Not the best update but at the minute a few things are still inconclusive, but there is a French & English album coming... there is just no release dates set at the moment.

 

When I get any other info. as usual, you guys will be the first to know!

Its me or it looks like Céline's team/Sony don't want to say a word about the upcoming CDs? I bet they knew much more in that meeting than just to confirm "she's working on a french and english albums"! Come on, René said exactly that many months ago!

I think they've reunited executives from all major Sony Music labels worldwide to decide if they include or not the Versatile Water Bottle of the CD boutique in the Vegas boutique and in her next TC contest (as a bonus gift for a minimum $30 purchase of course).

 

The second point of the meeting, and this was marked in red as "high priority", is to decide what will be the next re-release, design and format of FIY, LTAL and ANDHC albums, and how many of these they can release per year. ¿2? ¿10? ¿26? Is a tought decission.

Probablly how they don't have to do work, but yet get paid big bucks.

 

Of course they are going to milk it for as long as they can, they know all of us are interested now and they can keep us waiting. But I figured something was up when OWN cancelled the documentary 3 boys and a new show. Maybe we will get a show like Shania's but with Celine, I'm kinda shell shocked that Canada's two biggest female singers are working on albums at the same time. But if Celine is working with David Foster again then now is the time I guess, cause he's in full blown work mode for Shania's album.

As for the dance album thing… that has been thrown around the forum for years! There is nothing conclusive to elude to a dance album so drop it unless you want to start a thread about a 'rumored dance album'.

I don't want to ramble over the subject, but the rumored dance album was created by forums members in here that wished Celine would do a dance album; the funny thing about this rumour is that it has no evidence at all; it was all useless chit chat

Perhaps they are working undercover to advertise just before it comes out or once it's recorded. They won't be needed probably until then.

As with other albums we knew quite alot "Céline is harbouring the mystery" one of the articles read. Why not let her this time?

I suppose it could be quite annoying for people who want to know more, and I'm all for them asking and asking for more information.

They'll probably release a statement with information when they are ready and not before, it's like a baby or a cake in the oven, it's ready when it's ready and not a second before.

 

I really like all the predictions people are getting at, or what they want to come out of it. I think possibly collabs between writers is a good thing, mixes the flavours of their writing style to find a perfect balance for a perfect song, that "hopefully" Céline will like enough to record.

 

I do hope it's something good if not fantastic

I've been following this thread since the beginning and I have to say that, after all this time, I'm still really excited about this upcoming project. Whatever she decides to do this time (an uptempo album or an Evening Gown album) I'll like it anyway. And please don't get me wrong here guys, I'm not one of those fans who are happy with anything Celine does, regardless it's good or not for her career; I'm just too excited about her next English recording.

 

I think Sony hasn't been really smart about Celine's career during her hiatus, but, now that she's come back (to night and to day, like Open Arms hahaha) I guess they'll try to be a little bit more intelligent with the promotional tour and everything.

 

Let's put it this way: She's gonna be performing in Las Vegas for the next five years, away from show business. I'm afraid that, if the album is released this fall, it's gonna have the same poor promotion as One Heart had; she might perform a couple of singles from the album at the typical american TV shows, few interviews, new merchandise for Team Celine members and maybe include some of the new songs in the repertoire of the Vegas show.

 

It's obvious that she won't do a world tour to support the album, so I think they'll have to promote it very well, like they did with Taking Chances, for example, because, now like then, the album marks her return to studio after 4 years!

 

I'm also afraid that the album will have the same promotion as Whitney Houston's I Look To You, which wasn't bad, but not what I expected...

She should definitely do a kick-off concert when her new album comes out and sing the songs she recorded from this new album; what's the use of Celine recording new stuff if we will only hear 3 songs out of 18 songs recorded in her new concert. She did a concert that was entirely new material back in 1996 in a Montreal TV special; she should do that again; every major artist these days do GMA or the Today show concert events and sing new songs off his new record; that's what I want for Celine

Let's just hope that the kickoff concert isn't comprised of BYLM, LCMM, etc.... So tired of those two popping up in her promos. I was refreshed to see MHWGO and IDAN performed a bit at her last promo, but it's almost always those two songs!!

So agree,

 

I've forced myself to stomach LCMM cause I honestly think it's one of Celine's favorite songs to sing. (Even though sometimes it sounds like giberish) I think "Alone" "Eyes On Me" or "Fade Away" would be okay to go along with the promo. But most likely they'll have a special on CBS as usual.

See I don't want another TV Special of Celine because often the TV Special like the last ones we had are staged and they lack direct contact with the audience; the real audience the ones that actually go and buy the record. Her TJTWIM special and An Audience w/ Celine had an audience of celebrities and there wasn't enough interaction with a real public; the Today show concert series have the audience so close to the singer and the energy is so much different and ten times more realistic than her TV specials where she reads off a teleprompter to know what she has to do next.
