What's great about this and the A l'olympia concert is that she updated all of her previous songs to her current powerful voice making for instance songs like Des Mots Qui Sonnent, where does my heart beat now, L'Amour existe encore and Love Can Move Mountains way better than the album version but above all: le blues du business man and le monde est stone! Hope there is a complete live version of unison and other songs from her English albums! 2 Quote

It's like she went to the studio and recorded for the second time all of her previous albums! Two version of the same album... With the best voice ever. 2 Quote

Does that take off any credit to the *FACT* that in 1994 (and all around those years 1993-1996) she had absolutely the BEST vocals and voice condition ever on her career??? And playback or not, I still refuse to believe she dared to perform in playback in that venue, the Olympia hall, and just when she was starting to be widely known in France. It would have been like an insult to the French public, being the Olympia one of the most charismatic concert halls in the country -if not the most important-. Not that I want to turn this into a discussion about playback, but Dest Mots Qui Sonnent, Where Does My Heart Beat Now and The Power Of Love were lipped at the Olympia Javi. BTW, something few people know is that she also performed the song Oxygène at the Olympia concerts back in September of 1994. The performance was left out of the CD but was intended to be included in a VHS release. Unfortunately, the release of Live à Paris replaced it last minute and I fear we'll never get to enjoy that rare performance 1 Quote Tournée Européenne in Paris (December 1, 2013)Céline Dion Live 2016 in Antwerp (June 20, 2016)Céline Dion Live 2017 in Birmingham (July 27, 2017)

But where is the playback performance of those songs originally used and when were they used, to compare? I've never seen her sing "Des mots qui sonnent" in any other audio, event or video like she does in the Olympia And still if she did, we know she had the incredible ability around those days to replicate almost identically each live performance she did of a song, one after another and with minor little differences so it would be really hard to tell if she was singing to a prerecorded live playback track or almost replicating live a previous live performance. And if that were to be true, it doesn't play much in favour of Celine precisely In any way, I refuse to believe that, unless there is proof and it's an exact performance of the song, which I insist that could be hard to tell because she emulated almost with perfection each live performance... Literally just listen to Olympia and Live A paris and youll hear that The Power Of Love is THE EXACT SAME. And even listen to Where Does My Heart Beat Now in TCOML concert and compare that to Olympia... its the EXACT same. Olympia and Live A Paris are amazing and no one can take that away from them. Theyre two amazing concerts and playback doesnt matter but what the point is you cannot sit and praise a performance which is lip synched when we know what she really sounded like and how pointless it was to do so. I mean even listen to that 2017 rehersal clip of The Power Of Love where she didnt use the playback and she sounded INCREDIBLE 1 Quote

Tyler1991 Posted October 19, 2018 at 05:07 PM Posted October 19, 2018 at 05:07 PM Tpol was lipped beginning in tcoml tour. There is telethon footage of one performance, and of course the olympia CD. The disney special which was mostly playback did feature pre-recordings on WDMHBN and IYAMT. This tells me that her playback likely began on the celine dion tour with at least those two songs. Misled, tpol, OOR were all playback songs off TCOML but they were just studio versions on the tv special. A couple montha passed between the disney special and the actual tour start. As for des mots qui sonnent, there was interview footage with about 20 seconds or so that featured identical vocals to the olympia cd. I would like to think it was the same performance and that's why it sounds the same. Not too sure. 1 Quote
