I can't wait to get the Japanese versions too!

If the package is different, i'll take it too

Japanese music labels have always delivered different artwork and covers for their releases Not many times with Céline (they have done this only with Dion Chante Plamondon, their own release with the Complete Best and a little change in TCOML) but indeed with many artists. So hopefully they could change the absurd cover we have for another great picture (but don't keep your hopes too high these days) :thumbsup2:

Um I dunno about the rest of Canada but I'm in BC and all our stores have the Taking Chances tour dvd's release date listed as May 4th, it was advertised in all the stores' papers this week, so I have no idea whether this just applies to us or the rest of Canada as well.

It says on archambault.ca a French Canadian store, that the release is going to happen on the 4th of may; however, this online store is not very reliable; because I remember buying from them an item that was supposed to be released in the specified day that was posted on the website but when the day came they changed the date to another one.

got the dvd/cd today!!! YAY!!! oke since it's not the complaining thread, I won't say anything about the cover -_- or the boring layout overall :whistling: got TC on now, and to me till now, the sound is good! :clap:

btw the whole dvd is 1 hour, 42 minutes long :-D

oh and it's a good choice to have New Mego's Flamenco on the cd as a seperate track! :wub2: I love it more than EOM! :sofunny:

ok. have been watching the dvd.. GREAT videoquality!!! on my dvdrecorder with dvd-upscaling it already looks amazingly sharp and detailed. Audio quality is also very good - although they clearly filtered the audience away. But the audience itself is rather tame, sometimes they just look at her and no one moves...that's a shame.

But as far as quality in terms of audio and video goes, there's nothing to wish for, it is all there! Although I have the feeling they shortened the openingspeech? anyway, great great dvd!

there are also subtitles for all different countries. You can choose 2.1 setup or 5.1. setup.

All songs are definately sung live. You can hear that very good. What I said about the audience sounds -

when celine begins with another song, right after the applause the applause is softened in terms of volume.

That is the only thing I miss - Louder audience sounds.. but overall nothing to complain of!

Hey for those that have seen the dvds...how is the editing? Are there alot of editing mistakes since it was all combined from different nights and different angles? Any one shots like one arm down and then the next shot its up? Are celines lip movements in sync with the song or is it off ever? Oh..and how are the actualy camera angles that they use for this concert? A New Day was so zippy and fast cutting with its angles you could hardly take it in very well..so is it better on this dvd? And last question..does celine ever do that movement with her mouth where she looks like she is taking a breath after singing a note? I personally love that..any of that here?

Yeah they took out the second verse. Or rather, I think Celine did. She sang the second verse at shows after Boston but the CD matches the performance on YT. I guess she wanted to wrap it up earlier that night! Or maybe she thought she already sang it. lol Still, the DVD team could have chose the longer performance from Montreal.

to me it looks good.. and the sound is in sync . Cameramovement is ok. I haven't watched it that clearly yet, but from so far I have seen it, it looks very good. The power of love as we have seen it here and on youtube, is not in Through The Eyes , but on the concert dvd. Same for all by myself ( which is twice on through the eyes of the world ) complete with the raw note at the end. And I must say - it really looks very very sharp. If this is correct that means they took it out so when people hear the new version on the concert dvd its not identical to the part in the documentary...is all this correct or is the new pol still in the DVD of the doc? lol..im telling you..these people overwork themselves trying to cover up and edit all this stuff...its like goverment secret stuff

No, the whole song has been re-recorded. The same version appears in the concert and documentary DVDs.

I was just thinking that it is really amazing how people's oppinions can differ so much about Celine's vocals on particular songs. Davey that exact songs you wrote for your favourites, other people in the complaining thread wrote down as the worst performances. yeah I don't care what other people say granted, it's not the best night ever recorded (I think her best nights were pre-North America, because like you can see in the movie, she got a lot of stress after she returned to North America, which had massive effect on her voice)... but I love those songs in all, with or without flaws... like said many times before: Céline is only human! And after seeing the movie, seeing all the pain and suffering Céline had to go through, people with complaints should just shove it! :whistling: :flowers:

to answer your question... I only listened to the cd once, but I can say that to me, All By Myself is just specatular! :yes:

my favourites are:

I'm alive (especially the part before) (could listen to it over and over again, love that version)

MHWGO (totally surprised me cause I really can't stand this song anymore when I hear it, but it's so good on the CD)

IDAN (of course )

and generally the French songs, I like the French concert better, don't know, maybe because I saw 5 French concerts and only one English...

Davey: Totally agree with you. People need to give Celine a break. But what it tells me is that it really is ''in the ear of the beholder''.

P.S. I haven't seen the movie yet except for screen caps and a few clips on youtube, but I am soooo looking forward to it...

and for editing mistake mmm i didn't notice much but of course there are some

there's obvious one for PQTME, there's long note towards the end which if celine's in french speaking countries she would let the audience sing right

the first one she only sang PQTM and no encore instead she said that's right, but u can see in the video she's actually singing it.....(a shot from a little far back), so very strange.. and other ones mmm can't really tell.

but it's also obvious that you can see the video change to another nite, not from Celine's look but from the guitarist Andre his hair is different lol one shot he's hair is like spiky and another one is not lol

oh and it seems that Dominique Messier the drumer is not in the concert???? but i just look at the credit and he's there??

or that means he got a new hair style or something which made me didn't regonise him.. lol

here's the thank you from the credit.. which i think i missed the first 2 pages before lol i didn't notice until just now lol hahah

I am quite happy because now this is the ultimate proof That Celine is not a liar who Want to make us believe that she sings 100%live! The happy dance after lcmm is so sweet !!!!

Very strange indeed. Maybe they got the versions mixed up, and that's why the movie didn't have the new TLYM??

In the Movie, tpol, tlym and all by myself (pheonix) are playback and all the other performances were dubbed with the audio from Monston and Botreal! I Heard tpol was live and iamw was different from the concert version but no :down:

was it like that? Sorry but like Homer Simpson said: "I hate this new director's cut!"

ps: I am not complaigning at all I just want the theatrical version to be released too

no it was playback but even that performance was better than the Concert DVD version! She was amazing that night :wub: when she started "all by myself ..." I wanted to cry :cry: wow!!!!
