pat200 Posted April 6, 2018 at 04:31 PM Posted April 6, 2018 at 04:31 PM how hard is it for someone to understand that even if you don't end up on any year end top 200 chart but end up being the 22nd best selling album worldwide of that year, that result is considered a big success? lord have mercy... wjd Posted April 6, 2018 at 04:49 PM Posted April 6, 2018 at 04:49 PM Lets make thing clear here. SONY get their money from Celine's album, streaming, digital download. AEG get the money from tours, concerts , Vegas. SONY will NOT get profit no matter how sold out her concert tickets and not interested on her ability to sell tickets. SONY needs a decent number of album sales from her. Otherwise, they would rather drop her from their label and put their investment to someone who can bring more money like Beyonce or Alicia Keys who were also veteran artists too but constantly outsell her albums. Just trying to be realistic here. This is as clueless as that other guy's posts. 1 Quote Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?

manu23 Posted April 6, 2018 at 05:26 PM Posted April 6, 2018 at 05:26 PM Sony might not get money from tickets sales, but they own Celine songs and I’m pretty sure they receive a nice amount every year on royalties from AEG and the venues owners, plus merchandise sales probably. I find it hard to believe that someone with a bit of common sense could question Celine’s ability to generate money to Sony or any other record label. 1 Quote

Also lets not forget , that physical albums don't sell like they used to so I would bet that the sales of Celines physical albums are highest at the Celine store outside the colosseum. So yeah in a waya tour or residency is a help to the record label because it will bring in more overall sales. For the record company a show ia like promotion., have you guys seen how long the line in the Celine store can get directly after the show? These are people who aren't the everyday die haed fan but wanted to purchase a album after witnessing her talent for 2 hours live. So yeah they go hand in hand. Quote

zuv Posted April 7, 2018 at 03:53 PM Posted April 7, 2018 at 03:53 PM If it's any good, it shouldn't matter whether it's released in 2018 or 2038. Good music is timeless. Last thing I want is a desperate attempt to try & chase fads. It’s true that most Celine albums are timeless. But not every songs were in LMBTL, and thats because she’s trying to compete with her generation and be more current. If she does that again, then the time does matter for its released. But yeah i guess i shouldn’t be worry abt that, i just need new celine music asap.. 😩😩 Quote

Javito Posted April 7, 2018 at 06:55 PM Posted April 7, 2018 at 06:55 PM (edited) I'm not sure I want the Sia songs on her albums anymore (and I'm a HUGE fan of her), because either they can be too good and are too different from the rest, so then they stand out from the rest of the songs, being the rest of the album mediocre, or they're also forgettable and she got them only because it's "Sia" who wrote them Edited April 7, 2018 at 06:56 PM by Javito 2 Quote "Hush, now... Javito Posted April 8, 2018 at 09:34 AM Posted April 8, 2018 at 09:34 AM (edited) "stop pretending being cool" AS SHE EVER TRIED to be/sound cool to the new generation, she never did that.... Unfortunately She was once, with the A New Day Has Come and One Heart albums. In 2002 and with the single IDAN she was cooler than ever (if that's a correct term to use with her). Better said, she was "cool" those two years without she pretending to be cool, and that's another success she added to the list during those years full of success and new achievements with those albums. She was everywhere, she was played everywhere, and I dare to say people loved her music more than ever, including a younger generation she hadn't conquered before But... she decided to go in different ways of popularity and success and closed that door with her voluntary retirement to Vegas, at the top of her game. Shaun Posted April 8, 2018 at 11:29 AM Posted April 8, 2018 at 11:29 AM I would say projects such as “Miracle” drove her younger fans away more than Vegas did. I still look back on the whole “Miracle” project now and want to cry!!!
