so why are so many people against a Vegas return??????

 

13 reasons (people feel free to add )

 

1 She'll be stuck in Vegas again, which means that;

1a people will forget about her (many already thought she quit singing)

1b no matter how good the new album(s) they will be ill promoted, so they'll never reach the amount of people it should

2 Probably an aweful, uninspired setlist, I'm guessing AND part 2 with only 3 to 4 new songs which leads to

3a a lot of them will be playback (or partly playback)

3b the grand return of robotic celine

4 in a way she can never top AND, it will even be just as, or worse; in any case it will aways be compared to it

5 she can risk vegas throat again

6 even more americanization of la p'tite quebecoise

7 even more radio singles only, which will flop anyway due to 1b

8 she's less reachable for fans

9 she doesn't get the break she deserves

10 it will cost fans a lot of money encore to get to see her

11 vegas = probably no second child

12 vegas = probably no callas movie

13 she should be; been there, done that

if she'll be back in Vegas to do a nightly show again, expect to see an 80 year old looking Celine Dion after. she forced herself too much in this decade, and the toll she's been paying after A New Day... is getting more obvious now. look at the poor woman now. almost dying. she BADLY needs a break. i won't mind not seeing her in 3-5 years, as long as she's enjoying her life with "hopefully" a new baby, RC and Rene. i can't help but feel devastated everytime i hear/read that she's sick. a new album is ok. do a little promotion and TV appearances, and like she said during the ANDHC era, "let this album find its life...". she doesn't have to go on huge tour again to promote it. as long as she's happy, i'm cool. but doing another Vegas show 5 days a week is a NO NO. it won't do her any good.

I don't completely agree with you here

Has everyone forgotten what Celine is doing from March ish time?? Starting her break!! I think the length of the break will depend on whether the IVF works or not. So there'll be the baby before any new project.

Since when does Celine get the promotion she deserves anyway??? She's hardly had any in the UK since the late 90's.

Because of the success of AND i'm pretty sure that Rene would know that to do another show in Vegas it would have to be completely different.

If she does Vegas again, it'll be instead of Elton so only for a couple of months per year. And she wouldn't have to be travelling all the time - like she has been this year - so she'll have more time to be with her family, and i'm hoping, to be more choosy in what projects she does.

What i'm more excited about is this time next year we'll know if Celine is pregnant or not!!! I really hope she is - and i'd love for her to have a little girl this time.

I want to go back for a holiday there, but I want to combine my holidays with concerts of Celine like a did this year (Montreal) and the year before (Vegas).

I don't care and understand that she 'll need to rest for a year or more and also that she wants to take time for her family and her new baby (by the way I hope she 'll gets a beautiful healthy baby girl!)

It would be nice if she surprise us in Vegas with something new and never seen, like for example songs she never sung on concerts or a couple of acoustic live versions or something where the audience or fans can involve or ....

Arzel is totally the wrong guy for working on Ferland songs, for that she would need someone who can write orchestral stuff: lot's of strings and brass. She should conctact *Monsieur* Nagano-san and record those songs with the Montreal Symphony

Ooo twins would be perfect for her haha. She'd spoil them to bits. I would love love love for her to have a little girl. Celine jr (I think she'd name her Karine). She'd dress her so cute in tinsy Balmain dresses . I wonder if she'd consider adopting... Anyways. I hope of course for her to take a break, but above all these projects (After a long break) I can't wait for a french album. They're always so poetic and seem to have more passion than her english albums. The Callas movie comes in second. I think she'd be a great actress and I'd be interested in seeing that. I have to wait for real confirmation on any of this before I get excited. This seems like a lot of projects...and I sorta of thought that her career was winding down in place of more family time. I would be so so so happy to get any of these new projects over retirement!

If she goes back to Vegas she can't do what she did before (5 nights a week, 42 weeks out of the year) it's way too much and the American Ecomony is not healthy enough to support it. It won't be as successful as "A new day.."

 

That being said, if she did indeed do somthing like Elton with limited engagements throughout the year, that would be fine. I originally remember hearing she was looking at 75 shows a year in 2010. That is far more reasonable then what a "A new day" part two would be! And only 75 shows a year would practically guarantee success.

 

I support Vegas if it's a completely new concept and show; but more importantly, if it's schedule is reigned in quite a bit more, giving Celine the needed rest she deserves.

So we´ll have news about the pregnancy no later than April, I think. She'll start training for the opera thing while pregnant (Kent Nagaro or something was this guy's name wasn't it? I'm always confused, if what she's doing with this man has anything to do with the Callas movie ) ... then the comeback might be this opera thing or new pop french and/or english material (someone said ballad heavy, yey!!!)... and by late 2010 we'll have New Vegas... oh my dion! so much speculation is getting me dizzy!

I Agree Alex is right the embroyo may or not be a twin NOT for sure.. it has a chance it could be a twin but it could also be another NON TWIN boy or girl and and helathy baby is great but I hope Celine has a girl.

I just want Celine to be happy and healthy. I think for that, her priorities need to be; some time off, and trying to have another baby. She needs, and deserves the rest, and we all know how much she wants another child- if she never tries, she will regret it. So I'm glad those things are in her plans.

 

Further thoughts...As for Vegas, it probably wouldn't be my first choice for her. And if she does the Callas movie I will probably throw up But I came to love Celine for who she is, not who I want her to be. So I'm just going to have to find a way to support whatever she does!

 

Now, as for the baby thing, didn't we just finish un-confusing ourselves, a few months ago?

The "twin" is a laboratory twin, meaning the embryo was concieved at the same time as RC. It could, by some chance, be an identical twin, but it's more likely fraternal. Besides that, Celine and Rene went back to the fertility clinic last year and created some more embryos (they have to make several because they usually implant 3 at a time) so there are plenty of chances it could be a girl.

 

And I don't want to get excited and hyper, but yeah if it works she could be having a baby this time next year! Or twins would be awesome! One of my other favourite artists has twin girls and they are soooooo cute! I really regret not following her pregnancy with RC...it was just before I became a fan. I love watching people be pregnant, and I love babies. (And since Ashlee Simpson-Wentz gave birth yesterday, there are no famous people I like, who are pregnant, anymore! And we're still waiting to see the cute lil baby.) Excuse rambling. I'm done now.
