The snow tire thing was one of my main reasons for not driving, I don't know how that works. As for the weather, I've heard they keep the highway you'll be taking up there pretty clear because it's a main route. So hopefully you won't have to worry about driving through the snow

I've searched a bit and there is indeed a law in the Quebec province which states that every vehicle for transporting people (cars, vans, pickups, suvs, etc...) are required to have wintertires during the winterperiod from December 15 to March 15.

I think it's a good law... In Germany there is a similar law and I can't complain about it, I actually wish they make a law like this in Belgium also. I'm using wintertires for several years now (from the start of november to the end of march) and I'm happy to have them. It's much safer to drive with wintertires during wintertime.

I called Montreal department of something today, but they deal with the laws and whatnot. The lady I spoke with said that the tire law is only for cars registered in Quebec. So we can drive around without a ticket!

We are thinking about going into Charlemagne on Saturday now since we have our car. Now we can deck out the car with Celine love!

My DSLR is indeed coming with my, it will fit in my special backpack for photo equipment and my laptop which I can bring as handluggage on the plane... However for my HD video cam i'm still having my doubts...

I have some options:

1) DSLR & Laptop in special backpack which fits the handluggage requirements, the HD cam in my suitcase.

2) DSLR & HD Cam in a special case for my camera which fits also the handluggage requirements and my laptop in my suitcase

3) DSLR & Laptop in special backpack leaving the HD cam at home

Option 3 is the safest but then I don't have my cam with me... Option 2 will work also but then I'll take the risk of getting a broken laptop back or even a lost one if my suitcase goes missing. I don't like this very much since there's a lot of info on my laptop wich I don't want to lose (or working weeks to retreive all on several backups). Option 1 isn't my favourite since the camera is from my employer so when the airline loses my suitcase i'm really screwed because they probably won't pay it back (only 2.500 USD covered I think)...

But then again, I'll have another 3 days to think about it :lol: :icon_mrgreen:

If there isn't and a lot of people have other things to do, I am totally down with geting together with anyone that wants to. Also some people can come with us if we go into Charlemagne! I think I am more excited to meet the fans than see the concerts :laugh:

Hi everyone! To answer a few questions (that have really already been answered)...

It's "warm" here - around the freezing point which is about 20 degrees celsius warmer (no kidding) than last weekend! Still, if you're coming here dress WARM and be ready for any kind of weather: snow, ice, rain, sun! A nice warm, waterproof pair of boots is a MUST.

The woman you spoke with is correct- the winter tire law is only for cars registered in QC. We get American drivers up here all the time (I saw license plates from just about every New England state downtown this weekend) so no worries.

Finally, yes I found my ticket on admission.ca. I had been checking that and ticketmaster for the last few weeks. $195. I am not sure if there are other tickets available at other price points but my guess would be yes. I only bought 1 ticket so that may have helped find the best possible seat.

Umm, I'm sure about 1001 people will bring her flowers It's Montreal people always bring her tons and tons of gifts so no worries. Anyway, I'm on a catwalk seat, so I may try. It depends if there are stairs leading down to it. I'll have to check it out on Thursday.

I have a question. I'm taking the train in. Is there any where to get my money exchanged to Canadian dollers in ethier Penn Station New York or Central Station in Montreal? I'll be getting there pretty late so I would like to take a cab...but I need some Canadian money to do that.

Celcius. And if you click on the "English" on top left of the box thingy, you'll get Farenheit.
