I'm from Long Island..and it's very clear that I am because I sound like Fran Drescher when I "tawk" lol..but I will pick up on English and Southern accents so easily at my tables when I'm working. But I see what you guys are saying about her picking it up/imitating those around her -- and it is interesting that it was particularly pronounced when she was being interviewed by someone from South Africa (whose accent sounds to me pretty similar to an English accent). The reason I disliked Celine's English-like accent is that it seemed kind of affected (and one thing I love about her is how she's so natural and unaffected) but this makes it seem less so. 1 Quote
