You also have to look at it from Sony's perspective. Fairly small investment.. and they sell 1.3 million albums (shipment anyway so far). They are selfish and $$$$ is all they want. They don't really care in investing in someone who has already had 30-year career and made them TONS of money!!! :jumped:

Radio is the missing link. ..cant stress this enough...they clearly mentioned they wouldnt send it to top 40.....they should have paid for this...1.3 million could have been 2.3 million by mid December. ...that's what is frustrating. ..I think by comparing her to the other artists of today we have lowered the bar for Celine. Guys this is Celine Dion one of the greatest artists ever on the planet and sounding in the best shape of her life...no one should be able to touch her....the rewards would have been there...but invest!!!!

 

do you expect her to sell like she did 15 years ago? of course she won't!!! those sales were extraordinary, she was at her prime. NOBODY can hold on to their prime for 2 decades selling the same amount of albums.

 

 

She's still showing she's the queen at that's what matters! she's still relevant guys! But let Adele grab the #1 Year End spot

I want to believe there's something planned for after the holidays, but knowing them... maybe I'll be :mellow: come January.

I think the Olympics ship has sailed. If 'Incredible' was indeed the theme song, the Olympics organizers would have debuted the song closer to/at the games. Now that the song has already been released it doesn't make sense to officially tie it into the games. After all, if you commission something you'll make sure to use it for its intended purposes and not use it for other purposes. Maybe just as another song whose lyrics match the the spirit of the games but not as the theme song. Just check out the best Olympics song ever - 'One Moment In Time' by Whitney. That wasn't the theme song of the Seoul Olympics.

Let's hope not. I don't know why but there was actually gonna be a music video to LMBTL and NOT the live video they tried to pass as a sorry excuse. A couple of us had gotten that news and we really don't know what actually happened and why it was scrapped. Probably cos it never went off.

 

 

 

Oh, and to everyone who has been saying that Sony should send the single to the radio stations, I did not want to reveal this earlier but here is a flash news:

 

Sony DID send the song to radios. They even bought a radio deal with Clear Channel for a day in the US and with BBC Radio 2 in the UK (not sure about other countries) but you know what, after the deal was done, the radio DJs flatly refused to play her. So if you want to blame someone, go pick up the phone and ask your local radio stations' DJs why they're snubbing anything related to the name 'CELINE DION'. Call it ageism or outright boycott, some of the DJs even sent back the promo CD of LMBTL to Sony.

 

So tell me everyone, if the radios are refusing to play her songs, what makes you think it would be even worthwhile shooting a music video to an already flop and DOA single? For YouTube? Sorry, but in one of their annual reports during the Taking Chances era, it was found statistically that less than 20% of her audience is the YouTube audience. The ones who are online don't even bother with her name on it. Why waste money in that and not use that same money on getting her on shows like The Voice, which definitely did help the sales and it will help with getting the album placed a little higher.

 

Please do not beat the dead horse over and over again. If you want to crib and complain, pick up the damn phone or write to the DJs on major radio stations.

 

In the meantime, I, along with a lot of my friends are gonna sit back and enjoy this fantastic album!

I am really not surprised by this, even wondered myself if radio stations just wouldn't play it. Makes some sense to me now.

That's from BTS of the concert DVD that will come out in Summer/Fall 2014 ;)

Not exactly. They're quite pleased with the album sales in most countries. It's just the US that they seem to be stumped. Germany and Australia were already boycotting her even in the TCh era so nothing surprising, but the utter failure in Japan is somewhat asked for as there were no TV interviews, no tie-ups with TV Soaps (that's what makes a song very popular there) and almost nil magazine promotion. No idea what happened there.

Oh yeah, especially when they had LMBTL being promoted with Grey's Anatomy, which I think is pretty popular there :hmm:
