And I have to add that the guy who praised Britney this way is really delusional. :P She never had a voice to sing with, she's pretty much a studio product. The absolute worst thing about the crazy Britney fans though... Is that they actually think she's a good singer. They truly believes she is. I just wanna slap some sense into them. As a person with ears, I strongly disagree. Sometimes I even say "Are you stupid?", but I know that's wrong. How far would she get in a singing competition? She wouldn't get passed the first audition.

 

Haha, that video was funny. I see the comparison there! :D I actually love Rihanna though.

 

I should really read though my posts before I actually post them, sometimes I find a typo somewhere afterwards. Like, I started writing something at first, and then I just changed my mind and wrote something else instead and forgot to erase some words that I originally wrote. Haha. Well, most people probably won't care. :P

I have a friend who are a huge fan of Britney, he said he like Britney because with a not so great voice like that she manage to be success, that's why he like her.

I think his reason is more make sense than the one who said her voice is amazing or a great vocalist.

Everytime someone brings up Britney as and call her a "good singer" I just can't understand who they are comparing her to. If you compare Britney to farm animals, then yes, she's a good singer. If you compare her to a human, she sucks. I just can't understand people who thinks she is a good singer. At best she's average, but I think she's plain bad. Her voice is just so awful, it's not much of a singing voice, it's barely a talking voice. I have this friend who is a die hard fan of Britney. He's not much of a friend really, just someone I know. Anyway, every time we talk he brings up Britney and how great she is, and I just can't resist (according to me) state the obvious that she's not. And he says that Britney can do something with her voice that no other singers can.... Apparently, she can reach some very inhuman high notes. This is of course coming from a die hard fan, so as much as I believes he loves her, I think that is utter bullshit.

 

I am not discrediting Britney for her success, she has done a lot of great things, though, her music is a bit trashy for my taste these days. Back in the day it was better. But her voice is nothing special. Every time I hear her "sing" it's so uncomfortable. I'm not really a fan of Beyonce either, but at least she can sing, so I'll never say anything bad about her except that maybe most of her music is not for me. Though, I actually understand why people love her.

 

My point with this entire post though, was that this committee usually have a great objective view on what to reward, however not always. Take Britney again, when she was a kid her recordings actually sounded decent, so where did it all go? It's like her vocal prime lasted 6 months when she was a teenager and then she just lucked out auto tuning her entire career. I have so much more respect for singers who actually sing. By all means, use auto tune if it sounds good, but a singer shouldn't be dependent on it.

 

In these years where she was nominated, they really didn't have much to choose from lol...

Did you guys see the slew of press articles (including the one above) where Stubhub is claiming that Britney's residency outsold both Celine and Elton for the 2013/2014 year, and is already the #3 all-time best selling residency in Vegas history?

 

First of all, I don't even know how reliable Stubhub is, or if they even have access to the whole market's concert ticket sales (or just their own figures/sales) - they're certainly not Pollstar or Billboard, but some Britney fans are acting ridiculous and prematurely gloating

 

From what I'm gathering, even though Britney has only performed in 4 shows, tickets are available all the way through September - but A LOT of Britney stans everywhere are now using these articles to proclaim her the new "Queen of Vegas", saying that she outsold Celine's current residency with only 4 shows, and will soon overtake Celine as the highest grossing residency of all time in Vegas.

Both Celine and Britney perform in venues for only around 4k people, the ticket prices are comparable, not to mention Britney is only doing 30 shows while Celine is doing 70, It would be absolutely IMPOSSIBLE for Britney to outsell Celine's 70 shows a year with only 4 shows. WTF is wrong with these people's heads? O_O

And Celine's first residency grossed 400 million! These idiots think Britney will gross more than that with a 30 show residency? Britney only grossed 130 million with a 90-show tour -_-

 

Stubhub refuses to even release specific figures though, so her fans can go ahead and gloat until the numbers are released by Pollstar and they can go cry. Tour-wise Britney doesn't even come close to Celine. Her best selling tour ever (Circus) grossed 130 million compared to Celine's TC tour which grossed 280 million.

Well of course, they inflate numbers all the time as do the teams of all artists

 

But have they ever done it at the expense of another artist? Non.

I don't think Sony is the one who controls that. I do know a really good site to get HQ ringtones from LMBTL and SA as well as several other albums if you or anyone wants it.

Well, I cut the ringtones by myself. That's very easy

 

I know. I used to have a program to do it but with the iPhone isn't that easy.

You can't use programs like ringdroid with iphones? That sucks. I think you can do it in itunes somehow...but I don't think it's simple.

You can cut by your self and convert it to Flac format if i'm not wrong. I use to do that for my iPhone rinhgtones "cut and convert" but now i'm using android it's so much easier.

lol, yes and no, I edited it to make it look like a REAL deluxe version :) I added track 16, 17 and 18

How did you do that? I would rather add hdyktmp and lullaby to the regular album without having 2 separate lmbtl albums
