Nmj Posted July 13, 2011 at 04:26 PM Posted July 13, 2011 at 04:26 PM Two months ago, a popular writer in Malta posted the following on facebook: Gerard James Borgco-writing with Celine Dion writer... Fab! Let the creative juices roll!13 May at 21:22 So I guess there is something true with it....lets hope for a new great album Oh my god, could Co-writing with Celine mean shes writing!!!
KHee Posted July 13, 2011 at 04:46 PM Posted July 13, 2011 at 04:46 PM Great news! (even though it hasn't been confirmed yet...) So can I expect some changes in setlist for next year's shows??
Nmj Posted July 13, 2011 at 04:59 PM Posted July 13, 2011 at 04:59 PM IF a album comes out this year, "supposeably" novemeber, Celine would be off from Vegas until December so, my guess is yes they will add a few songs from the new album, it wouldn't make any sense at ALL if they didn't promote the album for a least awhile after it comes out!

Nmj Posted July 13, 2011 at 05:51 PM Posted July 13, 2011 at 05:51 PM What I'm curious to know is whether that was a mis-print or he really meant- Co-writing with CELINE! I hope he didn't mean co-writing for Celine... I really want album from her head and her standpoint there would be alot of personal songs ala my love for her and for the first time her english fans may get a glimpse of the artistic celine that the french fans already have.
artekoublier Posted July 13, 2011 at 06:09 PM Posted July 13, 2011 at 06:09 PM (edited) @ artekoublier Wellllllll i don't agree with you, cause i know where you are going and i think its for a dance album. Imo celine doesnt fit dance music, although she could and she would be great. I agree with you of getting out of confort zone, but she did it since 2002 with ANDHC ( 1/2 ballades 1/2 pop with fresh music) it was a great album, but then she intensified the diversity and left her confort zones ever since. The only thinng she hasnt done is dance, country ( god forbid she never do that) and maybe jazz. Other than that she has done it all. I dont think dance is her job. Leave it to brit, madonna and gaga. I think she should go back to ballades, reclame her trone, and show Houston, lewis and mariah, that she still owns her title of queen of powerballades. Can be young producers with fresh music. Thats is for sure. Im not asking for a copy-paste of the 90's albums. Can't you realized she hasnt done any powerballades albums in 15 years and that is time to come back to her roots ?! Aaaanyway A dance album? How could I have possibly eluded to that at all? The artists I recalled were for example purposes only. In no way did I say that at all. All I did say is that she needs to step out of her comfort zone and do something a little different to keep her loyal fans going as well as bring in new listeners who are possibly hearing her for the first time, which could in fact rocket the sales of her previous albums if they do their research.Yes she has done pop before. "Pop" actually mean "Popular Music" so I don't cleanly define it like that. It was partial in and out of the mainstream if in it at all. She came back too early in my opinion and tried to look fresh. And no she hasn't left her comfort zoned because the same people are writing songs for her, the same people are getting contacted by the likes of Rene etc and asked to write similar things. That's why I have no hope for this album. Are you just saying that because you don't like country? It;s a horrendously influential style, right across the states. And even though it's made fun of, it's true to life and less fake than making people write your own feelings for you. I feel that Céline has never expressed herself properly because people are expressing how they think she feels through songs. She said herself that she sings songs with words that her fans could believe that she would say. Why not write a few albums of her own then? She has the capacity and she's done it before. Why not now?She doesn't have a "throne", even though she's the most active out of the few you mentioned apart from Leona Lewis(I don't equate "new blood" as diva until they deserve it or are at least in part a bit older.), she doesn't need to be labelled as such either. Mariah hasn't released anything in about the past couple of years ad Whitney has totally lost her voice, so in vocal terms, Céline is still the strongest, but that doesn't mean we "need" another power-ballad album. Even she hates singing them, she's always longed for rockier and up-tempo beats. To me that's exactly where her best ballads come from and is exactly what you're asking based on your own personal preference and trying to back it up.I was just giving my opinion. And Roots? This isn't her roots! I can't believe how many times I have to explain this. Her roots in music are probably from when she was little growing up in Charlemagne, surrounded by the music they provided and what she say on TV as a child. Her "roots" are a cultural thing. As per my other example about Dolly Parton, irrespective if she's country or not when she brought out "Little Sparrow" in 2001 was about her going "back to her roots" and the kinds of songs that she would have heard growing out, kinda hillbilly, redwood like songs, or the like. Not just plain old country like she has done Rap music for the past 30 years.I do understand as I have been a fan since 1993 after hearing TPOL. Maybe she just isn't doing what you would like her to do. I at least would like her to step away from the "Pop" sound and ballads and really grace us with a curveball. So please do not make any attempt to patronise me, or any of the other fans like that. Javito Posted July 13, 2011 at 09:12 PM Posted July 13, 2011 at 09:12 PM Not quite sure about that. I think with all the experience he has, it makes him the best manager out there. He never retired or left the showbusiness for over 40 years. Its not like he was manager in 80s and 90' stopped for 15 years and came back. No, he has been soaked in it for ever. I think he knows much better than any other young manager of young pop stars. I don't think his