LukeD Posted July 20, 2014 at 01:15 AM Posted July 20, 2014 at 01:15 AM This album contains some of her best recordings: One of her most modern songs that is LMBTL, the beautifully sung bridge in Thankful, the hidden gem that is Didn't Know Love and possibly her best pop dance tune with Somebody Loves Somebody. 7 Quote

This is how her ballads should sound from now on... they should have always sound like that, if only The power ol love would have never existed, it would have just have just taken less time on my part to really love Celine...anyway . D'eux Honestly, I love her older ballads way more than Didn't know love. It seems before she gave it her all in those recordings. DNL seemed so rushed and dry, I love the song but the bridge could've been way better IMO. 1 Quote

D'eux TPOL was her first US number 1. I'm eternally grateful for this song. It's her voice at it's peak. And it's the best Celine song to test out a new stereo system at full volume. 5 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay

I actually returned quite a few after they failed The TPOL-test. I like her old ballads more. The ballads from LMBTL are nice for the vatiation in her repetoire, but it would be a downer for me if all her ballads and albums from now on would be like this. I still believe in the power ballad and I still believe it can be made today without sounding outdated. But to me, her power ballads are timeless anyway. I was just saying that without TPOL, there may have not been the lead up to her doing BYLM, or winning the Grammys for FIY or even recording MHWGO. TPOL was just a true testament to Celine's ability to create a number 1 in the US and paved the road for more success thereafter. It's a huge milestone in her career. 1 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay

Even if you don't like it, it's not like it's a bad song. Maybe a little random in the track list for the album, but it's a good version overall. 2 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay

David Foster and Celine shoulda just banged out a killer power ballad album during this era. Coulda been like the English bombastic precursor to D'eux. 3 Quote
Del Posted July 21, 2014 at 01:38 PM Posted July 21, 2014 at 01:38 PM My favorite song off the album is Thankful! I like this song. I really enjoy the choir part as I find it adds to the song. didn't know love is still ny favorite, from the first hearing there's just something about this song that for some reason just doesn't do it for me. Maybe I need to listen to it more. I like it but I don't know almost feels it's missing something. For me the song that made a lasting impression is Breakaway. I felt like the song spoke to me. Very touching. Quote Instagram: @delphis78
