GameC Posted November 8, 2019 at 08:45 PM Posted November 8, 2019 at 08:45 PM (edited) Maybe if/when the article is published online, we'll just use Google translate...Google translator rather will not work well in this case. Always interested lol. Maybe you can just highlight the most interesting parts that are said, rather than a full translation? It's not that simple, this text looks like it was written for... National Geographic The narrative is very "vivid" in many places, so you have to translate the whole here. Look at this example, this is how it starts: === Friday, July 5, 2019. Dusk falls, and almost the entire Hyde Park, with its 150 hectares of area, rumbles from the bass. Last concert on the summer stage is coming to an end. Céline Dion is in a canary yellow dress, the fourth creation of the evening, after a fancy sapphire gin with large buffs, a green dress and an extravagant red ink sequin suit. As a farewell, Céline sings a cover of John Lenoan's hit "Imagine", bows and disappears behind the scenes. There are shouts from the audience: "We love you Céline!", someone is crying with emotion. The concert staff start directing everyone to leave. The view is amazing, because the spreading audience - 70,000 people - floods this part of London in almost one moment. Sidewalks are not able to accommodate such a crowd, columns of people occupy part of the road. Buses and cars try to avoid them, traffic jams begin to form. Rickshaw drivers have noticed the opportunity to earn and luring people with loudly played Dion hits (rickshaws, illuminated by disco lights, with speakers installed are recently a tourist hit in London). And without it, the whole street shouts the words of her songs. You can see that people missed her. The only concert this year in Europe is clearly not enough. After all, we're talking about an artist who, with a record number of over 200 million albums sold, can be compared only with such music giants as The Beatels, Abba, Queen, Michael Jackson or Madonna. That July evening in Hyde Park, nobody knows what Dion is up to. How long will her fans have to wait until she reappears on this side of the ocean again. === So I'll try, but I don't promise anything Edited November 8, 2019 at 08:49 PM by GameC 2 Quote

AdrienneM Posted November 8, 2019 at 08:57 PM Posted November 8, 2019 at 08:57 PM (edited) Friday Night; one of the biggest night time talk shows world wide and i assume she’ll be plugging the album and performing, one West coast appearance and with the tour and such she’ll be #1 NO problem, thats all the US promo she needs, especially if she does a “segment” on his show. Was hoping she’d do a proper interview on James Corden but oh well Edited November 8, 2019 at 08:58 PM by AdrienneM 4 Quote
Nmj Posted November 8, 2019 at 09:02 PM Posted November 8, 2019 at 09:02 PM Wow good! So I’m guessing since she will be in Montreal around that time, she’ll do a couple New York shows like Jimmy Fallon. And hopefully the week after she Does the Los Angeles circuit. 3 Quote

Nmj Posted November 8, 2019 at 09:21 PM Posted November 8, 2019 at 09:21 PM Good news!!! Get that deserved #1 Céline! I think the Thursday night show would’ve been a better broadcast to get on. Reason being it airs during the midnight hour when the album is Already released, and IF she has a memorable moment like she did with him like last time when she did with that impersonation game, it’ll give the media time to create buzz about her the next morning, now she’ll appear Friday night and then the weekend falls with all of the other shows off until Monday. Taking Chances Posted November 8, 2019 at 09:23 PM Posted November 8, 2019 at 09:23 PM Vocal enunciation is often very sloppy. It doesn't destroy my enjoyment of the album, but I feel she's been getting steadily worse when it comes to her English-language pronunciation. I was listening to the CD1992 album a couple of weeks ago, and the difference in how much care she took with pronunciation on that album and that stage in her career vs. more recent output is huge. I guess at that point they were much more concerned about making her vocals appealing to the masses to establish her career, and now they just think "She's MF-ing Céline Dion - she can do it whatever way she wants and people will like it!" You don't even have to go that far back. On Loved Me Back To Life (album) she pronounced the words much clearer. Quote

