I wonder what her team will decide for the music video. I know the song is about her dad, so i wonder if it will show footage of her dad.

 

I kinda hope it doesn't show her dad. Not anything against it showing him, but i would prefer to see all new material. If they show her dad, they would be showing old footage and i want this video to be completely new!!

 

I just hope that CD.com isn't teasing us, saying that the music video will come out in a few weeks. To them that could mean 4 months.

I took a look on Spotify’s lost of most played Céline songs and found the new French single among the 20 most played Céline songs! With NO promo. And this being one of two French songs that high in the list (the second one was PQTME and the third one is the sem french IBIY way down on the list and after that even further JSP).

*Thanks to the crappy system on Spotify the same song will appear on many places in the list, since it appears on many releases (if they would change this - and not have the same song being included on many albums look as if there's many different versions of that song - we'd have a better list and these songs having an even higher frequency of popularity acknowledged to them).

 

I amazed that Parler À Mon Père is so high. Like I said. No promo - or has there been secret promo I don't know of - and yet this song with no particular hit single strength still miraculously manages to climb this high on her most played tracks on Spotify. Remarkable. And yes, it is higher than all time hits such as I'm Your Angel, To Love You More, Immortality, The Reason, Where Does My Heart Beat Now and yes even Love Can Move Mountains (which is extremely low on the chart, even behind You Shook Me All Night Long, maybe something to consider when planning the concert set lists? )

It indeed is. And God knows how many times I've listened to my favourite tracks (of many artists, not only Céline) and that does nothing to boost up the ranking of those tracks. So this track must have been listen to A LOT by many people. That's why I brought the whole thing up.

 

To me this indicates a real hunger for new material from Céline. Hope people's interest wont fade due to contunied weird single selection and lack of promo though.

The list is very contemporary. It's an indicator of what Céline tracks people listen to the most in the new centery - not in the 90ies. And the reason why I brought up where her other French tracks were in the list was so that you could see that these users listen to her English work MAINLY (it doesn't seem to me that they mainly represent francophone countries - my first thought that Spotify had become huge in France for example) and therefore it was even more interesting that PAMP was in the list (and that high in it).

wow, if the first single from the French album was so successful with no promo, I can't wait for the first extract from the English one!!

The song is nice, I like it, but it's not radio friendly enough to be the lead single of the French album. It's too soft and it lacks the edgyness of ''Tout L'or Des Hommes'' or the catchyness and the powerfullness of ''Et S'il N'en Restait Q'une''.

 

Many French fans from a Celine francophone forum (most member are from France) complaint about PAMP. They mainly say that the song is forgetable.

1988 Eurovision winner Céline Dion’s new single “Parler à mon père” (see previous article) is enjoying incredible success in her native Quebec. Meanwhile in France, the single entered the chart at position 32 last week which is quite a disappointing start (while Loreen, the 2012 Eurovision winner, has re-entered the French charts at position… 178!). The song will most probably gain better success in the coming weeks with more important media coverage of the release of her new album. Céline Dion will promote her new material on France 2 right after summer and a special show dedicated to the Canadian diva is also announced on sister channel France 3.
