Changes to the show?

I really wanna see Thankful incorporated some how. It's soooooo good! I love it. I was thinking Always Be Your Girl and Thankful could go right after one another.

I think that if songs from LMBTL haven't been incorporated into the show yet, it's not going to happen. Perhaps they will use the slot where "Incredible" is to cycle the latest single in, but I doubt we're going to see any major changes/overhauls. I also could see "Incredible" removed completely after the summer to keep the show shorter.

I hope I'm wrong. I had really high hopes for this show but it's definitely not evolving the way I think it COULD if it was managed/produced correctly. When I think of all of the songs Céline added/removed during the 5 year "A new day..." run:

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face

Et je t'aime encore

In Some Small Way

Nature Boy

What a Wonderful World

Have You Ever Been In Love

At Last

Fever

All the Way

A New Day Has Come

Pour que tu m'aimes encore

With few exceptions, when something was removed, it was REPLACED by another song. For "Céline" we've only seen the MJ Medley removed and not replaced, RITD added then removed, LMBTL added then removed, and the ONE addition of "Incredible." Really disappointing.

Sadly I agree! Although I didn't care for the MJ number it easily could have and should have been replaced by something else from her.

The show does feel rushed, to me anyway.

I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.

Spinning Wheel needs to GO. We get shortened versions of The Reason, BYLM, IACBTM, TPOL and WDMHBN, but he sings the FULL song of Spinning Wheel. It doesn't fit in the show and is extremely boring. Barnev's voice =

I, personally, wouldn't go so far as to say Barnev's voice is boring. However, I do agree that it is disheartening that we get a shorter version of WDMHBN, while Barnev gets to perform "Spinning Wheel." I don't dislike Barnev at all, but if I were going to a Celine Dion concert, I sure as heck wouldn't want to entertained by one of her back-up singers (as pretentious and rude as that may come across).

A lot of this, I believe, has to do with the artistic director of the two shows. Franco Dragone ("A New Day...") is a very hands-on type of director. He likes to make sure his products are to his standards. However, the feeling I've gotten from Ken Ehrlich ("Celine") (and things I've heard/read about him) speak completely the opposite. I'm all for loyalty, but I think it's time for Ken to go and someone new to take over through 2019. Heck, shutter the show for a year to make something new and extend the contract to 2020 to make up for lost time if need be. That's my two cents.

Agreed but this will not happen. I don't think they want it to happen! ...............just coasting through................. This isn't bashing but I think there is always room for revamping! :) Edited by DionFanAlways

Correct. The show is selling out or close to selling out every night. In their minds, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." If the show wasn't selling, then they might feel the need to change it. It is, so therefore, no need to adjust and it can just coast along for another 5 years.

Yes but how artistically dead is she to do the same run night after night lip the same songs give the same speech verbatim for over three years now and on to another 5. They'd must hit a wall somewhere ---where it's just too painful Edited by Kyle_Jared

Her speeches are sounding so cheesy and scripted. I wish she would do what Cher does and just talk about whatever comes to her mind on the night and be funny.

If she really wants to slow down, I don't understand why she agreed to extend the contract. If she's gonna be artistically lazy about the whole thing because she'd rather be at home, then just retire. It annoys me when I see people do anything half-a$$ed, even myself. Plus, it's not like the kids won't have enough money to live off of when she and Rene have passed. The Dion estate will be worth millions for many years after all is said and done. I'd rather see Celine end her music career on a high note than one an artistically lazy one.

"The Power of Lo............ Rene" :giggle: ( that would be my guess)

Pretty much. I understand the thought process behind calling her career Rene's "masterpiece", but what good is a lifelong masterpiece if major milestones are neglected (i.e. "Misled" becoming her first #1 dance hit)?

I love that she said this in that it gives me hope she won't call it quits if and when he passes. However I agree they're passing up so many opportunities. Maybe if someone takes over we'll see some positive changes then?

Agreed. Granted, first and foremost, I want Celine to be happy. That's a given. However, there are things that her management and record labels can do that don't require much participation (if any) from her:

  • Better updates and communication at CelineDion.com
  • Better merchandise
  • Better compilations
  • Listening to and accepting fans' requests and input
  • Performing just one or two obscure songs from time to time (i.e. "This Time" for a domestic violence awareness fundraiser)
  • Working itineraries better to include countries such as Brazil and Turkey during tours and/or promotional gigs
  • Releasing more remixes and instrumentals
  • Releasing more CD-singles. (Could be released only via her website and in limited quantities of 5,555.)
  • Much, much more!

to superlove4celine You should put that over in CD.com and see what they have to say to this.