The only fault I see is that I really think it would benefit from another minute to extend that last section and give it proper After listening to the album several times I'll have to give the earworm award to Change My Mind...even if it wasn't one of my favorites at the beginning, it is the one that I find myself humming to all day long. Popular Post wjd Posted November 8, 2019 at 10:08 PM Popular Post Posted November 8, 2019 at 10:08 PM (edited) Haven't commented on the songs we've already heard, just the songs not yet released. Lovers Never Die - well this is different! Falling In Love Again - I really like what she does with her voice here, I'm a sucker for a piano-led ballad. Her voice towards the end is insanity, the way she hits her notes that have a strong vowel emphasis is amazing (on words like "agaaaaiiiiiin"), gave me goosebumps. Change My Mind - is this a Sia song? Love the verses, but loathe the enunciation on the word "minddd" in the choruses (sounds like "change my mineee") - however, her vocals are utter insanity. I don't know what notes she's hitting, but her belting is crazy good. Say Yes - OMG, her voice!! The vocal ns in this (how she trails off the "say yessss") are so infectious, it's a great pop song, my only gripe is how it ends (wanted one of those lovely trailing off "say yesss" vocals). Nobody's Watching - I can't say I'm a massive fan of her vocals in this, it's pretty forgettable, save for the chorus. The Chase - it sounds like there's two different songs in this song, the vocals don't fit the track. For The Lover That I Lost - disappointing, this doesn't really go anywhere does it? Baby - this HAS to be Sia, great song! I really liked this, only gripe is that towards the end, what has ended up being the backing vocals should've been the main vocals, let me hear those SLAYING vocals queen! I Will Be Stronger - I knew I'd like this from the moment I heard the first note, and I loved it. It didn't end how I thought it would, but I quite liked that. A highlight IMO. How Did You Get Here - OMG, this is brilliant. It reminds me of another song, and I can't quite place it. I LOVE, LOVE this. Look At Us Now - I can imagine her singing this on an awards show, backed by a beautiful ghospel choir, this is bloody fantastic! Perfect Goodbye - she swore! Best of All - I love how she plays with her voice in this, she's having fun with it. Liked this! Heart of Glass - I was anticipating this so much based on the title, and it did not disappoint IMO, a album highlight! I utterly adored this, the yodelling way she sings the chorus is so beautiful, there is so much to love. I can't believe this isn't on the standard edition! Boundaries - this is beautiful, her head voice is so underrated - I love how she sings "Boundaries", the two Moccio songs are highlights on this record for me. The Hard Way - her vocals are insane, I'd love to see her try and reciprocate this live. I think this is a splendid record, there's a couple of songs that miss the mark IMO and it would be a stronger overall record without them. What I like is that there's only 2 songs over 4 minutes, everything else is in the 02:50-04:00 bracket and that's perfect for a pop record. I get the points around enunication, as she gets older, she gets worse with this - but you can't help but love her twang! She is still by far my absolute favourite artist of all-time, and I don't think I could ever tire of her - she will never be the most revolutionary or the most game-changing (at least not with her English records); however, she puts her authentic self into everything she does and you can't help but admire that, given she's still at the top of her game and is more culturally relevant than she has ever been before. And yet, she's the same Celine that we've always loved. I think Rene had lost his direction when it came to her English career and this became quite obvious with LMBTL. They changed the concept of the album, they did not know what to do with it, receiving the song from Sia came off as a last minute addition, and they then changed the album title. Even during promo for the album Rene seemed confused. I remember Katie Couric asking them to explain the album title, WAAF, and all he had to say was ''it is, you know, the opposites''. This showed there was no depth to this project, nor an artistic direction. I sense he was being very much satisfied with the Vegas show? I can only speculate. I wish he was with us still, but I have to be objective and say that Celine seems considerably more adventurous. I mean, his favorite song from TC, a record that was supposed to be edgy, was ASFY. That says it all, I think. Edited November 8, 2019 at 10:40 PM by LukeD 5 Quote
LVCeline Posted November 8, 2019 at 10:48 PM Posted November 8, 2019 at 10:48 PM Really the only time on the album where I thought her vocals were noticeably strange are on For The Lover That I Lost. I see this being highly regarded. I mean, how can it not? It is so well delivered, executed and produced. But not overly. I am in love with Change my mind. Those vocals are f'ing insane. Off the bat this is the one that stands out for me. I'm also in love with Nobody's Watching. Totally like a Make me happy (2019 version)~. There are just so many emotions listening to this. It has hit material on there. The public needs to hear it. I just ordered my Deluxe version from Amazon.
