No I knew that, other people were asking and I just said it normally takes four and a half months or eighteen weeks to find out. She was able to find out with RC at just two months according to what is in My Story My Dream which I looked at to get the dates of her finding out she was pregnant and finding the sex out.

Le premier enfant du couple, René-Charles, a huit ans. Il est né le 25 janvier 2001.

 

Céline Dion a fait appel à la même grande équipe de New-York du docteur Zev Rosenwaks, devenu un ami de la famille pour être enceinte de nouveau.

 

La star a toujours parlé ouvertement de l’utilisation des techniques de fertilité et appuyé le combat que mène son amie Julie Snyder pour permettre aux couples infertiles d’avoir accès à ces avancées médicales et à espérer vivre le bonheur d’être parent.

 

Depuis la fin de sa tournée en mars dernier, Céline Dion mettait toutes les chances de son côté pour devenir une seconde fois maman.

Murielle Blondeau, a spokeswoman with the Bureau de Francine Chaloult, said Tuesday that Dion and her husband, Rene Angelil, found out about the pregnancy Monday after she underwent fertility treatments in New York. Blondeau says the baby is due next May.

So that means Celine got pregnant somewhere around half may. If she found out the gender on August 26, then RC would have been more then 3 months old around that time right? (math is not my best subject =P)

That's strange, cause I read that she was due on Valentine's day....By the way: when RC was born the cover of People magazine said "It's a boy". They wouldn't say that if she had already anounced that it was going to be a boy, would they? So I guess they didn't even make it public when they found out they were having a boy. So this all doesn't even matter, if they aren't going to make it public .

I'm so happy for Celine and Rene! There are really no words to express my excitement for them

 

THe local news station has been announcing the news as well (though the anchor woman could not pronounce Rene's last name. It kind of made me mad because they should research pronunciation before going on the air. SHe totally screwed up his name )

 

They almost never get René's last name correct in Finland either. Yesterday as they talked about the pregnancy on a national radio station, he was called "ANGEL".

 

What did they say about her pregnancy on the radio? I haven't heard anything... I've only seen the news on some internet sites here in Finland.

 

 

One of my friends sent me sms on Tuesday after she had found out about Celine's pregnancy: "Attention! Attention! Celine Dion is pregnant!" She's not Celine's fan. I guess she just knew I would like to know about it. As if I didn't know before her.

 

She also made a comment concerning Rene's age: "Isn't her husband terribly old?" But I don't think she said that to judge their relationship. She also said that Celine's pregnancy should be our party theme on Saturday.

So....who wants in on a forum Baby Shower in about 7 months? I know she is so very early in her pregnancy, and we will all continue to pray everything goes well for her and the little one in the coming months, but I'm sure everything will be perfect and when the time comes we should have a gathering or make her something special from all of us Like something verrrry special for such a special occasion! And I hope it involves cake.

haha I think I got the "isn't her husband like 80?" comment with everyone. After that my friends just ignored my excitement...I didn't even bother to tell my sister because she always makes fun of me for liking Celine, but I guess she saw it on E! cause she texted me and argued with me that it was wrong that she was doing that to the baby cause the baby's father might not be around to watch him/her grow up I told her that there are many families where their parents fight or end up in divorce, or their parents can not afford to feed or put a roof over their childrens' heads. This child will be brought into a home where not only is their future set for them money wise, but they will have parents who are deeply in love and will cherish him/her with all their hearts. Plus they have a huuuge family of aunts, uncles, and cousins to love and support them. I think it's great. There are much worse situations for a baby to be brought into than just having a father who is older.

I couldn't agree more, there are a lot worse things than having an older dad. My parents were in their 40's when they had me and my mom died when I was sixteen, I had no reason to suspect anything would happen to her. You can't always gurantee your parents are going to be around, a twenty year old could have a child and pass away months later, or they could be sixty and have a child and live to be 100. You just don't know really what is going to happen. So why does everyone just assume because someone is "older" that they are going to die and have no right to have kids, my best friend made me really mad because she said Rene "had no right having kids, he's to old." I wish all children had a safe secure future and good financial future like Celine's kids do.

 

I agree also, my mom gave me that comment of how selfish it was to have kids when your so old, and I think to myself of how loved RC is and how loved this new baby will be. They are going to be so dearly loved and when the time comes that Rene passes on, they will have the support of their mom and family. I think it's so sweet first time around, Rene wanted a boy, so that he'd take care of Celine when he was gone. Like Celine always says, take things one day at a time. Both kids will have wonderful memories of their dad and still live happy lives when he's gone. I just don't see it being a traumatic thing for them.

I could be completely wrong, but I think they did it because it's a catchy headline and not everyone would know the sex of the baby - when other celebrities have babies, I don't care that much. You read "It's a boy" and your first reaction is that she had a baby boy. I took a look at People's other baby issues and most of them have the baby on the cover, then something like "baby bliss". Looking at the picture and caption, first reaction is that they had a baby. RC wasn't on the cover, so to get the first reaction of Celine having a baby, they put "It's a boy".

 

I don't know if the sex of the baby was announced prior to delivery though. She did do an interview for a French tv show. I imagine the question would have come up.

I was shocked too.... I mean, she must be like what? One week and a half pregnant? That's sooo early! For someone as supersticious as Celine, it's strange that she doesn't keep the great news for her and her family a little bit more, just to make sure that everything's ok... The fact that the embryo is "eight years old" (gosh! that's sooo strange to say that! lol) gives them more chances for the pregnancy to be healthy, 'cause an embryo coming from a woman in her early 30's is generally healthier than one from this same woman ten years later, in her 40's.

