Well he had mentioned that there might be a B album!! Of course this had been planned for a looooong time... And releasing it for the holidays was NOT a surprise $$$$$.... Basically it recounts the relationship between artist, record company and iTunes during the whille process of the surprise album - from conception, to recording, to release. It gives an unprecedented account of the three entities working closely together in creating and selling the album in complete secrecy. I'll post the link when I find the article. Quote

I went on the Itunes US page and saw like 10 different banners for Beyonce's "surprise" album and no mention of Celine. Even on "recent releases" there is no mention of LMBTL while Avril and all the CDs that came out in the last few months are there. Sony is going to miss an opportunity if they don't send this to Top 40 radios and AC. What angers me is that they can make this be a successful album, but they would rather throw Celine (their ca$h cow) under the bus and promote other artists. Truly sad. 2 Quote

This and the fact that 'Loved Me Back To Life' peaked within the Top 40 on I tunes show Celine has potential to sell singles. It's all about how her label promotes her. They should have sent the song to Top 40 radio, make a radio deal and release a music video. The masses will eat up that Celine is not un-cool if the media promote her that way. It's not as if people would never download her stuff, she reached Top 20 in Uk out of nowhere. That said, I'm not complaining, because her TV promotion in all key markets has been incredible! 2 Quote

It's like getting the last page on a magazine or a newspaper, where the biggest bidder or the one who got the most money in anticipation paid for such advertisement. I believe Beyoncé's team struck a secret deal days before the album was released to give iTunes some kind of exclusive and they paid so she'd have those multiple banners for a week or so. In the end it's all about the money. No matter what artist would love to have a banner on iTunes, they can't because of that deal. Once it's over, it's back to normal: pay or don't have no darn banner. 2 Quote
