And to be honest, 90% of what's on the Hot 100 is garbage... so if Sony is trying to get Céline to chart, their best bet is with some mediocre "garbage" or radio-friendly "leftovers". But ultimately, my opinion doesn't matter — nor does anyone else's here. As this album has proven, there are many degrees of fandom, and our tastes are more dichotomous than ever. Even if we all agreed on the same single choices —which we don't— we are still NOT the masses... we are the minority. I don't get your point about leftovers or fans being a minority. That's the way it is was written buy the guy behind the backstreet boys, Soul could have been written by someone trying to sound like Max Martins 20 years too late.I don't hate soul, I can enjoy it, still in term of lyrics, melody and production, this is by far the weakest song. Why would you choose a Z list song when you have what's best in term of poppy songs if that's what they want (From baby to The hard way)? And on top of that a song that does even not appear on the album ? That's all, and quite simple. 2 Quote

The point I was trying to make is that 1) not everyone agrees with you that “Soul” is “Z list” / leftovers, and that 2) regardless of which edition of the album it is on it, in terms of production, it shares more in common with songs on the radio than many other songs on Courage. With such an incredible album, Sony could choose any number of songs to promote as singles, and I, for one, would be content. But none of this matters because Sony will release whatever the heck they want and —as we have already seen— the level of promotion for this project is basically nil. The song is GARBAGE. Wtf does she even mumble in the verses? I haven’t listened to Courage in a month until yesterday. Change My Mind should have been a single. I used to joke that Sony was conspiring against Celine to release the worst singles on an album...But you know what, after seeing a recent interview, it’s clear that Celine doesn’t give a s**** about anything, especially her records. She says, I won’t do more than 3 or 4 songs of my new record: “I have nothing to sell”. Really? Isn’t that what it is all about? If girlfriend don’t care, why should anyone else???
