This is the best version by far of RITD I've seen! I'm so mad she got rid of it, because the and Mr. Paganini are my favorite covers in the show. Her voice sounded amazing in this (and believe me, and I'm not saying it still doesn't!) and this is just... Amazing!

 

I prefer this version - visually! I looove when she has so much fun while singing! Pure joy - even if the song isn't so joyful

 

I would love to see this performance live!

That was funny -- I definitely wondered if they'd planned that ahead of time. It seemed almost silly for Rene to call it a secret when Celine had said about a million times that that was the night of their first kiss. Rene's expression was pretty funny . .he was probably thinking, "Why is she upset? Didn't she publish a whole book where she went into detail about the whole 'You'll be the first . and the only' conversation"?

 

But they were so sweet together in this interview . . .love how Celine was gently rubbing Rene's shoulder after she got mock-mad about the "secret" -- and that's the same show where she sang "Alone" and started crying because they were showing pictures of her father . .and Rene wipes away her tears, strokes her arm, and puts his arm around her . .3:30 of this video. I love them!

she seemed to be trying to do an English accent in a lot of the interviews right around when Taking Chances was released. She didn't really sound like she had an English accent -- she sounded like she had a French-Canadian accent trying to sound like an English accent. I didn't think it sounded good at all; her natural accent is so beautiful and lilting! I'm glad she stopped doing that.

 

It was particularly pronounced in e.g. 2:25 of this interview:

The interviewer is terrible as well as the music. Celine is gorgeous as always, but what shocked me most was the cameraman. The camera shot dropped to her breasts multiple times completely leaving her beautiful face out of the picture. It was almost funny. One of the weirdest things I've witnessed with Celine so far.

I can hear what you are saying..but I honestly think it's just certain words and vowels that sometimes she has a hard time pronouncing in specific sequences of words. English is not her first language, therefore there is a split second delay from her brain to her mouth as to what she says when she's speaking English. I find that my accent becomes more 'English' when I'm talking to Americans. I suddenly go really posh
