The video is rare (btw - I've seen it before), so I'm not allowed to comment it and wonder about the fact Celine didn't sing the song live? I don't see any connection between those two facts. It was merely an observation that she didn't sing live on this particular show because she always sang live on Sonia Benezera. I'm not sure I'm understanding you entirely, but if people think that Grammy Awards do or should only go to artists from the United States then they are dead wrong and know nothing of music history. Similarly, U.S. pop charts reward artists from all over the (mainly English-speaking) world. Celine definitely could have had a hit with LMBTL...but her reputation, her age, and (especially) the industry money and power games were all against her.
