I'm a bit disappointed too about the numbers....BUT Celine still does pretty good on the charts and also in terms of sales considering the music industry in general and compared to other popular artists. Moreover, most of the critics and reviews have been really really good about her new album and the response from her fans have also been excellent. On Twitter, I also read a lot of comments fron non fans who say that the album or the title track is very good. She is gaining fans! In my opinion, I think this era can't be better! Celine looks fantastic. She still sings amazingly and everyone is happy!! We couldn't ask for more!! Plus we have new music to listen to as much as we can!!! Let's stay positive and let's continue to spread her new music all around for other people to discover it!!!

 

I need to iterate the analogy that with good sales, there will be future albums. When I am saying albums meaning sellable studio albums rather than Best of This, or Essential Collection...If the sales figure are low, no producer wants to invest and prefer the songs to be sung by other artists, leaving with mediocre materials (if there is a future album).

No clue. Went to look up a song on my phone and on hte iTunes main page it had a section titled trending and eminem's new album was first and LMBTL was second under trending

Well if go with your reasoning, next year, there will be only 3 artists making new albums...Eminem, Gaga and Perry! CELINE IS #2!!! Not #145!!!!

So what? Have you seen the sales now? Like somebody else said, 77 000 copies sold in one week is great nowadays! And who knows, maybe she won't wait 6 years for the next album... Don't forget, she had a French album, a show in Vegas and 2 more babies! :)

Adam Lambert sold 78000 copies for the first week and RCA already wanted him to do a cover songs of album and he had to seek other label as he was reluctant..

Who told you she would not record any albums until 2019? She is in Vegas now and we got 2 albums in one year! In terms of money maker, please don't compare Adam Lambert to Celine! ;) they are in different leagues even if their album sales are similar....Anyway, in the long run, Celine will sell more than him for sure! The album won't stop selling tomorrow... and Xmas is coming!

Adam's first week US sales may be similar to Celine's, but his international sales are nowhere near hers. It's not even comparable. Also it remains to be seen how this album will ultimately do. It's been one week. Yes, an underwhelming week, but the bulk of the promotion is yet to be done.

it's not my point...But anyway they chose to invest in the promo instead... They should have done both I agree...but the second single is not released yet...Let's wait to see if we are gonna have a music video before complaining....

I am not comparing them, I am comparing how label record treat artists nowadays...

 

Once they are less profitable, they will tend to less invest.

but Adam doesnt not have a career like Celine, he barely had 2 hits... I would not invest too much on him either... Celine is generating much more money than him...

Good. AMA is a stupid unimportant award show. The Grammy Awards is a much better place for Celine to shine. AMA is for what's in and current. Surely isn't that... anymoooooooooooore.

she could do a pre recorded live performance for the AMAS from one of the concerts in Belgium/Paris to be shown at the Amas the 24th... that would definitely be a good promotion! (sometimes I wish I was her manager... grgrgrgr)

The AMAs propelled TAKING CHANCES to its peak position on the BB HOT 100!

What? The album opened and peaked at #3 in the USA then dropped to #8 for the next 2 weeks. The AMA aired 2 weeks after the release of the album. :huh:

BB HOT 100 is the singles chart ;). Taking Chances (song) peaked at #54 due to downloads after the AMAs

:lol: Gotcha! :) Still... if the bump was for a peak position of #54, then it wasn't really that much at all :( Seriously. What was the bump percentage? I don't have numbers for the previous week but it couldn't have been that much :/
