When do you know that Autotune is being used? Have you got some examples where it easily can be heard? :X I'm just wondering!

 

 

at the beginning lol and maybe " made" " like this, like that " idk hard to tell coz they recorded this after

is this a lipped song? do they use autotune on lipped track?
Plus qu'ailleurs , but now Si c'était à refaire , i still love tant de temps....

yeah it is, but they did a new version after, to be different from the live in Vegas one .. well for me they auto tune lipped track as well

u guys are talking bout auto tune on the tv broadcast but i can not really notice.. well.. sometimes like the high note in LMBTF ( but i think they just put the track louder to "hide" the vocals ) , but in general i cant .-.

im trying to find videos from people who were there to compare

I may be wrong here, but if you listen to the actual performance of LMBTL from USF it's got a unique sound to it. Compare that to the vevo video for instance. Doesn't sound the same. Still good, but more clarified, if that makes sense.

I'm very surprised they didn't correct that mistake by using a different camera shot (not looking at Celine) and replacing those vocals with the same part sung correctly from Bercy. It's not as if they didn't have any other audio to use in case of issues like that! :doh:

 

On the SLP DVD they somehow corrected Garou's mistake during Sous le vent... :hmm:

 

Lazy and easy.

The actual song was lipped but they rerecorded it for the dvd, to show it was live. So it looks lipped on the dvd, and she did lip that track during tour.

That's what I meant. It's really not like the studio version, they've just majorly edited it.

Is that what happened with TPOL? Actual recordings sound different from live in boston DVD.

I really dislike how all of Celine's live releases since the turn of the decade use auto-tune to polish it. It's a LIVE recording, there's no need for polishing. A live recording includes all the impurities of a performance, whether it be forgetting lyrics, missing a note, or sounding a little off.

Thank you very much! This is why I like the CQMTA performance. Even though she came in late once, you still could see she's singing live, you know? It's amazing though :)

It's not easy for everyone, but if you have a good ear for music, and if you know Celine's voice properties, it's easier for sure.

 

I give you one example, you can listen to the live broadcast for VH1 Divas 2002 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVKCF0VmLLE...

 

and after that the edited DVD version

You'll tell me the sound is better for the last version, but it has nothing to do with that. In ANDHC, they have fixes the word "Love" (at 3:57), and compare the "Believe" (at 3:53) with the original broadcast, it's clearly auto-tuned. Overall, the differences are almost everywhere in that performances...

 

If you want to listen to performances from her where they abused from that effect : just listen to Can't Help Falling In Love (live in Las Vegas 2007), or God Bless America (Rockin' for the USA 2002).

Yes, they always tend to auto-tune all tracks from her concerts (A New Day DVD, TCWT release & USF live recording), maybe to have a more homogeneous rendering.

So, they alter live tracks + playback tracks + also dubbed tracks (like the playback performances re-recorded for TCWT live album).

There are also backing tracks for the background singers : everything we hear from them is not always live. And the same thing goes for the musicians, anyway : that's the way those kind of pop performances are made.

You can just tell that from the original broadcast, it's much more genuine and natural. The tone in the touched-up version is not as natural, in my opinion.

Ok, back to topic...

 

 

Celine... une seule fois / Live 2013 is now available to pre-order as an import on Amazon UK. However, the release date given is 27 May (hopefully this will change) :wacko:

In terms of pricing, both editions are currently slightly more expensive than Amazon.fr, although UK customers will benefit from the free shipping. However, when I pre-ordered both editions on Amazon.fr the shipping to the UK was only €3.16 before taxes, so really there is very little difference in total cost between the two websites. :)
