this Saturday In Greece with the newspaper Real news the cd " Loved Me Back To Life "

 

How can Sony do this? I feel violated! What a disgrace!

unfortunately there are not so many cd stores here in Greece , for example in the centre of Athens only one is still alive , and every week the newspapers they offer new cd's , because of the economy crisis people they don't buy cd's anymore , sonymusic in Greece has been closed about 4 months now and some international releases from sony here in Greece they deliver the cd's through Feel Good Records

Well, if CDs are not really selling and the album can reach more people in your country, then I'd say it's probably a good move.

 

I remember also when Spain was in the top 10 worldwide markets and CDs sold so much. I didn't live here, but I read reports and saw the astonishing numbers and charts back then.

But surely people are still able to buy CDs in supermarkets or wherever took over from the record stores prominence in Greece. And what about online sales? I know it's tough in Greece, even tougher than here in Ireland, but for a record company to do this. It's really cheapening the album. It's just too damn soon. I like these little real news card sleeves and have all the others, but it's only been a matter of weeks!

This is probably just another sign of how desperately Sony is trying to sell Céline's new album in some countries, doing the cheapest and most effortless promotion they can for it Surely Beyoncé's new album is not going to have this treatment right?

 

I think that sums up pretty well how things have changed in Céline's recording career.

I said right from the start, they should have just put all the covers on an EP, availaible exclusively at the Vegas store and the online boutique. It would mean the people who ask for the songs are happy, and we would have been more happy too as LMBTL would have been a stronger and more coherant album. Instead we've been left with a mixture of the two on one CD which simply doesn't work.

 

i think it works though - i think its actually interweaved quite well.

With all this new branding for the show, I wonder if we are going to see a big change in the setlist and costumes? Based on these advertisements, it seems they are moving away from the classic, old-fashioned image to something more modern...

 

They should be aiming for more modern i think - well a balance between the two which i guess that whole album concept and photo shoot does quite well. I thought the old branding was hideous to tell you the truth it just looked so cheap and dated, too theme driven....create a NEW classic thats what i hope they're trying to portray now. (who would want a mug or worse tshirt with that awful celine logo on it)

 

as for the shows wardrobe i think that strikes a great balance with modern classic - stunning - i dont think that will change much

Even the biggest and best selling greek singers release their albums with newspapers here. Even 'hot-current' singers! We are really used to that, it was a great choice to release her album with the newspaper. Tons of singers have gone like 3xPlatinum in one day because of this. The newspaper definitely sells more than 18k here, probably 100k or even 200k. Not sure though.

i believe that, i'm just mentioning platinum status in Greece is 6000, i have no idea how they count the sales from the newspapers though and unfortunately Mediatraffic does not include sales in Greece for its report (and with good reason )

 

platinum used to be 40k? and then 15k? or was it 15k all along? don't remember

There is no online store In Greece that you can buy the cd of the edition of “Real News “ , I find only two copies in my neighbor for two who ask me from France, I will try to find another copies to help you because there are many who ask me, maybe on eBay someone would have it on sell
