Hi Carlos,

Thank you for your interest in my songs for Celine. I truly appreciate all of your generous support and that of Celine's fans from all over the world!

 

 

1. What was it like to work with Celine Dion in the studio? I was not in the studio with her as she cut our songs in Las Vegas withproducers (Babyface and Walter Afanasieff forABYG and Eman for Thankful) and I live in NYC.

 

2. Can you tell us a bit about the recording sessions for Thankful and Always Be Your Girl? please see above

 

3. The song Thankful takes Celine's album to a whole new dimension with that amazing gospel choir. How did the idea of adding such a choir come about? Right before the mix, Celine had the idea to add the gospel choir and Sony made it happen very quickly. I was impressed! The choir was recorded atlegendary Capitol Studios in LA. Andrew (myhusband and cowriter) and I were thrilled when we heard it. Took the song to a whole new level.

 

4. Thankful has become a favorite for Celine's fans and we'd like to know if she expressed her desire to sing this song live on stage at some point. Thank you. Yes, she did tell me she plans to put our songs in the show.

 

5. We know that Always Be Your Girl was the first original song that Celine recorded for her new album, but when did she record it? Two whole years ago!

 

6. What about Thankful? Could you tell us when did Celine bring this magical track to life in the recording studio? She recorded this later in the process but we knew she'd be recording it for over a year before it happened. We love what she did with oursongs, the sensitivity and artistry that she brought, and are thrilled to have received so many nice letters from her fans about them.

 

7. Were the recording sessions for these two songs filmed? I don't think so.

 

8. And finally, is there anything you'd like to tell us about your latest album 'Uncrushed'? Thank you for asking. I can tell you that myalbum "Uncrushed" is very close to my heart; it's an honest and authentic expression of who I am and those songs were borne from the same personal space I was in when writing for Celine.

 

It's vital to me to tell the truth and be real as possible in order to connect with listeners and express things that I hope will resonate with them and make them feel understood. To me, this is the purpose for doing what I do, and it's an honor to share my music with you.

What this album needs is the GLEE treatment!

 

Glee has lost a lot of respect though. Many expected it to be cancelled after this season and even moreso now that one of the actors died in the fall. Not sure how much one of the songs being featured on there would help the album, as viewings have dropped drastically for the show since its first few seasons.

Glee isn't being cancelled, however the creator has decided that the 6th season will be it's final.

Glee isn't being cancelled, however the creator has decided that the 6th season will be it's final.

I know I simply said that many thought it would be. Its not surprising that the creator is ending it though, isn't he the guy who does the American Horror Story show?

From the pictures I've seen, the booklet seems to be different, it has pictures of celine's personal notes, right? Also, does it contain the postcard pictures that were included in the deluxe edition in a bigger size? Any other differences?

 

I'm seriously considering about buying the vinyl, even though I don't have a vinyl player Me Celine Maniac.

Yes, the booklet is unique to the vinyl! No postcards, but you get a copy of the CD in a neat little slipcase. Looks like a mini vinyl.

You wouldn't regret buying it, it's gorgeous.

Showed my brother and sister in law. He hates Celine, but was impressed with it being released on vinyl. She likes Celine and said she wants her legs - looking at the middle pics, gold dress - you know the ones!! Brother said she looked amazing in the white dress.

A vinyl player is well worth investing in. The medium is making a comeback with good reason, namely the rich and powerfull bass that cd lacks. A reasonably priced and well rated vinyl player is worth the price especially with so many albums being released on the format.

Saw on twitter that Celine will be appearing on Jay Leno on Jan. 24th. The fan group 'Celine Dion Italia' are the ones who tweeted it. I looked online but can't seem to find any information about it, and Leno's show only shows guests for the current week.

I think it's a Phoenix , usually means rebirth as far as I know.

I think Celine wore a balmain top with a very similar design during the SA promo. Well that's what I was reminded of when I saw the cd design.

If you look in the CD booklet, the print on the disc actually matches a necklace Celine wore during the photoshoot ;-) and it is indeed a Phoenix which symbolizes rebirth

I'm excited to see Thankful live!! I think this would be an awesome fit for Vegas. I did notice she says "songs" so I can't help but wonder maybe they'll eventually replace Lullabye with ABYG? It would definitely help give the show a more modern feel, since it's off the latest album. I really hope they add more than just the three songs Renee mentioned (perhaps those will be initial additions and they'll add the others in gradually, too?).

 

Also, concerning ABYG.....recorded two years ago!?!?! Wow! They have been working on this album for a while now. I forget how long sometimes. It also goes to the flow of the album. At this point wasn't the album still Vegas covers with a few new songs? That speaks volumes about why it's so different from some of the other songs on the album, yet still has a somewhat modern feel to it.

I love this and I completely agree, she does need to be talking about this kind of stuff with album releases. It gives her so much more credibility with audiences. She is known for not writing her own songs and a lot of people think she just sings them how she's told, etc. (with the exception of knowing there's a few songs that are personal to her). She needs to show the creative side of her and that's she's more than just a pretty voice and an awesome mom: she's good at her job, too and knows music!

I listened to the Standard Edition yesterday and I skipped songs 9 & 11 (Overjoyed & At Seventeen) and what I noticed is that songs 10 & 12 (Thankful & Always Be Your Girl) did not sound dated at all. Sure they are old-school but they are also typical Celine ballads and in that sense they do fit the album as they give it more originality. The album itself sounded really coherent despite the fact that it only included 11 songs. To me, it seemed as strong as her 90s recordings which all had around 10 great songs and the rest were fillers.
