strong lights, or she did and just didn't care lol.

No one is saying Rene had to give "permission" to Celine (she changed her looks a A LOT during her career and I don't think Rene was considered in every desition making about her hair/clothing BUT Rene was his manager and husband so I'm sure he gave some opinion about her looks, not so much as a boyfriend/husband but as manager and thinking about her career, in 1993 Celine was JUST getting started in the US and her looks was pretty demure and still was for several years after that, thats why she picked that dress to sing a song from a Disney movie<<<

In that video posted just now she says it wasn't a revealing dress in person so she or Rene weren't expecting anything to be seen.

My comments earlier were not just about this particular event or dress, it was in general. There's no denying Celine has many conservative fans who are used to a specific image from her and anytime she does anything too "risky" or "unlike" her they resort to comments about how she wouldn't have behaved this way if Rene were alive or how Rene kept her "in line". Some fans feel that Rene as her husband had some say over her.

Perhaps my comment wasn't relevant for this exact case but it still stands.

Celine has proven to be very in control and very happy with her body and I admire that, but that dress looked "trashy" to me, even "riskier" dresses like the 2003 AMA's or the photo shoot for W magazine looked more "elegant" that thong and no bra was like...really?

one last comment on the black dress.

It reminded me of that episode of Friends where Monica sings karaoke and she thinks everyone cheers for her because she has a great voice but it's actually because under the stage lights they can see through her shirt and she isn't wearing a bra lol.

Celine said she wont ever be with anyone besides Rene because she still goes to bed with him she still sings for him she sees him everyday through her kids so shes still married to him and will grieve him for the rest of her life those were her words

 

Im friends with Celines neices and they even said that Celine doesnt ever want to have another relationship because it pains her still everyday to live without rene because she loves him and misses him so much so she will be with him forever plus she has her children forever
