ashleylovesceline Posted February 14, 2010 at 05:16 AM Posted February 14, 2010 at 05:16 AM Don't forget, guys, that this is a business. It's all about the money and everyone wants a piece of the action. The box office has agreements with different companies to ensure that all those seats are occupied.Ticketmaster/Ticketsnow get the largest amount as the "official" ticket sellers. Then they allocate seats to other sites like stubhub and vegas.com. They are gaurenteed those (or better) seats. Then they keep the best seats for the whales and other so-called VIPs to ensure that they come back to Vegas and spend money. This way, they get to advertise a "sold out" show, eventhough it is not actually sold out. It may be screwed up but it doesn't make it any less true. There are still plenty of tickets available. We just need to pay an arm and a leg to get them because these sites have a huge mark-up price. Those scalpers are not sitting at their computers, like us, waiting for tickets to go on sale so they can buy a bulk of them to sell at a higher price. Those tickets are GIVEN to them by the box office. Of course, it sucks for us because we are the minority here. Only a small amount of the audience will be true fans. That's Vegas. They don't call it Sin City for nothing.I like to think that Celine is in denial about all of this or just plain doesn't have a clue.I guess I just feel so bad for the fans that can't afford to travel all the way there and pay these ridiculous prices I don't know why I went on that rant, but there you have it Can I just say how much I hate that, that is true? It’s one of the only bad things about her performing there. I love going to Las Vegas, and I love being able to plan a time that works for me to go see her... and I love that you can see her more than once while you're there. I also love that Céline gets to have a “normal” life while still being able to perform for us. But I hate the Vegas politics of it. Once while trying to get front row, I was beat out by two millionaires who showed up about 15-10 minutes before showtime who probably got them for free. It really isn’t fair, but it IS the way it works there. And don't even get me started on the fact that the box office actually gives the scalpers tickets... I feel bad for the fans who can't afford it too...lol, I'm one of them at the moment. Hopefully everything will work out, and airfare rates will go down a bit. Ya , I also think alot of people in countries outside US have not got a clue about her going back to Vegas, or that her tickets are on sale! For example, most people in Ireland would not know this!. ladylindsey Posted February 14, 2010 at 07:30 AM Posted February 14, 2010 at 07:30 AM You'd think Céline would never allow as much of this to go on as does. Wonder if she has anyyyyy idea the extent of it? I'm sure she knows a bit, but she always says she stays out of the business aspect of it to a point. Looks like there would at least be a half section reserved for actual fans with money waiting their whole lives to see Céline from the front row? Please René? have you heard of the celinedionforum? They actually spoke about it on one of our radio stations yesterday. So I think as the word starts spreading, other countries will soon hear about it. I also think they did an insert on TV about it on Friday. They showed some footage of AND. I couldn't hear, because my sound was off, but I assume it was about the new Vegas show. But yeah I guess the premier is out for people living in other countries... Quote http://i993.photobucket.com/albums/af51/ClaudetteRobinson/esme.jpg
ashleylovesceline Posted February 14, 2010 at 09:19 AM Posted February 14, 2010 at 09:19 AM (edited) You'd think Céline would never allow as much of this to go on as does. Looks like there would at least be a half section reserved for actual fans with money waiting their whole lives to see Céline from the front row? Please René? have you heard of the celinedionforum? Allo? Help us out here?Well, when she was in Vegas the first time around - at first the first two rows were reserved for VIPs. Fans could not get closer than the third row. Céline, of course, noticed this. You think the napping people gave it away? LOL. Apparently she complained she wanted her fans to be able to be closer to her, and they freed up the second row for us FINALLY. Front row... I guess, there's nothing even Céline can do about it. All Vegas shows are like that, and the Vegas world revolves around VIP "whales". Because without them Vegas would be broke! I think if she knew what was going on, she would do A LOT more. I like to think she would be pretty upset with the way were are treated at times. But she leaves it up to René... and I think in this case he leaves it up to Caesars... so we're screwed! Unless of course, Céline realizes what's going on when all five rows are filled with bored out of their minds/sleeping VIPs. Edited February 14, 2010 at 09:25 AM by ashleylovesceline Quote

Oh, in most of the countries without a decent regulation Ticketmaster is active, in other countries less Like for example her in Belgium. The re-sale of tickets is officialy prohibited by an agreement (soon to be a law) to prevent tickets being sold on the black market against way to high prices... Unofficialy they let sales go through if they don't exceed facevalue +10% or less. Every single day, the internet is actively searched for tickets that are for sale on third party sites or foreign sites. If they can find out which tickets they are (a lot of people are stupid enough to take a picture of the ticket and put it online or they can track the tickets by other methods) they will be instantly blocked, from that moment the tickets are void, so if you bought a tickets and you come at the venue you'll have a risk being denied entrance. If they can find the seller, they will get a decent fine also. The agreement (which was asked for by the biggest promotors, the ticketdesks, and even the artists and ofcourse the government) is now in use for a couple of years now and it works fine, it will even become a law and not an agreement anymore to be sure that new parties can't get away with it because they didn't sign the agreement. The day that Ticketmaster want's to start a business in Belgium they can't offer platinum seats, they can't do something like ticketexchange, etc... And that's probably also one of the reasons why Ticketmaster didn't start a Belgian business or bought Belgian ticketcompanies (like teleticketservice, sherpa, etc...) For example. VIP packages for any artist (including Céline Dion during the TC tour) are only costing about 200 to 300 USD, even for the biggest artist... Just because it's all regulated. And yet the Belgian ticketcompanies, the tourpromotors, etc... are making decent (even huge) amounts of money. Fortunately I was fast enough to buy a decent ticket against a decent price through the presale... Edited February 14, 2010 at 07:34 PM by Bralo20 Quote ...

Acacia Posted February 16, 2010 at 09:17 PM Posted February 16, 2010 at 09:17 PM I remember reading a few pages ago that someone or some people purchased insurance, but it didn't go through (as was the case with me). I just contacted them and was able to do it over the phone. I'm a little confused because it doesn't even sound like they care what event I'm going to. They asked for the dates, and then she casually asked what event I'm going to. I said "Celine Dion...in Vegas" and she causally said "oh, okay". Though maybe it's registered in their computer. Anyway, I have the policy. If anyone else needs to set up an insurance policy (you can get a refund for your ticket if you can't make it to the show. Cost is $7 per ticket), their number is 1-866-456-3102 Quote http://oi52.tinypic.com/2aaavxd.jpg ♥ Thank you, Céline for giving me the greatest birthday I could ask for! ♥
maceta_biloxi Posted February 16, 2010 at 09:39 PM Posted February 16, 2010 at 09:39 PM Anyway we all that for opening night it was going to be very hard to get good tickets, just a few people were able to get tickets in the 6th row, but the show will be in Vegas for 3 years so you can always come back and get better tickets than rear orchestra or mezzanine, same thing happened for AND opening night and besides that the tickets from the first rows that weren't sold were auctioned, so it's not the only show there are 209 shows more than we can get very nice tickets to. Go to the opening night and seat in Mezzanine and come back next year or 2013 (if the world doesn't end) and get great tickets, there is no reason to go mad or crazy about this, as long as you have a seat for opening it doesn't really matters where you seat, any seat at the coliseum has a great view, so you won't miss anything.
