If I order from Team Celine, will it play on players here :shrug:

 

I'm from UK too and I've ordered a copy.

 

The DVD is Region 1 NTSC, and UK is Region 2 PAL, so it won't work unless you have a multi-region player, but even then I don';t think it would work because it's NTSC (TV signal) where as Europe is PAL.

 

 

However, you can use a very good free program called SmartRipper to rip the entire DVD to a .vob file on your PC in it's original quality :)

However, you will also need this free program called DVD43. This program stops your DVD drive thinking it's playing a DVD that is not in your geographical region, and therefore allows SmartRipper to do it's job :D

It's pretty easy to get most DVD players that have a region 2 code lock to become region free. There are codes and hacks all over the net. You just need your make and model no. and google region free or multi region hacks.

Failing that many of the cheapo DVD players you can buy in supermarkets (makes like ALBA etc.) play multi region straight out of the box. The idea that you have to spend mega bucks on buying a multi region player is completely wrong.

 

It won't matter if its PAL or NTSC as most TV's these days are able to play both formats.

 

On a seperate note my Ebay purchase arrived today, am watching it at the moment!

Gosh no I wouldn't think so, as i say google it for your player and see what comes up. It's usually just typing in a code on your remote in a particular way. Sometimes you need a univeral remote (like a oneforall) If you need one,you can get them from places like Argos and then return them once you've put the code in. I've made 3 DVD's multi-region in the past with no problem.

I've got a really cheap DVD player with built in karaoke and it's about 6 yeras old, and that played a Region 1 DVD I have, although I did use a hack but I didn't know if it worked because the hack for a slightly different model...

 

Oh well at least I klnow my copy of Sur les plaines will work B)

Oh, ok:) That sounds easy, let's see if that would be possible for mine, since it's something with a HDD and tons of other (somewaht useless) stuff.

thats awesome that you got your copy today. My copy shipped today and i should have it in about a week. Its a early christmas presant to my mom and she thinks that its impossable to get. I bet shes going ot be surprised...i hope. :)

It's a pretty nice DVD...

 

the formatting isn't too fancy. Very basic menu, not too many things going on. The "show" part of the DVD starts with rehearsals, etc, then shows the show, revealing Celine backstage from time to time, then ending with Celine backstage and in her car on the way to the plane. One of the cutest parts is Rene Charles singing in the car on the way to the plane to the tune of "Dans un autre monde" but he's making up his own tune, and Manon is singing along and Celine turns to Rene, then points back to RC and turns around to him... I wish I knew what he was saying to the tune of her song. LOL

 

Alas, it's all in French, with no English. The Quebecois sure are proud of their French speaking heritage. LOL But, c'mon... some English subtitles would have made this perfect. There is a lot of non-Celine stuff during the show... she sounded pretty good. There were a few times where it was just kinda there. It was all live, but sounded weird in some parts because it wasn't Celine's band. There was a large orchestra, directed by someone else other than Mego, and totally different back up singers.

 

All in all, another addition to a fan's collection, of non-English schtufff... lol

I've been learning french at school for the past 3 years so I can undersand quite a bit. I'm hoping to study it at A-Level so I might be fluent in a few years time!

 

I think the UK (and US) has the worst reputation for learning languages as we expect everyone to speak english!

i've been studying French for a year but as you get older it's harder to find time for it

I finally got mine yesterday.It's perfect.I gotta watch it,but the only thing is that i dont like is that they neither have english subtitle(is that too much!),but we got used to even is not fair cuz there's no everybody that can speak french.I'm happy to have it finally.Woho..I gotta prepare for 3 and half hours...

Thanx God that my dvd player can play region 1 without any problems.I thought it would be a problem,but is not.

The DVD is fabulous!!! I love the backstage and behind the scenes footage. Plus, the concert is a memorable piece.

Just got mine! I hate the region 1 thing, it makes absolutely no sense on a music dvd. Also, the dvd package is poorly and cheaply made. Nothing special.

As I haven't seen the files from the download section, can anyone tell me if theres some difference between what's on the multimedia section and the DVD?
