Second single: "Incredible" - Duet with Ne-Yo

I think that if it's going to be included on Ne-yo's new album this summer, that it might quite possibly be his lead off single if they're waiting til the end of March to release the video. A lot of lead off singles are released months in advance, so this could be it. Don't take my words for bible, it's just a theory. But it makes sense.

But if it gives Celine exposure to new fans they might be interested enough to buy her CD as well. This can only be a positive thing.

I think it's safe to say that the song is dead in the water. I'm sure the video will show up for purchase on iTunes one day with no promo or announcement and then weeks later celinedion.com will put it up saying "Have you seen Céline's classic video for her hit "Incredible"? It's the perfect video to watch while you drink out of your Céline Dion versatile water bottle that we've been selling since 2003!"

Well, I don't think that the delay has anything to do with Rene because it was shoot in January....

 

In my opinion, they should abandon Incredible because it could have been a success if it had been released after The Voice, now it's just the waste of time and money on promotion. The single is dead and nothing will help it, now even the video won't do any good. For the summer, they should release a totally new single or abandon the album because honestly I don't think they can boost the sales again, they missed their chance.

 

What I don't understand though is the show, they changed the posters, merchandise and ...? nothing. Incredible is a nice addition to the show but it's just out of the blue as far as the setlist is concerned. They should come up with more changes and create a segment with post 2002 songs only... Incredible between BATB, ABM, O, AS and NMQ is weeeeeeeeeeeeird. It doesn't fit the show at all

It doesn't have to be like this... sometimes singles are kind of resurrected time after... they are rolling silently and then... BUM! It is a huge sucess... For Us, Incredible is kind of old... dead... But for those that already haven't listen to it... or maybe just remember of listen it once.... for them...if they relunch the single.. it will be a NEW single...

 

A quick example, Pharrell Williams' "Happy", The song was released on July when Despicable Me 2 movie was released.... and it is now, on February 2014 that it has become a HUGE SUCCESS worldwide... being the leading single of Pharrell new album that came out on March... Happy, without all the promo it would have been another funny song from another funny animated film, like all the songs Pharrell Williams made for the first Despicable Me, "Prettiest Girls" or "Fun Fun Fun", that have the same style, are the same good feeling but didn't have that success... Of course there is a lot of other factors that make Pharrell being HUGE right now... like all the collaborations he had in the last year, specially the Blurred Lines... BUt... what I mean, is that there is a lot of songs that are months and months in the last positions in charts... and suddenly, a commercial promo, or a special video or special event (like Ne-Yo new album) can make that songs come alive again.... because at the end... Incredible is only old for us... I think probably anyone around me , if I show them Incredible... it would be the very first time they hear that song...

Yes, it's true, many have not heard this song so it'll be new to them. My mom and I along with my aunt and 2 cousins went to Celine in Vegas this past Tuesday and my aunt and 2 cousins had never heard incredible until that night and they liked it, in fact they then went and bought the new album after the show that they did not know about either. (I've tried telling them but they don't listen well! LOL)

So yes a song can be rediscovered or "new" to people who had never heard it before. But for that, a song has to get some major exposure... We can't give up on Celine!

The album is full of great songs and deserves some hit singles. She needs this and more music videos ("Water and a Flame", for instance).

 

In 1995, "Think Twice" made Celine a star in Europe almost 2 years after the release of the album "The Color of My Love". People just need to listen to her songs again, because "Loved Me Back To Life" has potential to be a major hit album. Promotion, Sony... Promotion!

When artists do a duet that appears on both artists' albums, the duet always feature's that album's artist first. For example on LTAL, "Tell Him" says 'duet with Barbra Streisand' and on Barbra's "Higher Ground" it appears as 'duet with Celine Dion' Now, Incredible never was titled as "featuring" Ne-yo. I've always seen it as "Incredible" (Duet with Ne-yo) or "Incredible" Celine Dion & Ne-yo.

"Happy" has been getting it's airplay and becoming well known since before the Oscars. In November of 2013, it was released as a "single" as part of a campaign called "24 Hours of Happy" and then it was re-issued in December by Back Lot Music (Pharrell's record label?) under exclusive license to Columbia Records. I had been hearing it a lot on the radio throughout the winter leading up to the Oscars.

I never even thought about re-issuing the album. A real deluxe edition this time. They could release the single with the video, and then re-issue the album for release either on the same day as Ne-yo's album or a week after. That would be very smart.

Not at all! On the contrary! It has been climbing both in chart position and in spins on the AC daily chart. It's now at ita peak so far.

 

That means she will probably climb on the weekly chart next week. (She was #28 on the weekly chart last week when charting at #36, #33 and so on the daily chart. That's because other songs are falling during the week and Céline's stay still).

 

The AC chart is very slow, but it can also give longevity to a song. As long as it keeps on climbing 4 positions every week she could reach a nice peak when the video os release and maybe Ne-Yo generates some buzz around it. I think he has been saving himself for his new album!

I know on Céline's album is says "Duet with Ne-Yo" but I remember seeing on a radio station's website "Céline Dion featuring Ne-Yo". Which is kind of strange because it really is a duet.

 

As for Happy, well maybe the song was already known in the US but, in many countries, it became a hit because of the Oscars.

"Happy" was popular before the Oscars. The song has been used on several commercials in the US and Good Morning America has used it before the Oscars aired.

Thanks for sharing! I still miss the big bassdrum and the song sounds great. Barnev does a good job too although i like neyo's voice more. I agree that this setlist needs a radical fresh change. And look at this audience..sitting there like they are watching a movie. What a dull audience. I would not be inspired singing for such dull crowds each night. I bet she often misses paris and antwerp!

I think they did a great job in that performance. She seemed to be enjoying herself.

As for the audience, I've always felt that the Vegas audience is different than when you see an artist somewhere else. I'm talking about those who do the residency shows, not those who come in for one or two night during their world tours.
