I love that she’s taking charge! But I’m also wanting a little more information, but simultaneously I’m happy because it means it’s not going to be rushed. She’s picking the songs. I think she’s trying to explore new sounds while sticking to what she knows. I think once we finally get this album, it’s going to be amazing. In the way Encore Un Soir is a classic, I pray that the lead track for this album will be one that marks the caliber of amazing music she’s known for. I know it will be remembered because she’s hot in the press now.

Selfishly, I want to hear something new in the Asian tour, but if she’s not ready, I respect her decision. I appreciate the way she’s showing privacy about this project, trying to perfect every little bit of this new project.

The interview sounds promising. But I'm afraid that "when it's ready" is going to be far, far away. T_T

I hope at least this year please. Recently the news said the upcoming Asian tour is also to promote her new album. I hope it's true. >_<

I take this as great news! Yeah i want this album to release already but I'm all for quality if it means we have to wait a little bit longer. I'd rather wait over them rushing to give us a subpar album like LMBTL album, besides two or three of those songs every single song is a filler and not even a good filler lol. I miss the days like with "Falling Into You" album where a filler was no such thing; yeah it had the "hits" and the songs they choose to push but with that album it never mattered what they choose to release any of the songs IMO were good enough to be a single. "A New Day Has Come " was the same thing with the exception of "At Last" & "Nature Boy " which they also werw needed and placed in the tracklist of the album perfectly.

So basically i don't care as long as it takes as long as Celine accomplishes the following:

Good song selection.

Good collaboration selections

Revert back to her beautiful tone ( no bedroom voice)

And have a story to tell in a coherent way carefully buliding up the album to tell a story very important in choosing track numbers.

One thing I hope Celine team realize our thoughts and feedbacks that we want a TRUE, resonant, natural Celine (in any kind of music), not dry, rough, bedroom voices that some producers suggested her in some songs in the last album. >_< Edited January 27, 2018 at 07:15 PM by chawatak

As much as I want this album today.

I kinda like her attitude,

"Before, it had to be done by yesterday. But now, I’m like, ‘sorry, bye, I’m going to go meditate’

By saying: "it had to be done yesterday" also makes me feel like she really wants to feel this album, and make it really the best ever.

"It had to be done yesterday" also made me believe that in the past they just picked songs to fill the album on time.

I love that she feels connected with her inner self.

I think in the past it was Rene who made all the decisions and kept all the "negativity" away from her.

Maybe that's why she has not a new manager, she is in control.

Anyway finally a decent interview with a little bit of depth in her answers.

Agree with you!! I'm in love with this interview.

And her answers make me want to wait for this album since it's going to be a Céline Dion album, not a Sony album. This made me a LOT more excited!!

So if it isn't released on her birthday like I was hoping for, I don't care when it will come out. As long as Céline can make it hers and with no pressure.

But, she also has an extraordinary EQ. Denise Bombardier pointed out in her Celine bio that Celine is better at reading people than any politician she ever interviewed (and she interviewed some of the most powerful politicians in the world.)

That's definitely one of the things that fascinate me most about Céline.

And one of the reasons I don't really worry about her being ripped off financially by some shady business partner or by some boytoy with money on his mind...

I've always gotten the sense that Celine is far more attuned to people and much smarter than she gets credit for.

And I think she's more attuned to people than René was.

Which is why it really piqued my curiosity when she distanced herself from some long-time collaborators when René was no longer in charge. Mégo & Co (Aldo's call? But surely, if she had opposed the decision, it wouldn't have happened), Julie Snyder, Annie Horth...Maybe add Aldo to the list? (still curious about that one)

And I think for a long time people took her for a push-over.

The fate of most women who aren't perceived as "b*tches" unfortunately.

Seems like you're either one or the other in many people's eyes...

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but this part stuck out for me:

Rene was very much a manager as we all know. He would map out her career 2 years at a time. But now she truly is the boss. Rene helped her achieve a career that can now allow her to do exactly what she’s doing. Record a new album when she wants, and have it released when she’s happy with it. No scrambling for a few songs to finish an album because the release date is coming!

Don’t care when it comes out tbh. Maybe Celine working this way means we’ll get an album full of songs she’ll actually perform! Not just one or two but several 🤞

I don't think the song selections in the past were rushed. However, she did record albums within just a couple of weeks. That process seemed rushed to me, but she was a busy woman back then. Appearance upon appearances and touring. Although, production was always stellar.

She has undeniably thick skin. You don't get to where she is by constantly worrying what people say or think about you. You've got to tune out the naysayers and believe in what you're doing, otherwise it'll never ring true.

And I always thought one of her best DGAF moves was her decision to be with Rene. She knew people would scoff. But she was all like "I don't care what you think, this is my life". She stood her ground, and I've always loved that about her. Her self-confidence and refusal to be anything but herself were always inspiring.

And I think she's more attuned to people than René was.

Indeed. I don't think it was all just Aldo's doing. Very curious as to what actually happened there, though don't think we'll ever truly find out.

I agree with all of this!!! However, there is no doubt in my mind that Rene put many things in place for Celine while he was still well enough. I'm sure he has plans for her for the next few years. He was a very smart man, probably the best artist manager in the business. He absolutely made sure that Celine would have work written in stone for after he was gone.

Yeah I agree with you, she is in charge, but mainly in charge of enacting what he had planned. As we know Rene was a meticulous planner and I'm sure he would have talked through the future of her career with her.

It's clear Céline and Sony don't want to give too many details, which is great in my opinion.
It seems they want to take the time needed to get the best album possible.

I like how we don't have a lot of information about the album. Too many details before release lead to massive expectations that will always fail to deliver.

Must admit, I miss the days when you only ever heard the first single (usually the album title track lol) when the album was released. Putting the cd on and discovering most of it there and then. I still try and do this, although it’s getting harder and harder too 😢

Dissagree, song selections seemed very rushed in the past.

You don't just have a song like " Taking Chances" and "Right Next To The Right One" on the same album; you tell me which one of those two was most likely choosen to complete the album.....

Because anyone knows that RNTTRO goes absolutely nowhere. One her absolute worst songs IMO. lol

For me one of only very few songs from celine that i must automatically SKIP lol. I think in many cases, Celine can save a bad song, just by using her voice; poor Celine couldn't even save that one! Lol

Where as WTWOLYR is my favourite song on the ANDHC album and I play it like 5 times over. I love the feel of that song and wish she would sing songs more like that because that type of music is STILL relevant today

Encore Un Soir was the first album really. He had only head 1 song from the album, the title song and that's only because Céline asked JJG to write it in 2015

The same can be said about "Ten Days" as it was the last song added to ANDHC. And it ended up being one of the best songs on the album. I happen to like RNTTRO a lot. It's different, I love her subdued vocal, and I thought it was well produced. But that's just my taste. I hardly think it ruins the album though. Just because a song is a last minute addition, doesn't mean that the entire album of songs was a rushed selection. Last minute addition vs. rushing song selections are very different things.
