Great fantastic concert....we all know its going down in history as one of the best concerts ever created, but celine needs to be careful next time she hikes her dress up during performing..example- J'irai où tu iras with Nanette Workman...just had to mention it

finally my dvd arrived today!!!

I just took a peek at it and noticed that they "fixed" Garou's mistake with the lyrics in "Sous le vent", which seems nice to me.

I guess there's more edited stuff throughout the concert. Anything remarkable or just little things like this?

finally my dvd arrived today!!!

I just took a peek at it and noticed that they "fixed" Garou's mistake with the lyrics in "Sous le vent", which seems nice to me.

I guess there's more edited stuff throughout the concert. Anything remarkable or just little things like this?

 

I think it's very good that they corrected Garou's little mistake.

 

I've compared a couple of songs from the DVD with the TV recordings on youtube, and the camera views on the DVD are much better as they capture all the special parts. For example, during Sous le Vent, when Celine touches Garou's face, the TV recording showed this part at a distance, whereas on the DVD it's shown up close I suppose cos it was live it was harder to get all the right angles at the right time...

You're absolutely right! They thought that maybe they didn't get all the right angles at the right time.

So that's why Jean Lamoureux who directed it said they watched the whole thing all over with all those angles of film they had and did another montage with the best images of everyone that night. Of course the first montage being made live on the spot for TV was good but reviewing all the many camera angles they had they wanted to put in more time to give us the best they had(not to talk about those very nice backstage bonus of Céline during the show itself). I think it shows how profesionnal this team is and that they wanted to give to people the best possible DVD for this most memorable Céline show on the Plains! That shows a lot of profesionnalism and respect to me because they could have easily put it out as it was because it was good the first time...but now it's even better!

I LOVE this DVD!! I watched the whole show last night and I was once again.

And it's not just about Celine and my love for her, it's because every artist that performed that night were superb. I love Quebec's music, they have such beautiful songs. Thanks to Celine, I started listening to Garou and Marc Dupré and they became one of my favorites male singers.

 

And just so you know, the blond and youngest girl of the backup singers is Annie Villeneuve. She participated on the Star Academie in 2004 and she's known in Quebec. I listened to her first album some time ago and I loved it so much that I eventually purchased the album and an acoustic dvd that she released later. She's great and has a really beautiful and sweet voice. She's a fan of Celine too so it was a dream to sing with her in this concert.

While I love this DVD, I think it's nicer just to have to have it available in Canada as the concert was especially organised for Quebec, and also I don't think it would sell very well worldwide...

You're right Annie Villeneuve was there. In fact she was a backup singer that night and was so trilled that they have asked her. The brown hair girl by her side is her twin sister Suzie who did also Star Académie the same year. You're right also to say that Annie is very big fan of Céline, a very big fan. Throughout the week that followed that great Céline show Annie was invited on a morning TV program where she said it was the best night for her, a dream come true, that it was just a PERFECT night, PERFECT. She was on cloud nine really, she couldn't stop prasing Céline as a singer but also as a person, how accessible and wonderfully nice she was and everything...it went on and on. Anyway on this program, hosts knew Céline too, they agreed and seemed very happy for Annie to have this dream night come true for her.

 

Backstage bonus on the DVD, here is some translation of what went on in the car :

As for what Céline and René are saying in the car, René says to Céline something to the effect that it was great with Ginette at the end. Céline says the accapella ending didn't came out. René replies "Oh NO, what are you saying, it did!! Didn't you hear how crazy they went.." Céilne says I didn't hear it in my ear monitors though...anyway I did the best I could so..." René says something like "You know Céline it was a BIG moment your duet with Ginette tonight, people were so happy". I completely lost it myself too, it was too much she says, I started crying like a baby. Then they speak about the night. Céline says how Ginette looked beautiful, how good she was, how proud Ginette was and looked(Manon agrees "yes she was so proud"). Céline says how good the family was, that it sounded fat. René agrees and her sister Manon agrees also saying there was no distorsion or anything and that it was a big moment for them. Céline says how it strikes(?lack of a better english word) when Éric Lapointe comes on stage. René ask Céline if she was caught by surprise when Éric went on his knees. Céline said she didn't see him right away at first and then she saw him there. René says how great everybody was, everyone was good tonight he says. He also talks about the pacing of the show, that it was building stronger as the night went...Mes aieux, than the family, followed by Zachary...Céline says how she liked Claude's performance and song and sings parts of it at some point.

 

In the car at the beginning René-Charles is singing "Dans un autre monde". In fact he's kind of humming in no language, making up words and sounds of his own. When Céline notice it she makes up an ending with him "go go we've got to go..." and says : "you're in great shape Loulou"(affectionate nickname).

 

I did my best translating most of it the way I recall it guys. I hope I didn't miss too much. Maybe it won't be in the right order it happened but I think you have most of it now. Enjoy! If I remember something else, I'll post it here.

I'd imagine that's very useful for her if she was to forget the words. However you can only do that with an end stage. Imagine her having screens like those in the round on the TC Tour!

You play it on your regular DVD player or just on PC with a special program?

 

On the back of the DVD it says:

So basically the DVD is North America Region 1, but if you have a multi-region DVD player then you're fine. If not, you may be able to find a code on the internet for your DVD player model that you enter using the remote to unlock it and make it multi region. I did this and now I can watch anything!

 

If you want to play the DVD on your computer, you may encounter a problem as your DVD drive is probably set to a certain region, and it's annoying to change it - and you can only do this 5 times. To overcome this, download a free program called 'DVD43'. This will work in the background whenever you insert a DVD and it will let your computer play the DVD, no matter what region it is.

Every singer uses that on concert and TV shows. Celine uses it everywhere.