age is a risk factor either. Unless he has become senil, suffer from alzheimer or any other health issue, he is still the best manager for her. He's been taking risks for ever, and i think thats why he is still at the top of his game. Just think of Taking Chances and Las Vegas. We might not like vegas, but its the only way for her to have stability for her little family and please her fans at the same time. Don't agree with that at all. There were dozens of options to please both her family and her fans before locking herself in one place for 5 years and staying away from the Music Industry . Did I say 5 years? Now the story is repeating for ¿5? more years. Yes, there were many other options. Like staying calm in her home with her family wherever she wanted, and when she recorded an album, promote each single here and there for 2-3 weeks. Then back home again until the next single is released. That was infinitely less demanding that 723 shows during 5 years, and that wouldn't have ruined her international career and each album she has released since 2003. But of course, like we use to say here, powerful Lord is Mr. MON€Y Sorry to be that honest. People say she needs to get out of her confort zone and sing other stuff, well thats what she did with taking chances album ( even if it wasnt performed much in concerts) thats because celine is for most people the best powerballad singer on earth. People expect ballades, i expect it. Would you want britney spears to sing its all coming back to me now? Or nickleback singning like a virgin? Or barbra streinsand singning bad romamce? No. Celine needs to go back to her sources, where her power is at, and at the place she once was the best singer in the world in her category. Enough with the pop ( one heart) the lullabies (miracle) and the edgynest (taking chances). Even if these are great amazing albums they will never top a TCOML, FIY or LTAL-type of album. Well, that depends on each fan. For you, those pop albums ANDHC, OH or TC can't top TCOML, FIY or LTAL. To me is the opposite, FIY and LTAL can't beat the richness and variety that ANDHC brought to us. It has the best of both worlds I discovered her with LTAL and ATW, and when I listened those albums I was like "omg, what a singer, what a so perfect technique". But when 2002 came and I listened ANDHC, my reaction was like "WOW, she can make me dance too and with the same quality". And so I'm sure the world thought when that album was released, and people liked it because she was out of her "comfort zone" for once since many years in her career! And of course that's why I'd love her to do this again. I completely do not believe that at all. Comfort zones is what keeps people comfortable right? Why not show off how great a singer you are and do something different, appeal to a different demographic where you an wow the loyal fans and gains some new ones at the same time. She can go back to her roots and do the same song again, again and again the same style and the same thing, but it gets to a point where: yeah you've proved your point, you can sing that way, the thing you need to prove is can you be more than the some of your parts? Can you diverse on your musical path? Céline doesn't need to market to these loyal fans because hell and high water, they will buy what she does anyway. As per my previous point gain some new audience by appeal to that demographic and adding in something new to gain gain that audience. Once again, I couldn't agree more with what you say!. What is it with the comfort zone, maybe we're obsessed that Céline should not abandon it? Pleeease, WHY NOT??? I can't understand the obsession here with labelling Céline as a "ballad singer" and end of story, as if her voice was reduced to that kind of songs Seriously, have you stopped to listen carefully her full discography? To me, she equally sings as perfectly The Power Of Love than Just A Little Bit Of Love or Right In Front Of You. She exceeds both kind of songs! So why are some of you obsessed with ballads and insist in closing other doors? I can't understand... as if she hadn't proved ENOUGH for years that she CAN sing ballads, as if the audience needed more!. You have the albums out there, listen to them and let the girl spread her talent with other styles . Shall we recall that she said one of her best bands in her teens was AC/DC? Maybe you're confused and insist in labelling Céline with songs that aren't really her favourites... maybe more than one fan would be shocked if he/she knew her favourite songs today! "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

Can't you realized she hasnt done any powerballades albums in 15 years and that is time to come back to her roots ?! Aaaanyway Who proclaimed that throne in ballads? To my eyes, the throne she (still) has is that of being the singer with the best versatility in her voice, and that's something to take advantage of. That includes ballads, dance, pop, jazz, classical and whatever song she wants to sing, because she can and sounds great whatever style she is proposed to sing. Not every singer in the world has that ability and we only have 1 Celine Dion, so she should have taken advantage of that ability as much as she can (like for instance when she did the outstanding "Simplement Marnay" special with jazz songs) I don't think its good to be obsessed with getting ballads *and only* ballads from Céline at this stage, you're closing big doors to her that way, but I respect your opinion (though I hope Céline never knows this "hunger" of ballads from some fans ) A dance album? How could I have possibly eluded to that at all? The artists I recalled were for example purposes only. In no way did I say that at all. What I expect from this album it's not the power ballads or some "freaky 90's uptempo songs", what I miss in the last albums is some of the, how can I say... character maybe, some powerful in what she's singing, I miss the presence of Think Twice, Seduces Me, Only One Road, LCMM, The Reason even Makes You Happy (as a risk genre). Some of you say that when she