"Unfinished Songs" - Theme song from the movie "Song for Marion"

Well these things come to mind:

 

1st Mariah has an English song out, PAMP was a French song, which is only interesting for only I dunno 10% of Céline's market

2nd OZ is a huge Disney production, which comes with a lot of promo, more than the British almost arthouse type of movie A Song For Marion

3rd Unfinished song doesn't have an official videoclip, which makes it harder to attrack people to the song, and it's not a single for now, unlike Almost Home...

 

 

might i add that i don't care, we are not even sure it is Mariah singhing for most of the song. She is in the video doing what she does best, lascivious move, not appropriate at all for the song if you ask me.

How is Mariah's song doing on the charts??? (considering the huge promo...)

If you try to play the album and the movie versions at the same time, you'll see that the movie version of BYLM and TYLAM are lowered (just a little less than 1 semitone, so that's not so much I agree). To me, it's just like it deepens a little her voice.

For MHWGO, yeah, there's only one studio recording we've heard (the same for the soundtrack and the album version).

But, in the album version for the "On-belt", the engineers just created a "fake" long note with the vocals they had (and well made actually ^^).

Yeah, all is about promotion. However I'm pretty sure the upcoming album will have it.

sorry to keep the topic off the issue (but we are also dicussing the differences with the soundtrack versions/a;bum versions) but if you go to 2,40 on this video celine tells you herself she never rerecorded MHWGO, just to clear it up, she admits that she was wrong not to like the song, did the demo and then never did another recording

There is clearly 2 songs.

 

Celine is not lying, she's basically making a long story short.

The demo was used for the soundtrack (dot)

She never recorded the song again [for the soundtrack].

 

Nobody needs to know the story abt LTAL version. At least thats what she thinks.

Oh come on...it's definitely Mariah singing. Her voice may not be in the shape it was in the 90s/Early 2000's, but the woman can still carry a tune. And honestly I think "Almost Home" is her best vocal in the past 10 years. It absolutely is her. Regardless of whether or not they auto tuned her a little bit, it fit the song.

We can't even compare them, because to start with, Almost Home is having a massive promotion, whereas Unfinished Songs... ermmm... can we even mention the word "promotion" with it? For the "on-belt", the beginning of the sentence is the same on both versions (so it comes from the same take), but NOT the end (the belted note). So, cleary, they have modified this by computer. But I cannot convince everyone about this, I agree.

For BYLM, I noticed a different thing when I listened to the remastered version (from the Best Of with David Foster - 2012). So, it's like they added some "clicks" every time (exept at this mark) she sings the "title" of the song. So, it enabled to correct the meaning.

Those are the promotion indicators we need. And Céline's song, far to not having even a poor video, it has not even been added in her official youtube channel :rolleyes:

 

Everything spreads in the Internet and one of the best indicators to know if one song or video is being "trendy" today is Youtube, and judging by those numbers, Céline's song just pales compared to Mariah's single. Flop or not, at least the public knows 12 times more (at least) that she has a new song

 

This only shows again that Celine's team sucks big time. Its just shameful that she has a new song in english released in a movie and they don't say a word about it.

Not sure about BYLM, it just might be that remastered version that disturb me ^^. For MHWGO, indeed, the big note comes quite ''roughly'' (compared with the soundtrack version), and also sounds to me a little unnatural (like a copy/paste of the vocals they had with some special effects added, can't describe...).

Unfinished songs not released as a single, people do not know it exists, so fans of Celine, Almost Home was officially released as a single before the clip and the movie was released is different, if they release unfinished songs as single surely these numbers views increase.

But Almost Home is a single, it was sent to radios, launched on iTunes, etc., Unfinished Song at the moment is nothing, I don't even think it's going to be a single. Go and ask Mariah fans what they think about how her team is doing things regarding Almost Home (her best some in years according to them, her My Heart Will Go On I even read) and they will complain as much as we do. I read on Ukmix than some of her fans watch the video 10-20 times every day to increase views

Well, then what was the point in involving Diane Warren and recording this song at all? In my opinion this song is good and it would be a shame if they didn't include it on the new album. I like it more than "Skies of LA"

Because they constantly ignore whatever new thing she does in music, either if its worth to be promoted or not, no matter if her last album has got great sales and critics and its crying to have many singles or if its been 6 years without a new english song... But then she comes with a new perfum they announce it with great fanfare as if everybody was waiting for that.

 

Let's see if they are saving their efforts for the next single of the new album, hope you're right
