Nothing. It's 100% useless for the fans don't speak French. Totally waste of money.

On the other hand, if you learn French and read it you'll see it's one of the best books written about her!!! (sorry OT)

That's why they should always translate her French works.

I just ordered mine! Its on backorder, so maybe I'll get it by christmas lol. It was about $48 USD total. Thats with shipping from Canada. Not bad for that size of a book, and international shipping. Actually, my own photo ablums from the tour cost more than double that to print and put in the albums, and that was only from 10 shows...not around the world. lol. So I'm liking this price.

Same here, the corners were a little bit crushed, but nothing serious at all, even though the package itself was a wreck. I had 2 books in the same package, over 6 kilograms... a bit heavy I guess, and I know people at the post offices and those that load stuff into the airplanes are anything but gentle with all they carry...

I know some french,i can read and write and translate so much,but i think that they should really translate it in english.This is unfair.No any book in english except For Keeps,like we don't have translations of DVD-es neither.Maybe i know some things in french,but i prefer english like many.Is very sad and annoying for people .

There is a promotion until November 11th for many new cds and books just coming out, including this one. This promotion can be seen ("dans la circulaire" d'Archambault Musique distributed within the "cahier weekend" of Journal de Montréal.)

So I paid 39.97$CN instead of 49.95$. I'm so happy to have it finally, I just love it. What a wonderful book!

it's supposed to be released in stores in Canada today oct 15. so i hope my back ordered 4 books on amazon.ca are mailed out today or else i'll try that other dutch website which doesn't sound that bad actually...and it lists the book as a bestseller on its main page WOW!

I really like the pictures of Monte-Carlo! Esp. these with the RDMH dress, the first pic is amazing. Her hairs are in the wind, the dancers are jumping high.... I think this is my fav. show-pic! What do you think about it?

 

I think Celine and her family loved Berlin, because it was not so crowded with fans like in Paris. The pics of Rene Charles and Rene in the Golf Park in Berlin have to be very precious for Celine... Antibes was also great! Taking dinner with view of the ocean have to be amazing!

OMG. I got my re-order books today!! The ONLY reason they weren't all messed up like before was because of....wait for it....GIFT WRAP. They didn't have a special instructions section on the order so I had them gift wrap them cause I thought, well it can't hurt. AHAHAHAHAH! The gift wrap paper took all the rub damage the book would have sustained. The box on this order was just as bad as the first one, but all the damage was taken by Mr. Awesome Blue Gift Wrap. I haven't opened it yet, I am too excited. I hugged it a few times though!

 

So everyone get them to gift wrap it!

 

I will admit I did sing an enduring version of the chorus of "We Are the Champions" upon opening my book. I might have even changed the words to say "I am a genius, Fedexxxxxxxxx". I might have done that haha.

AHAHAHA! Will remember it for the future. I still haven't received my book... plus I've ordered the VH1 Divas Live (2002) DVD more than 2 months ago and also haven't received that... I have a feeling the DVD got lost...

Gérard has begun his promotion tour in Québec for the book. He will be all over the medias this week tv and radio...He was with Denis Lévesque on LCN at 7:00 p.m. tonight for an interview of about 40-45 minutes approx. Of course it's in french but they show a lot of pics too from the book and he talks about Céline, René, RC, Maman Dion.... and the hightlights of this trip on tour around the world with them. It's obvious Gérard loves them very much and has a lot of affection, respect and friendship for Céline and family. He talks about how joyful, funny Céline is and how wonderful it is to be around this woman.

 

If interested you can watch it again tonight live on TVA at 10:45 p.m.(a 40 minutes interview with Gérard approx.)

Gérard has taken 25,000 photos during the tour to choose only about 485! It was difficult to choose he says, he and his wife chose which ones they were going to keep for the book. Never René or Céline told him to take a photo even. René had seen a lot of pictures as they were taken but Céline just discovered them when the test book came out.

 

He says that although RC is a very reserved kid in public, he was having fun a lot when he is with family, he's a well educated boy who likes photography and was asking him technical questions sometimes. When talking about RC he called him his colleague photographer. RC is very funny in their intimacy and he talks a lot contrary to the perception we may have when he is in public where he likes and choose to be more reserved. Gérard talks about the fusionnal relation that have also Céline and René, that they are winners. That they look at each other with the eyes of love and talk with their eyes without having to say a word often time. Lévesque said that in some pics it shows. He says that he had a good complicity with Maman Dion also who's a funny woman too. He talks how Céline was not afraid to go in the lion park and be close to the lions, touching them, that nothing could stop the woman. Everybody else, including himself were more afraid and stayed close to the gate. They were afraid for her but not Céline and fortunately everything was fine.

He's been taking Céline's on photo for 15 years now and he's happy to think they have developed a friendship when asked by Lévesque. Céline is a happy individual and very easy going, with great humour and fun to be around. They talked about when they meet with Nelson Mendela, that was a big moment. Mr Mendela immediately took RC on his lap and Céline was very happy. Mr Mendela was very paternal says Gérard. Gérard was there for everything they did, the boat ride, chocolate store in Bruxelles(Lévesque was happy to point out that Céline and René were never afraid contrary to some other big stars to let out pictures that aren't always glamour moments like the one with the white cap with Céline and RC). Gérard was also there for their visit to a concentration camp in Berlin(a lot of emotions there of course) and pictures that told the story without having to write about it. He was there for Céline shopping....etc....He was happy to have their trust. He is convinced, and that's what he liked a lot, that Céline often time when with RC or René forgot completely his presence. He tried to keep a low profile and make himself part of the furniture lol He was able to take photos on stage very close to Céline, so close sometimes that he would almost stop breathing, not to disturb Céline(like the photo for the cover of the book for example). Also, he recalls the times Céline was sick cuz of the pollution(as many that time in the team) and then had respitory problems, also in Australia, in Pheonix when Mohamed Ali was there. There were time when he saw a vulnerable Céline that was suffering physically. He talked about when Céline received the Legion of honour at the Élysée in France with President Sarkozy and the photo when she has the President's cell to talk to his wife Carla Bruni Sarkozy. Also the photo when her mother and herself were looking at the gardens through the window. Lévesque and him could not have been able to walk that freely at the Élysée any given day he said but they're not Céline Dion! He also recalled a moment in Montréal when Céline came rushing into the dressing room saying to him "Call the doctor!" and she had her face into her hands close to the wall. Céline's jaw locked(apparently it happens to her often) and the doctor made it ok finally and he took pictures of all he wanted always...without never being asked to leave...He was the only one with Rollande to have access to her dressing room...So that and much more made his work a great pleasure and he felt very priviledge.

 

Anyway that was a very short resumé of what has been said.
