ladylindsey Posted September 8, 2009 at 04:07 AM Posted September 8, 2009 at 04:07 AM Oh no! I'm sure one of those sequined bags will pop up at just the right time for you to snag Hopefully, at a time when you can afford it. I seem to always find the good stuff on sale when I have just enough money to get me through the month...so I wind up eating really cheaply for the rest of the month but in FABULOUS shoes/clothes haha. I've got to get a job to support my shopping addiction! And I'll give you a bigger hint about the souvenir I MIGHT be getting. It goes on your left ring finger and symbolizes something very important! I'm 95% sure...and if I'm wrong I give up on female intuition. Fingers crossed! HE DID IT! He proposed! We're getting married!!!!!! And what an amazing souvenir!!! http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh193/lindseybeetlebug/DSCN1620.jpghttp://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh193/lindseybeetlebug/DSCN1580.jpg It's Ritani, .8 carat centre stone, white gold for now but getting it in my size in platinum, they couldn't size it down any smaller without the diamonds coming out. Until I get my new setting, I get to wear this one though, then they will switch out the diamonds to the new one It has 53 diamonds total and I LOVE IT. It's the one I picked out So excited! Feminine intuition never lies! i knew it! When we were at the beach last year, his whole family was there, about 25 people in one beach house. We never got to take a romantic walk on the beach at night, so he told me he owed me a walk on the beach when we got to Florida this year. It was just the 2 of us this time, no family! He took me out to eat Friday night, then told me we were walking on the beach. The moon was full and the waves were mild, hardly anyone was on the beach. he asked me how much I loved him and I said something funny, as usual. He said, "Good because I want to ask you something"...down on his knee he goes and I'm like....what is he doing?!?! He said how much he loved me and proposed and I freaked out and said yes about 10 minutes later haha. We are so excited! Quote
Krys Posted September 8, 2009 at 06:12 AM Posted September 8, 2009 at 06:12 AM congrats! im so happy for you the ring's purdy Quote
Frida Posted September 8, 2009 at 06:44 PM Author Posted September 8, 2009 at 06:44 PM Aaaw, congratulations Lindsey, I'm so happy for the two of you! (Gorgeous ring as well!) ladylindsey Posted September 8, 2009 at 09:23 PM Posted September 8, 2009 at 09:23 PM Now on to the real problem. Finding a dress. Geez. My head hurts just thinking about it! I want couture! Quote
MTJ Posted September 9, 2009 at 02:43 AM Posted September 9, 2009 at 02:43 AM That proposal sounds so romantic! on a slightly less, but still exciting note, I just got a great deal on this JCrew cashmere sweater! It was on a super sale -- from $188 down to just 63! Even though I just bought the black one a week ago, I couldn't resist it in white! Apparently their sweaters are woven in the same mill Prada uses. Quote
Frida Posted September 9, 2009 at 04:05 PM Author Posted September 9, 2009 at 04:05 PM Good find Michael! White goes with eveything Lindsey - It's a jungle out there! Do you have any idea what style you want? A-line, princess, ballgown, empire, trumpet/mermaid or column/straight cut silhouette? Sleeves/no sleeves, straps? Halter, boatneck, sweetheart-, V-neckline? "Plain", embroidered, lace? You'll have so much fun picking it out, I'm almost jealous Quote http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tcc2copy3_zps08f18352.pnghttp://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tccgallery-1.png
ladylindsey Posted September 9, 2009 at 05:24 PM Posted September 9, 2009 at 05:24 PM That is a really good discount you got, Michael! And yes, you can wear that with almost anything Frida- oh gosh. Well, I think with my body shape anything over the top a la our dearest Céline would eat me alive. I'm going to try a ballgown on if nothing else just for the heck of it hahaha, but I'm pretty sure the trumpet/mermaid or fitted/straight silhouettes will suit me better. I'm little and short (guh) so I think less dress will be more, maybe make it more dramatic in the train and veil, accessories etc. I like lace and a bit of beading. I have a feeling I won't find anything I like, I have been looking for years thru collections and always kinda like one part of one dress and kinda like one part of another, you know. I know I'll go in and fall in love with the most expensive dress there. That's always how it happens with me I'm afraid lol. I may have one made if I can figure out what I want. I also thought about having my own version of this J Mendel made with some alterations to suit me...because I dearly love this dress since the moment I saw it and it would be like Celine!! I am pretty excited about trying everything on. I know it's early, and I won't go too soon, but a girl's gotta think about it! And then I have to find shoes! Quote

ladylindsey Posted September 12, 2009 at 06:56 AM Posted September 12, 2009 at 06:56 AM geez. this made me laugh for quite awhile. I'm looking into big bridal showrooms and one of the largest in the southern USA , the 3rd largest in the USA actually, says they consider couture $1,400.... I'm never going to find a dress! Someone fly me to paris. Quote
Frida Posted September 12, 2009 at 09:36 AM Author Posted September 12, 2009 at 09:36 AM Uuuhm, id they forget a 0?! Real HC is made-to-order/custom fitted dresses made of the finest fabrics in certain workshops.. (Paris) Do they really have the nerve to call that couture?! I mean couture dresses start at $15,000 - 20,000 aah.. the term is being misused all the time unfortunately.. (I like that Mendel dress btw) Bellamy: aren't their leathers just wonderful?! Frida Posted September 12, 2009 at 08:12 PM Author Posted September 12, 2009 at 08:12 PM (edited) They're airing a 5 part documentary about Chanel here, and on the latest episode they started doing the toile for a couture wedding gown (not for the HC show, but a special order from a client) I can't even imagine getting married in couture Chanel Edited September 12, 2009 at 08:13 PM by Frida Quote http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tcc2copy3_zps08f18352.pnghttp://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tccgallery-1.png
MTJ Posted September 15, 2009 at 09:54 PM Posted September 15, 2009 at 09:54 PM I'm not sure if this is more appropriate here, or in the Celineish closet, but I just saw this pic of kanye, and he's wearing men's balmain jeans! I'm not jealous of him... just of his jeans. Quote
Frida Posted September 16, 2009 at 06:40 PM Author Posted September 16, 2009 at 06:40 PM I actually feel quite sorry for the jeans for having such a jerk of an owner Got my Attling jewelry yesterday, spent the evening cleaning them (don't we just love honest sellers? "Like new" my a***. Ah well, I got them clean and shiny in the end). The plan is to keep the cross and sell the two other items for what I purchased the three for = basically getting the cross for free.. got the lot for $160, retails for more than $520, that won't be a problem.. but I've started to like the droopy pendant, and I could pull it off with my neck so.. hmm, might keep that one as well.. we'll see, it was a steal anyway http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/Blandat/droopypendant1.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/Blandat/signaturebracelet1.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/Blandat/thincross11.jpg Quote http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tcc2copy3_zps08f18352.pnghttp://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tccgallery-1.png
