Since everybody knows Celine is feat. in the new version, I would like to share this with all of you too. Very interesting. Some of the most popular Youtube singer got together to do a new version too. And in my personal opinion, it sounds way better than the original 25 cover.

 

The girl who sings Celine's part, Lisa Lavie, does a really great job too. Specially with the last note. What do you think?

I was wondering if someone was able to get their hands on a snippet of the song Lean on Me which they sang together during the recording of We Are The World. That would be great to hear. Apparently Celine launched into that song because someone was leaning on someone else and then many joined Celine in the song.

Well they play it on our radio and tv stations a million times a day. I'm actually sick of it. I still say it is horrible. There are just too many different voices in that song and that rap rubbish at the end is horrible.

I heard it on the Dutch radio when I turned on the radio for the first time in months (I never listen to the radio). A friend of mine who listens radio a lot, told me she heard it several times.

 

I'd rather have them playing the Youtube version though...

 

BTW: Since Nando Férri pointed out Lisa Lavie (the girl who sings Celine's part in the YT edition), I've become a big fan of her.

She's sooo talented and freakin' hilarious (she and her boyfriend posted daily videos on their channel Alphalavie for a while).

"We Are The World 25 For Haiti" will make its 3D theatrical debut during halftime of the in-theater broadcast of each of the 2010 NCAA Men's Final Four semifinal games and national championship game, Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp. In an effort to raise additional funds for humanitarian efforts in Haiti as a result of the January 12 earthquake, viewers will be encouraged to purchase the song, with all proceeds directed to the We Are The World Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones.

 

"We Are The World 25 For Haiti" is a remake of the classic 1985 "We Are The World" written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, with heartfelt performances including Jennifer Hudson, Jennifer Nettles, Josh Groban, Tony Bennett, Mary J. Blige, Janet Jackson, Barbra Streisand, Miley Cyrus, Enrique Iglesias, Joe Jonas, Jamie Foxx, Wyclef Jean, Usher, Celine Dion, Fergie, Nick Jonas, and Carlos Santana, among others. Using the lyrical footage from the original "We Are The World" recording, the late Michael Jackson and his sister Janet sing a duet.