I don't even remember my TeamCeline account information. I don't even know what the new format of the site looks like outside of the homepage. LOL Maybe it's time I check things out?

hey superlove44celine, if u want, i can write down that info for you on celiness official website, i have an account on that website...

because i do think that what you have on here is what stupid sony should be working on & they dont need celine herself there to do most of these tasks, such as promotion & updating her website, fb page & twitter page, which are things that those lazy, ridicolous bums should have kept doing after the album was released instead of just giving up & throwing in the towel which is what theyre doing now...

Agreed! I was just at the Cher concert last week and her monologue was entertaining and she doesn't sound like a robot. They need to switch it up a bit.

Then I think about how Ken Ehrlich hasn't changed the stage and set of the Grammys in like five years, so we shouldn't be surprised...

yeah ehild, thats what im also wondering now since she has never talked about if she would continued w/ her career if & when rene passes away, & who would take over as manager after that day comes, because she always says that she doesnt trust anyone else besides rene & sony... if she did say thatvshe would continue on & that she would trust anyone else to manage her music career, then im curious as to who that would be, especially since shes very attached to rene all these years...

& i also agree w u ehild that sony & her team are still passing up soooo many wonderful opportunities for celine & the lmbtl album, i feel like they all have given up on her now it seems... :( :( i think that w/ his health being as bad as it is these days & because hes up in age, he might end up having to retire & hopefully someone else will step in so that celine doesnt end up becoming a recluse & hide... & that ken erlich guy who is directing her vegas show needs to go now, since hes not doing anything good for the show lately & if her show keeps going this way theres no way the show will last like this for 5 more years because most people will stop attending her shows by then & since her recording career is going down the tubes now she will be in real trouble if she also loses her vegas shows as well... :( :(

This is just speculation but I've heard that it's possible that Patrick would take over for Renee. I think he's probably one of the more trusted people she would go with, too.

oh that would be cool, if its true that is, but i think it is very realistic since patrick is renes son & therefore he is family & has been working w/ celine & rene on her vegas shows for years now... :) :) so it would make alot of sense to me to have him take over management for celine someday when the time comes...

because rene is getting up in age now & his health doesnt seem to be the greatest these days, & even though he has been a great manager for celine & has done so many wonderful things for her career & all, i think thst it might be time for him to retire, & let patrick or whoever take over the management... it seems to be too much for him these days, & we all know that celine loves him so much & cares about his health & well being so much, that she would rather want him to retire & rest & take better care of himself than to push himself too hard & make his health become even worse, so that way he can still be around more longer to be there for celine as her husband & for all 6 of his kids too of course, especially r.c. & the twins... :) :)

Geeze.....apparently we all think.....or dream.......alike. I had a random dream there was fan meet up. Somehow we all went from Vegas to Paris and we took some humongous tour with a gi-normous group of us through the streets of Paris singing all her songs in French. Quite odd how it all played out. I think the reason that may have happened is cause the last night in paris (or one night) she was outta the skylight in the car. The car was surrounded by fans and they were all singing JNVOP.

I wonder if the inclusion of "Water And A Flame" on the upcoming USF release is any indication of the song being added to "Celine."

I'd love that! That's one of the songs that would sound amazing in the show- and "thankful". I love that song

Is this from the article that quoted Celine as saying that Rene saw her career as his masterpiece, and, if anything ever happened to him, she would keep going for him? Because that was pretty much a direct quote from My Story, My Dream and about how Celine felt in *1992*, when she was just beginning her English language career. The way the article presented it, it sounded like something current, but it's not -- she's in a completely different place now.

I personally do think that Celine will sing, in some capacity, all her life, but I don't think that quote is that relevant now. And my guess for the next manager would be Dave Platel, who's been Rene's associate for years, and who took over when he had cancer in 1999.

I just hope Rene recovers completely and that Celine and Rene have many more years together, regardless of whether he's actively working or not.

I wonder if the Incredible video will coincide with any changes made and that announcement. And for the above mentioned reason that we'll see WAAF.
