Davey84 Posted September 29, 2009 at 11:04 AM Posted September 29, 2009 at 11:04 AM You look great. But first, Celine wore the dress first. Second, the dresses are quite different. So I think the topic title is a bit misleading. Third!! Céline would never steal a dress!!! She has enough money to buy her own, so why would you implicate that!?!? lighten up Bellamy! this topic is just for fun! it's the off topic section, remember?! You look great in that dress! Céline would be proud! MTJ Posted September 29, 2009 at 05:06 PM Posted September 29, 2009 at 05:06 PM I personally don't like black at weddings. Seems too morbid to me. Black, yellow, and baby blue are all traditionally death colors. Also, black always seems a bit like a cop-out to me. But of course design is just as important, and if it's Vera Wang, I'm sure its exceptional! Quote

MTJ Posted October 2, 2009 at 06:43 AM Posted October 2, 2009 at 06:43 AM Phew! I have a dilemma. I bought this Michael Kors watch at Nordstrom a few years ago and love it: Now, I have my eyes on this one: But there are two problems. In order to afford the new one (which is almost $500) I would have to give up the old one (which was $200). Is the new one really worth my old one plus $300? Also, I'm nervous that it's just copying the J12: Now the reason I'm debating this at all is because I have always loved the J12. I purchased a fake one about four years ago (big mistake, I was younger, it broke soon after), and now that Michael Kors has come out with a high quality watch that is ceramic, like the J12 (not acrylic or coated stainless steal, like all of the other copies), I would really love to have it. Now keep in mind that they're both from Nordstrom, so as their return policy goes, if I ever need to return either watch, I can bring them back and get a full refund, no questions asked. What do you guys think? Quote
vroni Posted October 2, 2009 at 01:13 PM Posted October 2, 2009 at 01:13 PM I like the second one definitely better than the first one, if you really want it and it makes you feel good and happy then go for it! Frida Posted October 2, 2009 at 04:22 PM Author Posted October 2, 2009 at 04:22 PM Michael If you like it and think you'll do so for a couple of years (at least) then I say YES, it's worth it. I don't think it's a copy of Chanel's J12, IMO they're quite different. Looks like a lovely choice Quote http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tcc2copy3_zps08f18352.pnghttp://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tccgallery-1.png

Frida Posted October 2, 2009 at 04:45 PM Author Posted October 2, 2009 at 04:45 PM I want a new watch too, but I never find "the one"... perhaps I need to delete my mental picture of it LOL Quote http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tcc2copy3_zps08f18352.pnghttp://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tccgallery-1.png
MTJ Posted October 5, 2009 at 05:18 PM Posted October 5, 2009 at 05:18 PM For my Celine halloween costume, I have everything except the shoes. On Ebay I found some great drag shoes that come in my size. But which ones, and which height shoe I buy? my favorites (but could I walk?) 6" peep toe sluttier, more expensive, 5" kind of boring, but I could walk 5" dancing shoes Quote
Frida Posted October 5, 2009 at 05:26 PM Author Posted October 5, 2009 at 05:26 PM I like the first pair best, but 6", phew... I find 5" (without a platform) hard, and I'm semi-used to them Anything with a heelgrip (the first two pairs) will be more secure on the foot/easier to walk in.. what (US) size are you? Btw, random info: did you know that Nordstrom was co-founded by a swede? MTJ Posted October 5, 2009 at 08:21 PM Posted October 5, 2009 at 08:21 PM I agree. But I like the first pair most. I could practice when I get them. I'm a US 10.5 so I figured I would go with a women's 13 Quote
MTJ Posted October 6, 2009 at 12:03 AM Posted October 6, 2009 at 12:03 AM (edited) I ordered the first pair! I found the best wig ever for a really great price, but it was too blonde, so I dyed it today (with a wig-dye formula I found online), and now it's a darker blond. Like what her long hair looks like when its blonder than usual (but not as yellow as her Live To Love Parfum commercial). And I found a black dress with chains that looks like the shirt she wore to the awards in Poland, and a tux jacket that resembles all the Balmain she's worn. I can't wait to do the make-up and show you all pictures!! BTW the battery on my watch died today--a sign from God for me to buy that new one at Nordstrom this weekend! MTJ Posted October 12, 2009 at 06:45 PM Posted October 12, 2009 at 06:45 PM (edited) Well, y'all will have to wait until after Halloween! Yesterday I bought the watch! I love it so much. Its very large, which I like, and the ceramic band feels so unique. The slate colour and the shiny texture makes it feel like some sort of semi-precious stone. here's a picture I took right after I got it: Also, I was able to rearrange my funds so as to be able to get the great Celine costume. I thought it would have to be the watch or the costume. So I'm happy Edited October 12, 2009 at 06:47 PM by imgoingtobiteyoure_face Quote

ladylindsey Posted October 26, 2009 at 02:40 AM Posted October 26, 2009 at 02:40 AM (edited) I went this week to try on/be measured for my wedding gown. Here it is in all its glory, still ginormous on me but thanks to some super clips, it fit a bit better. I need a size 0 and it was a size 10 sample It pretty much devoured me. Mine will def. fit better! There is literally 12 inches of extra fabric at the bottom because I am THAT short! They assure me the me-size dress will come in with every single bead and row of beads this one had, just proportioned/scaled down somehow so you don't lose any of its wow factor. I still can't grasp my mind around how they would do that, but oh well. It actually looks better in person because it sparkles. But it is Stephen Yearick and I finally got the style number from the bridal shop, but it still isn't online anywhere that I can find! I loveeess it. It makes me feel like a million bucks and people walking by were like "ooooooooohhhhhhhhh". So that's a good sign! I hope you like it! Don't tell my fiancé! I'll do this just in case he magically finds his way on to this thread...lol....
