Is this real? Anyone else have this?

 

Well, it sort of reminds me of the things I used to come up with on my computer when I was bored, so I'd be suspicious. I'd also make the observation that real or not, whoever came up with this isn't the most talented person in the world when it comes to graphics design. Of course, this doesn't prove anything, but I'd say someone trying to prove that it is real would have a much more difficult task convincing me than someone trying to prove that it isn't real.

I like your point, but I never would have bought anything suspicious myself, so having this in my collection makes me a little more positive that its real, because something convinced me back then that this is real that's why I bought it otherwise I wouldn't pay $400 for it!!!

I can read Celine on the inner barcode circle. I don't think that would be there if it was a fake. But maybe there is a way to print something like that on a CD. But then again, as Celine Forever pointed out, the graphics arent great. Maybe they don't pay the staff very well in Sony Philipines.

It's pretty interesting I must say.

 

Did you buy it from a private seller? Or online? 400... That was pretty brave of you.

I bought it from an eBay seller few years ago. He had IYAMT Philippine 7'' single with BIN so I bought it and asked him if he has any other Philippine releases of Celine and he offered me this and I bought it. I wouldn't say I'm brave, I just had the money 3 years ago when I was still living with my parents. Now that I moved out its not the same

 

but yeah, Sony Philippines can't be much bothered with much, if you judge by their shared 7'' singles with no covers. I believe my IYAMT 7'' had that song on one side and some other song from another artist on the other side. So yeah, not much money to produce more fancy stuff I guess..

I have a question, so I found a copy of the Mon Ami M'a Quittee vinyl 7" on eBay and the seller is from Belgium so I'm hoping it's the Belgium version. I want to ask this gentelman for the publisher number since he did not list it in his description, but he does not speak English and I don't speak French. Can someone here write out how to ask this question, please??

I bought it on eBay a few months ago, and I can't help notice that on Power of the Music it says that all three known releases come in a cardsleeve, whereas my copy - which has no catalogue number, by the way - came in a jewelcase. So, my point is: did I waste $60?

I think this is real. Its a promo cd-r from Canada, whereas the other promo's were from France. (I accidentally listed the 1 track promo, sampcs13926, twice on the site)

Not necessarily - it depends on the particular items in question. I'd say that the normal "Contre Nature" card sleeve promo CD from France is rarer than the CD-R promo from Canada. On the other hand, there's also a CD-R promo from Canada for "You and I" that is much rarer than the corresponding European promo CD.

I was always under the impression that CD-R promos are always rarer. Oh well, just learned something new today!

Well, as I've said before, it can be hard to tell with recent CD-R promos.

 

In this case, I'd say that I'd expect a real promo to contain a copyright notice, so I would have doubts. Too much doubt for me personally to contemplate paying the current $199 US asking price on eBay.

 

(With this said, someone will probably be able to come up with a counterexample of a release that is known to be genuine yet doesn't have a copyright notice, so this doesn't prove anything). Unless anyone knows an insider at Sony Music Brazil, there's probably no way to say for certain one way or the other, this is just the sense I get.

I could tell you that it's a fake, because there is no copyright notice and letters in the Columbia logo are not the same size. Just my opinion, but I really don't know.

It looks fake to me, too. I would imagine even the blandest of promos having some kind of code, number or sth. that sort of looks "official". Besides, it's very easy to get the photo in HQ and print it onto a CD nowadays, so I don't know. I wouldn't risk it though. I still believe the only real promo is the French one which comes in a custom sleeve.

There was a gorgeous fake "Did You Give Enough Love" single on eBay a few years back.

 

Its design was far superior to the real thing - I would have loved it if it were real.

 

I didn't purchase it, but I might have a saved picture of it somewhere.

I think the one who bought them all back then, is selling them seperately now