At first I found it strange that she annouced it so early, but then I realised that they did the same thing when she was pregnant with RC so...

 

And she did talk about the baby's sex when she was pregnant eight years ago. She said that it was a boy on two TV shows, one in Quebec, with Michel Jasmin, and one in France, with Michel Drucker, plus some magasine talked about the news.

For sure there will be some photos of her, when she'll be like seven or eight months pregnant, but 'till then, I'm not sure we'll be hearing from her.

André is married!! I can't see her ever remarrying though, René and Céline couldn't be more meant for eachother.

 

My mom too started counting their age difference, after she heard about Céline's pregnancy on the radio (I had already told her) when they mentioned René's and Céline's ages. I've told her many many times that they have 26 years of age difference but still she was like she didn't know it and was like wow he's almost 30 years older than her, and he's going to be 80 when the future baby turns 13!

I don't get why the age difference is such a big issue. That is usually always the first thing people ask me, "Isn't her husband much, much older than her?" And I'm like, "Yeah, and...?"

Oy I hate corny reference's and I was watching Headline News a bit ago, they mentioned Celine's embryo was eight years old and as soon as the guy started talking it was one corny reference after another with Celine song titles such as "it will take more than the power of love to get her pregnant, it will take an eight year old embryo." something along that line with the power of love reference and then he said something like "was it a Titanic mistake?" and then some quote from Dr Rosenwaks saying no it was fine to use an embryo that's been frozen for eight years, he said something about another song title too but I don't remember what he said....if they show it again later I'll catch it.

Guys you know what I just thought about? The Embryos are the ones that were frozen nearly 9 years ago in NY as confirmed by Dr. Zev Rosenwacks. Being that, one the egg was fertilised after a couple of days the cell multiplied which if i remember correctly, celine said that the embryo was five days old. Since thats the case, then that means the embryo stage for celine is technically older than her pregnancy stage. meaning that though they implanted her last week, she technically would be around the two week pregnancy stage because the egg was already fertilized for five days. being that it was implanted last week, she is at least farther along than we might expect. at least two and a half weeks.

Age especially doesn't matter when two people love eachother as much as Celine and Rene love eachother. Like honestly, i couldn't think of two people who deserve happiness, and another child more than they do. They're an incredible family.

haha I think I got the "isn't her husband like 80?" comment with everyone. After that my friends just ignored my excitement...I didn't even bother to tell my sister because she always makes fun of me for liking Celine, but I guess she saw it on E! cause she texted me and argued with me that it was wrong that she was doing that to the baby cause the baby's father might not be around to watch him/her grow up I told her that there are many families where their parents fight or end up in divorce, or their parents can not afford to feed or put a roof over their childrens' heads. This child will be brought into a home where not only is their future set for them money wise, but they will have parents who are deeply in love and will cherish him/her with all their hearts. Plus they have a huuuge family of aunts, uncles, and cousins to love and support them. I think it's great. There are much worse situations for a baby to be brought into than just having a father who is older.

I couldn't agree more, there are a lot worse things than having an older dad. My parents were in their 40's when they had me and my mom died when I was sixteen, I had no reason to suspect anything would happen to her. You can't always gurantee your parents are going to be around, a twenty year old could have a child and pass away months later, or they could be sixty and have a child and live to be 100. You just don't know really what is going to happen. So why does everyone just assume because someone is "older" that they are going to die and have no right to have kids, my best friend made me really mad because she said Rene "had no right having kids, he's to old." I wish all children had a safe secure future and good financial future like Celine's kids do.

But when I told her that I read in the internet many comments about her age and René's age, she said exactly what you meant in that post, that every one could pass away no matter his/her age... and btw she said to me too that Céline have all the rights to be pregnant now at her age... because of what she herself said before. She also said that everyone who's blaming Céline should shut up, 'cos it's her life and she decides what to do with her life, "if she wants to be preggers, let her be preggers". haha I think I've got a comprehensive mother after all. What my father thinks about Céline is another story!

 

And btw... I'm sorry you lost your mother at 16... It may have been a very big shock for you... but just think she is somewhere watching every little step you make and being proud of you!

Celine's only 41 I thought? Anyway I don't think anyone has any business trying to say Rene shouldn't have a child at his age, you could lose a parent at anytime, they don't have to be old. No one in my family or friends have really made any positive comments about it. Not that they really care, and when I told my dad I was getting Hello canada he was just like "umm okay?" my brothers girlfriend did ask about Celine being pregnant though and I talked to her for a few minutes about it. She was shocked as well that they announced it so early and that Celine could even find out so quickly. She so far other than my friend Brit has been the only one who hasn't said anything negative about it. Well my dad didn't really he just made a joke about not being the one who got her pregnant, well duhh you didn't geez. Parent's sometimes.

 

 

Thank you, my mom passed away after a brief battle with Lymphoma. She only lived six months about being diagnosed. It's been almost seven years, the 23rd of December this coming December will mark seven years. A dear friend of mine told me the samething at my high school graduation in 2005, she wrote me a letter saying how proud she was of me and even though she knew how badly I wanted my mom to be there to just think of how proud my mom was of me.

Of course there have been private discussions between Rene and Celine in regards to the age of Rene and the raising of their children. This is obviously something Celine is prepared to deal with no matter what the outcome.
