sayyed Posted October 8, 2008 at 07:27 PM Posted October 8, 2008 at 07:27 PM Compaird to other songs on TC I really like it. Of course there were a ton of good songs on the album, but there were a couple (like "I got nothin' left") that weren't produced nicely. She over-sang them. I think she sang this one well, and the music is good, but the layout of the song seems messy. I love songs like MHWGO where its verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, ending. Nice and simple, with only a key change in bridge. Sorry, I'm ranting.... I disagree.... I think the key changes make this song interesting. It somehow reminds me of Anastacia's Underground Army. it has the same mood, key changes and quite similar lyrics. Quote https://soundcloud.com/finnremixes
CelineRox Posted October 8, 2008 at 07:31 PM Posted October 8, 2008 at 07:31 PM Yay! I love it! Can't wait to hear it in better quality Quote http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm31/celinedion82/Emilylove-signature-1.jpg
Taking Chances Posted October 8, 2008 at 07:45 PM Posted October 8, 2008 at 07:45 PM I think this song is amazing. I love everything about it... except maybe the changed title. Let Me Be Your Soldier is so much better. There Comes A Time sounds really boring, and LMBYS says more about it, a whole lot actually. I can't wait for the HQ! Quote

idroveallnight Posted October 9, 2008 at 01:31 AM Posted October 9, 2008 at 01:31 AM I'm not going to spoil this album release for myself by listening to the whole song but I listened to a little bit of the beginning and end and I have to say that the lyrics are just corny. I was extremely frustrated that they didn't make My Love the last song on this album and now I'm even more ticked that this is the last song. Of all the amazing songs Celine has sung in her career this is the last song on her GH cd. I'm sure like all her other songs this will grow on me but for now it's a disappointment. Quote
Love, Posted October 9, 2008 at 01:52 AM Posted October 9, 2008 at 01:52 AM An insipid song all in all. A worthy reject. I AGREE. I've listened to it on repeat like 10 times while working, relaxing and doing things throughout today... and I've come to the conclusion that it's... dull and boring. It's like, there are some pieces and some important elements missing to this song... Quote
rhapsodion Posted October 9, 2008 at 02:07 AM Posted October 9, 2008 at 02:07 AM The intro actually reminds me of the Celine Dion perfume commercial. haha~ I quite like this song, something some-what different. Not a drastic change, but not the same old same old ballad too. The lay out of the song also reminds me a bit of "Et s'il n'en restait qu'une (je serais celle-là)" without the bridge. Quote
luciusbright Posted October 9, 2008 at 04:53 AM Posted October 9, 2008 at 04:53 AM although it's in low quality I can't helping listen to it over and over again It's such a beautiful and touching song so happy Celine has another amazing ballad no matter it would be a single or not Quote S'il suffisait d'aimer...

Prince Whiskers Posted October 9, 2008 at 10:41 AM Posted October 9, 2008 at 10:41 AM This song doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as RNTTRO. RNTTRO may not be the most enjoyable but is certainly the most exquisite song on TCH. Case closed. Agree. Because of the different sound and rythm, because its different from any other song on the album. As My Love and Map To My Heart. I'm more convinced each time that the more strange song, the more different sound the songwriters and producers add to Céline's new songs, the more I like it. She needs that. She needs a BIG change on her sound, not the typical song structure verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge with piano and guitars. Maybe she should try some electronic music, new instruments, a synthesizer... that would be great and really a "taking chances" album/song. Case closed for me too Edited October 9, 2008 at 12:22 PM by Gonzalillo Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

Even if this song was given to me in the worst possible quality, I would probably still be able to see and hear its potential or lack of potential. In my opinion, this song has no climax, no power, no authenticity. If it has anything to do with a "soldier," it's like a defeated soldier surrendering. That's why it was rejected from "Taking Chances." Edited October 9, 2008 at 03:39 PM by Love, Quote

I usually agree with you Sophoan, but this time, I have to respectfully disagree The more I listen to it, the more it feels like it should have been a part of the album. While it has no 'climax', per se, the song builds and builds with emotion until the end, when she's all out of fight and all she can do is whisper... 'This Time' had no climax either and was extremely repetitive but people here love that song... The main question is : WHY record these songs then never release them? Whats the damage done by keeping the tracks on the album as recorded? I'm not just talking about this song, but the many, many others she's recorded and Sony has kept sealed... 'This Time' had no climax either and was extremely repetitive but people here love that song... Thanks for your opinion. The more I listen to this song, the more I realize that the producers made the right decision to leave it out of "Taking Chances." Although "This Time" was quite repetitive - it had a lot more heart and soul to it than this song that Celine had recorded from 12AM to 2:30AM and finally called it quits. "This Time" made sense to be repetitive, because of the essence of people suffering from domestic violence in that the abuser would abuse time and time again - until "THIS TIME" in which the abused finally stands up. And you're right about the end of "There Comes A Time" where all she can do is whisper, because I'm sure there was nothing else she could do to make this song any better. When it comes to a song inspired by war (if it is...), this doesn't have any of that appeal. It's more of a "Seduces Me" type of song. Yeah, this song might work for some of you looking for an aphrodisiac, and you can dress up in your camouflage outfits before lovemaking! LOL Edited October 9, 2008 at 05:44 PM by Love, Quote