covers songs, she is doing Karaoke, for me, most of her original songs since 2002 sounds like real karaoke, so empty of feelings (A new Day Has Come (Radio edit); I'm Alive; One Heart; naked; and a long list...), canned songs and fool commercial. That's why I think she is getting again in the road she left in this decade. TC had again some good stuff like A song for You, New Dawn, My Love, Surprise Surprise, That's Just the Woman in me, songs with some personality, consistents with the 90's career. So I have high expectations on the next album, much more after listening incredible performances in Vegas. After the experience of singing Bond's songs and some Ella, I think she's going to choose better the songs for the next album. Maybe it's my foolish dream but with what I have seen these years, I think that it's growing in Celine a new and more interesting artist, maybe less commercial, less fans, but for me, so much better... Look at the TC recording sessions, when she talks about Eyes On Me: she's totally excited to get those songs!. When I went out to Vegas for opening night in March for my first Celine fan gathering, I expected to meet bunches of adult/ middle age fans because that's the targeted market for Celine's albums, etc. I was totally shocked to find that the gathering was made up of mostly people aroung my age, which is mid-20s. I am one of those young fans you mentioned who likes Celine's ballads, but I think I enjoy her uptempo stuff just as much if maybe not more! Especially when I'm in a great mood!! It saddens me that Celine has great uptempo songs that has laced all her albums throughout her career, yet she rarely brings them back to sing after that particular album. And some of them were fairly decent hit singles for her, such as Misled, THLAL, and NBBMH. All I know I want from this upcoming album is to sound current with both slow/ballads and uptempo/dance/pop/rock songs on it. And since I saw Celine sing Mr. P at the show, it has whet my appetite for some jazz related songs in the same vein. As far as lyrics go, I would love lyrics that are classy and evergreen like the ones on TCOML (and no I not asking for Part 2!). And when I put the CD in my CD player, I want it to be like FIY ( and again I'm NOT looking for Part 2!) , which had great pacing with the tracklisting. This is my wish list for the upcoming album.Alicia PS Javito, I have liked your posts in this thread. I figured no one would like "I agree" after most of them that's all.

I don't mean a part 2 either but I mean the supremecy of the voice on the songs! in TCOML, the voice she's known for is absolutely there! Forget FIY and LTAL, sometimes those 2 albums seem too generic for my taste; TCOML is the best vocal album Celine ever made. She has control over each and every song and the album flows greatly better than FIY and LTAL combined; that's the album I'm listening to on repeats for days now; hope we get a taste that is similar to it

I Love You Posted July 14, 2011 at 12:23 AM Posted July 14, 2011 at 12:23 AM This is turning, into the last thread for this new English album.
zuv Posted July 14, 2011 at 02:48 AM Posted July 14, 2011 at 02:48 AM A dance album? How could I have possibly eluded to that at all? The artists I recalled were for example purposes only. In no way did I say that at all. Oh sorry, i assumed you prefered her next album to be dance, its just that you and javito keep agreeing with each other. -Yes she has done pop before. -Are you just saying that because you don't like country? It;s a horrendously influential style, right across the states. And even though it's made fun of, it's true to life and less fake than making people write your own feelings for you. -I thought TC had a lot of new writers... -Yep, you're right i don't like it, I hate the nasal part of it and the music that always sound the same to me. Celine could sing it and would be the best at it, i'm sure. But not my thing. -I feel that Céline has never expressed herself properly because people are expressing how they think she feels through songs. She said herself that she sings songs with words that her fans could believe that she would say. Why not write a few albums of her own then? She has the capacity and she's done it before. Why not now? -She doesn't have a "throne", even though she's the most active out of the few you mentioned apart from Leona Lewis(I don't equate "new blood" as diva until they deserve it or are at least in part a bit older.), she doesn't need to be labelled as such either. -That would be great! I've always supported that idea. -She hates singing ballades? Where have you heard that? If she did say that, it sounds like a big eff u to all the writers and producers of the 90's. And Roots? This isn't her roots! I can't believe how many times I have to explain this. Her roots in music are probably from when she was little growing up in Charlemagne, surrounded by the music they provided and what she say on TV as a child. Her "roots" are a cultural thing. Well what i meant by roots was what she is known and famous for, that is, since she started her career at the age of 12 till december 1999. Thats all, i just couldn't find a better word to explain it as English isnt my first language. I do understand as I have been a fan since 1993 after hearing TPOL. Maybe she just isn't doing what you would like her to do. I at least would like her to step away from the "Pop" sound and ballads and really grace us with a curveball. So please do not make any attempt to patronise me, or any of the other fans like that. How am i tempting to patronise you or other fans? What i think patronise mean is being condescending to others and treating them like unknowledged people. I think thats pretty rude of you to say that, after i said "We are thousands of different fans, we'll never all agree, but its great this way. As long as celine keeps singing singing and singing" Whats the point in discussing and argumenting when i'll be accused of patronizing people? Don't forget, its a written discussion and you can't see facial expression.
