Just realised the link I posted above doesn't work!

Céline... une seule fois / Live 2013 Amazon MP3 download:

Amazon.co.uk: http://www.amazon.co... une seule fois

Amazon.fr: http://www.amazon.fr... une seule fois

Amazon.de: http://www.amazon.de... une seule fois

Anyone know what the exchange rate is? For example $9.99 on Amazon UK in Euros, would be how much in US dollars? I'll still prob pre-order the mp3 there anyways, just curious.

You totally messed with my head there lol. I *think* the question you're asking is how much is £9.99 in both US dollars and Euros? LOL

If that is the question then £9.99 currently equals $16.85 and €12.14.

Hope that helps. :flowers:

I still wish we'd get Bercy. She even messed up the ending. Also, somehow the song doesn't have the same (faster) pace.... Compare:

And, of course, her voice was stronger in Bercy.

It's funny actually because usually Celine improves when she is singing a song more often and with CQMTA it's the first performance on TVA which gave the biggest goosebumps

I'm very surprised they didn't correct that mistake by using a different camera shot (not looking at Celine) and replacing those vocals with the same part sung correctly from Bercy. It's not as if they didn't have any other audio to use in case of issues like that!

On the SLP DVD they somehow corrected Garou's mistake during Sous le vent... :hmm:

Yeah guys I totally agree!! It's just sloppy and 'i-don't-care' work

I have a feeling I will get a bit annoyed with USF, cos she'll be looking at the monitors a lot for the songtext, while in Paris she didn't need them at all

Jesus. Celle qui m'a tout appris is not made available in the US.

For those that think the US gets everything, remember we don't have any live album (except for the English ones) nor Sans attendre.

Edit: It is streaming on her website.

I must say, the only song I've ever listened to from this concert was LMBTL when it was first shown. I wanted first to wait for the concerts at Bercy (so I'd be surprised) and now the DVD release. I am getting a anty.

They could have filmed that show and not had the need to use auto tune - just like ACDS - where they didn't use it AT ALL.

I don't think the use of auto-tune really deals with her voice condition. In fact, she actually never uses it "live" when she sings in front of an audience, so it prooves that her team is not ashamed for the imperfections (she just have to adapt herself to vocal aging, and she's doing it fine, if you ask me).

Okay, she was flat sometimes (look at "L'amour existe encore" from USF) and it's annoying, but as you said, they could have used recordings from Paris where it was better with her corded microphone, and no vocal modifications were needed.

In my opinion, it's first and foremost a problem of pressure from the music industry. They uses auto-tune since her 2001 studio recordings (A New Day Has Come... One Heart... Miracle... Taking Chances... Loved Me Back To Life). In her French album, no auto-tune, except for "Ne me quitte pas" (but originally recorded for LMBTL, so it makes sense).

In some of her live performances, they also uses auto-tune since 2002 (from that year: take the CBS Special, Oprah performances of ANDHC & AL, Divas Las Vegas, Rockin' For The USA, World's Children Day). Since 2007, it became more significant (thanks to Productions J especially). But overall, they used it for her Live in Las Vegas CD & DVD, Taking Chances World Tour live album & now for her USF / Live 2013 album.

What's not logical at all, it that when a technology is invented, it must be improved over the years. In this case, with auto-tune, it's the opposite !

When her voice was tactfully adjusted (in a quite refined way) in ANDHC studio album or in her live performances from that year... now 12 years later (but roughly since 2007), they uses auto-tune in a rush, like a cheap tool. Nothing surprising if we consider that music industry is collapsing, so why would they invest for quality when it has nearly nothing to do with their sales and profits ?

Even autotune couldn't save the Live in Las Vegas CD. The DVD is great, but at the time the CD was recorded her voice sounded AWFUL. So nasally and forced. I can't listen to those tracks without cringing.

I don't think autotune was used on the 2004 Vegas CD. I can't think of any part where it's obvious if it was used...

When you play the DVD and compare the same playback tracks to the CD, the vocals are far more processed on the DVD. Autotune was used quite obviously in places, for example, in IACBTMN: "every memory you and I have ever made" and MHWGO: "we'll stay forever this way". Although the 2004 CD was vocally appalling, it is a far more authentic recording without all the post-production given to all her later live releases.

Agree, auto-tune has never been able to improve intonations & vocal properties ; it just affects pitch for the notes, and regulates the vibrato.

When they record the CD in November 2003, she was facing a difficult vocal period with her first year of AND show, so nothing miraculous with post-production.

That live can be seen as a caricature of her reminding us she was at one point the 90's ultimate diva. But fortunately, today she's still able to show us that she still has it, (even if it's in less occurrences).

You're right, it's far more processed on the DVD, and globally in all her auto-tune appearances since 2007. In the Las Vegas CD, listen to the first note of "Nature Boy" (THERE), or YOU'LL (at 3:30) and you'll have examples of how it is processed. The notes are carefully adjusted, but nothing irritating like in the DVD for sure. It shows that over the years, they're using the effect like a random tool. Even I'm Alive from Divas Las Vegas 2002 is better processed than the same song from Boston/Montreal concert in 2008 for instance.

The problem is always the same, why auto-tune was not such a silly thing in her studio/live career in the 2001-2006 period, and after that it became a king of monstrosity ? Music industry has chosen its way of development, and it's sad that one of their all-time best seller is affected by that.

I think the songs were also just produced better during that period. Autotune has become the Instagram of the music industry - take 5 seconds and throw a quick filter on a song, and if it makes the song sound slightly better on first listen, move on to the next instead of really producing/mixing the song and making slight adjustments until it's perfect.

What I find the most shocking is how quickly her voice deteriorated. In 2002 her voice was flawless, and in September 2002 she gave one of her most powerful vocal performances of that year at World Children's Day. In just 6 months, her voice had gone from clear, full and powerful to thin, weak and strained, as it had already started to go by the opening night of AND. From then on, it only got worse with the heavy nasal tone that had set in by 2004.

I'm so glad she's finally over that now! Apart from the exceptional period of amazing vocals in early 2008 on the TCWT, I don't think she truly recovered from the AND problems until 2011 when she came back with her new Vegas show. Since then the quality of her vocals has been extremely consistent, although I have noticed the clearer voice has left her more prone to going off-key (which rarely happened when she sang through her nose). Let's hope her vocal training continues and we never have a repeat of the AND era! :giggle:

When do you know that Autotune is being used? Have you got some examples where it easily can be heard? :X I'm just wondering!
