jpatdeleon09 Posted January 8, 2020 at 07:48 PM Posted January 8, 2020 at 07:48 PM I didn’t know thst this kind of setup in recording studio still exists. Céline in 90’s use this kind of setup. Maybe this setup is better for natural reverb/echo? Javascript is not enabled OR refresh the page to viewClick here to view the Tweet Quote
DionFanAlways Posted January 8, 2020 at 08:06 PM Posted January 8, 2020 at 08:06 PM No, we didn't get sh*t!!! I'm totally cool with this new-era Céline that's like "No more intense promo—sorry-not-sorry", but for the love of god, there's NO EXCUSE for them not throwing together a 20 minute "making-of" video like they did for all her big albums!!! She's always claiming to be an open book, but this entire release feels more closed than anything she's ever done before... like it's been shrouded in secrecy the whole time. "Shhhh! Can't talk - can't ruin the surprise!!" And then nothing! Her book's been closed a long time ago. 1 Quote I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.
mb011 Posted January 8, 2020 at 09:02 PM Posted January 8, 2020 at 09:02 PM It is obvuous this album has been recorded during a long period of time (years), so its kind of hard to make the "making of"...My only problem is she is not performing the new songs on the tour. I would love to hear them live. The promotion and tv appearances - i dont care for that. 1 Quote
ryba Posted January 8, 2020 at 10:10 PM Posted January 8, 2020 at 10:10 PM (edited) Yes, it’s sad. It’s just so sad. She was not allowed to talk about the album before the release when everyone asked her and everyone was interested so she hasn’t talked about it at all, and now she can and she doesn’t at all. Wtf!?! Moreover, they have making of footage of the videos and they show us literally a FEW SECONDS in a clip that isn’t even 2 minutes long. Sorry but this is ridiculous. Taking Chances Posted January 9, 2020 at 01:03 PM Posted January 9, 2020 at 01:03 PM Quite honestly, this whole thing is a joke. It looks like everything was handled by some total amateurs. Everything that happened after the album release... what is going on there? It's hard to believe that this was their plan. Or they don't care at all anymore. I agree. I get that making an album isn't where the money is anymore, at least not for veteran artists like Celine. And I don't really care about the lack of promo either, but what I do care about is how little they actually seem to care about anything related to the album. Like you said, she doesn't talk about it, she doesn't sing (most) songs from the album, she doesn't release music videos, she doesn't do promotion or interviews. And all this after "postponing" the album that was supposed to release at least two years ago. As much as I love the album and take it for what it is, all the warning signs have been there for a while now. I feel bad for saying this, but Celine obviously does not have any passion for this album. At all. And neither does Sony. Action speaks louder than words and all that. He said "retarded" then replied, then edited his response to say nothing, then edited the comment and removed the word Oh, just give it a rest. 2 Quote

The use of extremely offensive, derogatory words like that which relate to the horrid treatment of those who experience/live with disabilities is unacceptable. If you want to be the kind of scummy person who condones that, thats fine, but dont tell me to give it a rest when calling out the repeated use of offensive language, even if you dont find it to be so, forum rules apply Quote

pat200 Posted January 9, 2020 at 10:03 PM Posted January 9, 2020 at 10:03 PM (edited) she doesn't care about new hits. and we have to face the fact that celine is a money machine. she doesn't care much anymore about her art. so many people depend on her for their livelihoods so they need to stick to a winning formula, and that formula is that her english global tours will always be mostly her 90s greatest hits. Squall Posted January 9, 2020 at 10:21 PM Posted January 9, 2020 at 10:21 PM But she could sing Change My Mind instead of the medley. Can we imagine the FIY tour without the songs from that album? Does she want to have new hits?In my opinion, from what I've seen from footage of the "Courage" tour, she really comes to life when she's singing the newer songs. When she's doing her classics, she's very robotic and just going through the motions. She seems bored. So I don't know why she isn't pressing on the new material. Like, why record an album if you're just going to ignore it. Just do Greatest Hits tours and skip making albums. What was the point of "Taking Chances" or "Love Me Back To Life"? Neither of those albums are featured in this tour. By the time she records her next album and goes on tour for that, she'll completely ignore all the songs off "Courage." I refuse to believe she's incapable of producing more hits. "Ashes" had a ton of potential being tied to Deadpool. If she had made the talk show rounds she really could have milked that. And there could be hits off "Courage" but the songs aren't given a chance. Why has she never been a musical guest on Saturday Night Live? I'm sure they'd kill to get a guest like her on. If I had things my way, which I never will, when I go to a Celine concert I'd hear 3 or 4 classic songs TOPS. Everything else would be from the current decade. And if she feels her current stuff isn't good enough, then she needs to look into why that is and fix it. 4 Quote

maki_Dion-er Posted January 10, 2020 at 12:16 AM Posted January 10, 2020 at 12:16 AM (edited) Does she want to have new hits? No, she wants a career. Unfortunately she's relying on her past career success to carry her future career. I will always defend Celine and try to see her point of view but honestly if she doesn't like to do promo (which I get cause it can be very boring and repetitive) she should really be singing the songs on her tour. How else will people hear them live? And she knows she isn't a strong streaming force so singing her new songs on tour for the general fans to hear and entice them to buy/stream is what she should be doing. How else will her new songs be able to compete with her older stuff when they don't give them a chance. She has Ashes, her biggest English hit of the last decade and she's already given up on it. Singing 4-5 Courage songs does not take away much from the hits she needs to sing for general fans (which are 5-6 fixed songs), the rest she can mix up with smaller hits/rares and covers she wants. Even starting with IACBTMN gives a feeling of her looking to the past at her old hits as opposed to looking to the future which is what Flying on My Own was for. Anyway, I wanted to get that off my chest but really all these rants fall on deaf ears because her team doesn't read any of her hardcore fans comments or complaints, and if they do then they don't care. Their goal is to please the general fans that are happy listening to the hits.Even if Celine agrees with us and is tired of singing the same old things, she will continue singing them because she's trying to please the majority of fans by doing what she thinks is what most want (I'm sure even general fans would be happy hearing songs like I Want You to Need Me or something off of LMBTL, TC, or OH). She likely has no idea so many are asking for her to sing more from Courage since she doesn't read fan comments online. EDIT: If Soul is used as her next single I will be a very happy fan. Ncarbia Posted January 10, 2020 at 03:50 AM Posted January 10, 2020 at 03:50 AM I completely understand the need of hits in the set list to please the masses, but surely in a concert of 20 songs you can incude 5/6 new songs, that leaves you space to sings 14/15 old songs. So, if she doesn't sing more of Courage it because she wants it that way. It's not that hard to fit new songs and a good amount of hits in a concert if you're willing to.
