LukeD Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:17 PM Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:17 PM this was an AWFUL performance it sounds dreadful. she needs to rest and quick. really off key the chorus and she looks so strained and ill Υοu have no clue what you're talking about. 3 Quote
dlh1 Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:18 PM Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:18 PM You all love to complain, but you know you'll still buy her albums, still tune in to see her on TV, still read about her in magazines. Did anyone see how incredible she was in Quebec in July? That was one of my favourite ever Celine shows! 5 Quote
Bóól'át'í Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:18 PM Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:18 PM The performance was OK, not great. But she's still a better singer than the talent out there. 1 Quote
LukeD Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:21 PM Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:21 PM We shouldn't drag Whitney Houston's name under the bus every time Celine doesn't do well. Just sayin'.... I agree. Actually we shouldn't be dragging anyone's name under the bus in order to excuse Celine's bad moments! Thing is this perfomance was not bad, so I have no idea why people either get offensive or defensive about it. We shouldn't compalin, we shouldn't excuse. She did fine. 2 Quote
Kyle_Jared Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:21 PM Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:21 PM (edited) We shouldn't drag Whitney Houston's name under the bus every time Celine doesn't do well. Just sayin'.... I'm just simply pointing out what singers of her 'generation' have sounded like at times---because some of you *CENSORED* so much over, in my opinion, minor flaws. As Celine fans we should be proud. She hardly croaked out this performance. The woman can still sing. (unlike some, that really did loose it) And for that, we should be grateful. This is not 1996... On a positive note, the album and single are climbing (slowly) back up the iTunes U.S. chart. Edited September 11, 2013 at 09:25 PM by Kyle_Jared 3 Quote
Javito Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:25 PM Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:25 PM (edited) Honestly, I don't give a damn if she didn't sing 100% well or not, or if she hit this or that note, I just know she CAN sing it and she WILL, and that's enough to know for me I love my p'tit quebeçoise and she has all the right to have a bad day or be sick for whatever reason. As if none of you have ever went to work in sick conditions and not able to give 100%! What I do care is the lame and pathetic management that Sony and Céline's team are doing in twitter, not updating it daily with the TV alerts several times a day, with the artwork of this album using the same photos that had been already used for the promotion of SA and especially, not releasing the VIDEOCLIP right now while she's appearing on so many TV shows. What are they waiting for????? From an artistic point of view, they're failing again with the finished product. 0 creativity. ZERO! As if there weren't enough photos in the Alix Malka photoshoot to use one different each day from here until the 5th november! Edited September 11, 2013 at 09:28 PM by Javito 7 Quote "Hush, now... Popular Post Your_Su_Phu Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:27 PM Popular Post Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:27 PM (edited) Just in case people didn't see it on the last page http://i44.tinypic.com/292wwea.gifWE ALL GET SICK.Even during her youth you will find WORSE performances because her voice - like any human being's - gets affected by illness, fatigue, stress, etc.She has always bounced back with amazing performances. Why does everything have to be so black and white. Why does she always have to be either the greatest singer in the world or a washed up has been who has lost her voice? EternalSunshine Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:29 PM Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:29 PM (edited) Do you think it would be helpful to put out another single before the album gets it release? Maybe the single with NeYo would do better. A Little help from your friends ..... If they let the first single die because they're so pathetic that they are unable to release first a lyric video and then a videoclip (which should have been released both of them already) to help and support the single's promotion in the social media, they'd better put out a new song by the 5th of november to draw the attention again... stevo Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:33 PM Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:33 PM I liked it. I think the fact she moved a bit more showed that she may have been a bit more comfortable- she didn't have the fluidity that she had in Une Seule Fois but I enjoyed it. She's the best 3 Quote

Your_Su_Phu Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:42 PM Posted September 11, 2013 at 09:42 PM It is a bit worrying that she seems to get sick once a year though, even with the reduced shows. Then again it might just be her bad luck at catching a bug during her travels and meeting so many people/fans Quote

empress Posted September 11, 2013 at 10:01 PM Posted September 11, 2013 at 10:01 PM Not sure what you guys are complaining about. I am a musician and singer. I thought she did fine for a live performance, in fact I wondered if she was lipping because the pitch was so good during most of the song from the beginning. Man! Give her a break. 1 Quote
garçon Posted September 11, 2013 at 10:02 PM Posted September 11, 2013 at 10:02 PM There have been maaaaaany comments on the performance already.Still - how vain - I'd like to add a few notions to the discussion. Although she still understands very well how to present herself convincingly, we all have to agree this is the second time in less than a week she slipped, nearly cracked, lost tone a few times singing the song. We're still not really used to that. Moreover, this is the most important momentum of emergence of the new song. Quote
Shaun Posted September 11, 2013 at 10:03 PM Posted September 11, 2013 at 10:03 PM Better, not brilliant, is how I would best describe the performance. Can't wait to see the interview though.
