beelee Posted January 13, 2020 at 04:24 AM Posted January 13, 2020 at 04:24 AM I’m so glad that Soul has been made available outside of Japan! I personally really love the song. Maybe I missed something, but does anyone have any idea why the team did this? Is it really just a “gift”? Are they trying to see if this song should be the next single? 3 Quote
Popular Post scielle Posted January 13, 2020 at 04:26 AM Popular Post Posted January 13, 2020 at 04:26 AM (edited) Found this. This might be the reason she doesn’t sing more songs from Courage. So sad.https://www.instagra...id=fpwsi3lmefcpNo, it's not. This individual has no idea what they're talking about. this is bul;lshit. i can invent reasons as to why also. Doesn't make sense. Pretty sure that singing a David Bowie song, a Prince song is pretty expensive.Indeed, it's BS. Does she really have to pay for a song license each time she sings a song in her concert? I always thought that she can sing anything she wants and it doesn't cost her anything, but she only pays licensing rights when she releases the concert on Cd and DVD. How does that actually work? A license fee is payable each time a song is performed live. PROs (Performing Rights Organizations, such as ASCAP, BMI and SESAC in the US, PRS in the UK, SOCAN in Canada, etc) collect royalties each time a song is performed and pay out 50% of the royalties collected to its songwriters, and 50% to the song's publisher.PROs track playlists and pay out royalties accordingly. Actual fees paid depend on the size of venue - i.e. it costs more to perform a song at a stadium than at a local bar.The venue, not the performing artist, is responsible for paying these. For example, here is a sample license agreement for an arena or stadium: https://www.ascap.co...ium-license.pdf Edited January 13, 2020 at 04:35 AM by scielle 10 Quote

So sad. https://www.instagra...id=fpwsi3lmefcp Javito outdid himself with this one So it's cheaper to sing Imagine than Perfect Goodbye? hahaha If this theory was true, Celine would actually sing only songs she originally recorded. She might not be a songwriter, but Rene managed to get her very good contracts in the 90s and she actually gets more royalties than artists like Madonna even if she is not the songwriter. Anyway it was so fun to read hahaha 6 Quote

beelee Posted January 13, 2020 at 11:39 AM Posted January 13, 2020 at 11:39 AM I listened to the album for the first time today since December. I think I needed a break from it lol I was listening to it constantly. The release of Soul also made me feel like revisiting the album. I must say, it still sounds fresh! It's quickly becoming one of my favourite Celine albums. 3 Quote
Céline RO Posted January 13, 2020 at 04:08 PM Posted January 13, 2020 at 04:08 PM thank you for explaining! That's really interesting indeed. So the writers of MHWGO, IACBTMN or BYLM must have a really good life then Not quite as good as the writer of LCMM! Turns out, the big winner is Diane Warren who wrote both LCMM and BYLM (and many others including IYAMT). 2 Quote The best is yet to come...
SantiagoColorado Posted January 13, 2020 at 04:24 PM Posted January 13, 2020 at 04:24 PM (edited) But since songs like, for example, lovers never die, how did you get here etc... are lesser known songs, wouldn't be easier to pay the songwriters instead of paying for a Queen and David Bowie song? I'm just guessing. I listened to the album for the first time today since December. I think I needed a break from it lol I was listening to it constantly. The release of Soul also made me feel like revisiting the album. I must say, it still sounds fresh! It's quickly becoming one of my favourite Celine albums. Something similar is happening to me, in my case, the first 4 released songs (FOMO, Courage, LD, Imperfections) sounds, for me, like from a different album. Then we have the rest of the tracks of the deluxe album, and now Soul. From the first 4 songs I only listen to FOMO, but love to sing LD and Courage. From the rest of the deluxe tracks, I skip many of them while listening to the album on spotify. Soul, I just got enough of it. Edited January 13, 2020 at 04:28 PM by SantiagoColorado 1 Quote

I wish they would include it as a secret track at the end of the vinyl release, like Valse Adieu ...or maybe that's where they'll put Play Me Like A Lovesong 1 Quote
Jeanette Posted January 14, 2020 at 12:09 AM Posted January 14, 2020 at 12:09 AM Can someone help me with regards to For The Lover That I Lost, all the official lyrics say she’s singing “so I laid a dozen roses for the lover that I lost” but I here “lay a dozen roses”. It’s only when she sings “I laid them there, I laid them there, for you” that I definitely hear “laid”. Is it just my ears or are the lyrics incorrect, anyone? Quote

That's the problem of not having a decent booklet xD I would say go and search on google, but you can find different lyrics on different sites. 1 Quote

Another option can be that (from Deezer): "So I lay a dozen roses for the lover that I lostI stand by all my choices even though I paid the costOh, all those nights, the lows and highsI share them all with youSo I lay a dozen roses, I lay them thereI lay them there for you" 1 Quote

dyusha Posted January 14, 2020 at 12:25 PM Posted January 14, 2020 at 12:25 PM OK so don’t hate me if you’re a Bieber fan But I do not hear Belieber in Nobody’s Watching. If Celine were Spanish speaking, it would be a gray area, since the B is a fricative in Spanish pronunciation But Celine’s native language is French, and I can clearly hear “believer”. Belieber with a B would be a lot more explosive in French accent I don’t think any of those lyrics are accurate 1 Quote I'll always be with you
