Ok this SUCKS! Auto-Tune and rapping on this classic song..I bet MJ is rolling over in his grave as we speak that hes even a part of this version. But ill give credit to Celine, P!nk , Jhud, and MJ( original vocals) they really stood out vocally to me.

i agree with u. they SHOULD have wrote a new song. now this sad attempt will forever be compared to the original and will lose in the comparison as it should. that young kid in the beginning, justin bieber was just weird. celine dion (who always over sings) destroyed cyndi laupers very original take on her part. barbra streisand (another over singer) wasnt right for what i think was diana ross part. then there was the black guy towards the end making those weird sounds with his voice. the only thing i kind of liked was the rap part in the middle (and ONLY that part as the other rapping didnt fit at all) which i think gave the song a powerful feel to it. somewhere in the afterlife michael jackson is stunned at how they butchered a song he co wrote.

I think the most sad part, in our case, is that Céline got sooo much buzz after the news items came out, she was prominent in every video...and in the end result you can only hear her for about 8 seconds!

Céline did well, they did take out additional vocals by her, tho. Disappointed of that. She has no problems hitting it hard when she wants to, she needs huge amounts of discipline to perserve her voice tho.

Mary JB was heavily autotuned. they raised the pitch of her voice and straightened it out! I don't think there has ever been a song in history where so much autotune was used on so many people!!!

I'm dissapointed they took out most of Celine's part and replaced it with lower quality vocals, but it doesn''t really matter. This is not about Celine, is about getting money to the people of Haiti. Overall, I think the remake is OK. Really nice, emotional touch with Michael's video and Janet singing along. And I actually like the rap part, the one with all the rap artists, when everybody's clapping their hands, not the one with just Kanye.

Where are all the celine notes? I prefer listening to the bootlegs, the final cut is disappointing in terms of what I was expecting from Celine. Song is still okay..But the video? Im not sure, the transition was fast I was like having a headache and there was so much clutter all ovah the place.

And what's up with musical engineering these days? No professionals left? Do they need someone to show them how to use autotune(more like "how not to use it")? Definitely NOT on the whole track! I'm really pissed, didn't expect it to be that cheap.

Just imagine what kind of crap it would've been without Barbra, Celine and Josh...

IIII know right? i gave it a 7/10 but thats just cause of those 2 and few others, without them i would have give this song a 3-4/10

 

Maybe some of the guys here on the forum that is good with editing can edit Fergie's part out. That was some amazing notes by Celine, but it is totally ruined by Fergie's voice!

What the heck? Hudson, groban, pink and celine are the only singers here. The rest of the song is a big autotune mess. And what's even more funny, is that THE singer of that atrocious remake, which is celine, is the only one who is coached in the booth? Who are they mocking?

 

About fergie, aka, unesthetic surgery face, singing in the middle of celine's part, it is because celine is starting to belt before the end of her last sentence. If they didn't let fergie sing that part, it would have look weird.

Celine could have sing Fergie's part in a separate time and add it in the editing, like Celine Always do for her own songs.

Good thing they didn't come, cause celine's wouldn't have had that much coverage in the news, maybe i'm biased but celine had THE part, and was in the center of attention....
