Open Arms is a modern power ballad now. Very Celinish yet a sincere tribute to Journey and much better than Mariah's panned version. They should have put this not Overjoyed because OJ haves a Japanese feel to it while open Arms is more western

Couldnt agree more....and it sound like Open arms will turn up to be the best song in LMBTL album.......

I agree that Open Arms is more western, but I totally can't relate Overjoyed and Japanese feel LOL

No,the uploader doubled the song.The song only around3 min,the shortest song of the album

As for the speed of the song, I can scarcely imagine her singing it that quickly in a live performance.

Guess what!!! The slip for my album from the boutique has finally arrived. I can't believe it. I will fetch it later today or tomorrow from the post office. Yes, it is here at last. I'm so happy.

Anyone one from the UK received the vinyl + cd from my play direct/store yet? Got a notification email 1st November to say it had been despatched :-(

at last a good cover but it doesn't fit the album at all, they did well to put in the japanese edition but they should have put it in the i-tunes version too

When she sings "come" during the second chorus.. "So now I COOOME to you..".. im not kidding, i literally saw angels fly! Haha... she makes that part her own, because she changed how it was sung, compared to MC amd journey's versions!

I agree... the song is too plain.. she doesn't even enter the 5th octave... highest note is a B4.... for a powerful ballad that's like.... lazy.. loved the arrangements but they could have done a lot more with it. missed opportunity

I'm very happy that my ears don't have to pop on every single Céline song. I'm loving this smooth-on-my-ears song!!! ;)

I sent in an email couple weeks ago to the music store, asking for a new replacement of my vinyl +cd version, as the jacket of the LP was torn. Haven't heard back from them since then, and just now i received an email from the music store saying they have shipped another new vinyl to me. I Really appreciate that!! Edited by rhapsodion

Oh wow!! That is now such a beautiful song, they are playing the music a bit different, it is sooo nice the way it is now, and the way Celine sings it. It really is a pity we dont have this version on the album. For me, its much nicer than before. Maybe they can put it as a bonus track or whatever on the DVD we're supposed to be getting after Christmas, can something like that be done? Sorry i'm sounding stupid now, but i'm not very clued up on that kind of stuff. Lets hope we can maybe get the song that way.

Exactly, it's precisely in these moments when Celine makes these covers her OWN! Something she didn't achieve (imho) with At Seventeen, Overjoyed, How Do You Keep The Snooze Audience Awake or Lullabye! And what do you say of these faster arrangements? It's so much better than in Vegas! ^_^

 

I LOVE this COVER!!! :blush: :blush: :blush: Lucky bastards the japanese fans and shame on Sony and Céline's team for keeping this song in the dark for the rest of the world :innocent:

Same here!!! I'm happy. I received an e-mail yesterday and they will ship another vinyl for free to replacement! :-)

It's not her bit hit.

 

Not her biggest hit but Open Arms is still a very well known song by Mariah in Europe. Very few know here that it's not an original song of her (but of Journey) and hence they identify Mariah with it.

so true. This could have been one of the best songs on the new album. Why didn't they replace lullaby with open arms??
