It's true, Hollywood theme is gone. Celine and her band will start rehearsing in Florida after the Holidays, the guys are already rehearsing. They're doing Declaration of Love in the video! Mego says no real new song, since she's not doing an album, but some new songs from her (the Billy Joel one, already mentioned, it's supposed to be a song she'll sing for her children).

 

 

Also, Mego says they have something even better than holograms planned... that sounds wicked!

 

I am please she'll do more of her own songs and not just a bunch of covers. She's got amazing songs she's never done live or at least not in a while. They says in the video the show is 2 hours now but they'll cut it down to 1 and a half hours. If I understood corectly, there might be some guest stars also... Mego's accent is worse than Celine's (in a good way, I lilke it, it's just hard to understand sometimes).

 

All I know is people were saying a lot of crazy things before AND, predicting her fall, and it was a smashing success! I'm sure they'll have great new ideas (Mego is saying they're still throwing in ideas, the show is not done) and that it will be spectacular. Also, Celine and big orchestra = perfection! It sounded amazing with the orchestra in Sur les Plaines and they didn't have that much time to prepare and it was just a basic concert. All I know it's always more interesting with an orchestra for both listener and singer.

 

It's too bad I won't be able to make it there at least until 2012... . On the other hand, I'm sure she'll have some new material by then so I can't complain.

Looking at the final "A New Day..." set list the songs that I don't realistically expect to feature in the new show are:

 

- A New Day Has Come

- Seduces Me

- If I Could

- I Surrender

- Ammore Annascunnuto

- All The Way

- I've Got The World On A String

- I Wish

 

All of the others - the classics - that were featured in "A New Day..." I think we can all realistically expect to feature again. So assuming the set list is 16 songs again we've got space for 8 new songs. You can now appreciate how difficult it must be for them to make the choices they have to make in terms of what to include. Surely with such space limited though focus should be placed on Celine's own back catalogue.

She is normally at 18 songs. In 2003, she had like 20-21 actually.

I have mixed feelings about the news

I was really hoping she'd perform Don't Rain On My Parade but I am also happy that it's back to being about her songs at the same time.

I guess only time will tell what's gonna happen or if we are going to like this new show, Personally I never wanted the movie covers in her new show anyways, it would make her seemed outdated and old washed up singer singing old cover songs in Las Vegas. It would not be the best thing for her career. IF and IF ONLY they approach this concert right with the setlist than I can see myself liking this better than AND... But they most perform and choose the right Celine songs and lay others to rest like "To Love You More," "River Deep", "The Prayer", "I'm Alive"... Those are not needed anymore at this time maybe down the road ut they can give us some nice older songs like she hasn't sang in years like, "That's the Way it is", "If you asked Me too", " A new has come radio remix", "Where Does My Heart Beat Now", " The Reason", "you and I", " Goodbyes" etc... I KNOW that she must sing MHWGO, BYLM, and TPOL but the others coulf be dropped for newer old songs.

I don't mind the Hollywood theme being cancelled....mind you I think a few hollywood classics could have been nice, but 'centered' around it could get boring...so No, it certainly wouldn't deter me from not going. As a matter of fact, I d rather see her sing her repetoire of songs from her albums....people pay $250 a ticket they want to hear Celine songs.

 

Again, I think with this being a "new'' show, they should drop most DEFINITELY a lot of what they did in "A new day..". "I surrender" "seduces me" "Love can move mountains" "River Deep" "I"m Alive" "World on a string"..etc. ALL SHOULD GO.

 

Keep the HUGE hits, that the average celine fan knows the staples "The Power of Love" "Because you Loved me " "It's All Coming Back to me Now" and "My Heart will go on". If she keeps those four songs, she'll appease a lot of casual fans and the die-hards at the same time.

 

Then, bring in the songs that were hits.....that people forgot about and she has not done on tour in YEARS. "Where does my heart been now" "Nothing Broken But My Heart" "If you Asked me To" "Don't let me be the last to know" "Call the man", "Misled" "Water from the moon", "Only one road" "When I fall in Love" and That's the way it is

It'll be great to hear DOL and The Reason in this show! I think this show is going to be an authentic Celine Dion concert like the LTAL world tour and the TC tour. Celine sells.. regardles.. the lady could sing mary had a little lamb in variation all night and she'd sell tickets.. people want to hear her sing. And yes as fans we all want different things and everyone is complaining about not having the hollywood theme.. but honestly people.. she is still performing after having 3 kids.. touring the world.. 5 years in vegas.. c'mon! who else does this?? no one hardly. Mariah carey.. she pops out a few times a year for a special concert.. whitney houston.. well enough said there.. out of all the diva's of the 90's Celine is the only one who is still performing strong.. so lets all just be greatful she isn't a whitney or a mariah and lets not complain about what songs she'll sing. It's going to be a new show.. it's not going to be AND or the TC tour.. it's going to a Celine Dion concert in a very small theatre and it'll just be great!

One thig is sure... one could be fooled to believe that this video was filmed in 1997----I fear everything post 1999 will be forgotton and pre 1996.

I may be proven wrong about this, but I keep getting this feeling that "A Song For You" will be featured at some point in the show. Whether or not it stays around for the long-run is another story.

Remember, the only song that gets performed from LTAL is MHWGO. And honestly, I don't consider than a song from LTAL, I consider that a song from Titanic. That album is so forgotten. I'd pay double to get a live performance of When I Need You. =)

I will honestly think they are crazy if they don't put TTWII in the show. I was surprised to have it not be in AND and TC, especially TC, and if they keep it out of this show, I have no idea what they are thinking It was such a hit song and has gotten super ignored in her concerts.

Maybe you should try and stay positive, you may be surprised and if not...your still gonna enjoy the Celine concert. This show has more of chance than ever to include rare songs

I think this may be the ONLY exception I'd ever make for the whole "lipping thing".
