Maxime Le Forestier: It's a self-portrait, but it's written by someone else... So it's a portrait!

 

Celine: I always look forward to recording a French album. It's been 5 years since I recorded my last French album. The first three songs I were "Moi quand je pleure", "Attendre" and "Si je n'ai rien de toi". I received those 3 songs in 2008. So Rene and I were in the car, we were not exactly thinking of doing a new French album at that time, but we could start preparing, listening to songs so that we're ready (when the time comes). And in the meantime, we were trying to have a baby. Rene and I love to hear demo songs in the car. So Rene-Charles was at school, Rene and I listened to those 3 tracks in the car. We burst in tears. We couldn't wait to record the songs. And in the end, I've waited... Everything was put on hold when I finally became pregnant. We had not only one, but two babies. So all good things come to the one who waits. And now here's a new album that I'm very proud of!

I've listened to the previews again and again... I think the second single will be Que toi au monde or Si je n'ai rien de toi or Je n'ai pas besoin d'amour or Attendre. The rest songs are either old-fashioned (in a good way) or way too slow. Les jours comme ca could be sent to the radios but I don't see this coming, cause it's only part of the Deluxe Edition. The duets are nice but really slow and the singers aren't popular right now. I'm hoping for Si je n'ai rien de toi or Que toi au monde.

 

True about Les jours comme ca, but Taylor Swift's "Ours" and Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass" both came from the Deluxe Edition of their albums and became big hits, so it's possible!

Even from just the previews i feel like so many songs could become singles,

 

1. Si Je N'ai Rien de Toi: I like how simple it is at the beginning, then "boom" it gets stronger

2. Qui Peut Vivre Sans Amour: Darker song, i don't recall such type of song in French from Celine. Refreshing

3. Celle Qui M'a Tout Appris: For some reason it reminds me of Ain't Gonna Look The Other Way, i like it.

4. Je N'ai Pas Besoin D'amour: Great ballad, i like the chorus.

5. Miracle: From the preview it sounds slow but fun too, when she starts : "Au dessus de nous dedans et tout autour"

 

 

One song i can't wait to hear in full, but will most likely not be a single (but who knows) is Les Petits Pieds de Léa, sounds soo freaking sad.

No reason to be disappointed. The overwhelming majority of the public has never heard Celine perform this song. A compelling performance like this will potentially be will get people talking about Celine Dion -- whereas when she lipped songs like TAKING CHANCES at the World Music Awards, for instance, people just kind of forgot about it. A fantastic performance will greatly benefit the sales of the album And NMQP is included on the deluxe version of Sans Attendre. So it actually makes a lot of sense. Smart decision.

I know ! Les petits pieds de Léa is going to be so sad ! I cried just with the 30-second preview ! I agree that Le miracle could be a nice single ! I'm really loving that one! Qui peut vivre sans amour as well.

Did you guys know that Johnny Hallyday's album is coming out the week after Céline's!!??

So if Céline gets a #1 album in France, there is a good chance that she won't be #1 for the second week because Johnny normally sells very well too when he launches an album... We'll see. Not that big of a deal but it would be nice to see Céline stay at #1 for a little while...

NMQP is not a good choice. Celine always gets so emotional when singing that song, and it definitely will make celine lose the control of her VOICE. It will be a touching performance I think but not an amazing one to tell the French speaking guys how the blessed voice is still there.

Celine gave an interview maybe a year ago in Las Vegas and the guy talking to Celine had written a French song for her and Celine sang some part of it during the interview, and she was excited to record it. Anybody remember that? Is that song part of the new album?

I agree. "Attendre" would be the best choice for the next single! But yet it doesn't matter that much which song will they choose, because every song is fantastic!

A little off topic, but I am getting beyond impatient for Sans Attendre to come out. A few more weeks can't be any more longer than what it feels like.
