I love the song! just heard it on youtube and it instantly makes me connect to it. which not something i could have said about many of the songs on TC. in fact i liked map to my heart, the reason i go on and this one way better then for example, skies of la, song for you, new dawn etc. so sad our celine is stuck with a very bad record company...

they should at least use Let Me Be Your Soldier as the song's subtitle. "There Comes a Time (Let Me Be Your Soldier)" would be a perfect title.

Sorry, dhena, both The Mystic Cat and Manuel agree that it's a dull song. Never thrilled about ASFY and ND but I like them better. They're well-produced.

Having listened to the song a good few times now I stand by my original opinion that it's nothing more than standard album track fare, a worthy choice to be cut from "Taking Chances." Good to have a new song but not one of her best.

Well Im not going to be a fan of this song, its ok, a bit of a dreamy song, where as Celine needs a huge song not a boring dreamy song, about being a soldier coming to your rescue,[ oh the cheese]

 

and i agree the" map to my heart" is soooo much better.

Having listened to it I have to say the song didn't really grow on me at first but I think it will sound amazing in HQ.

 

However I was a little bored of those repetitive lyrics , the only bit I enjoyed was at the end (the final verse).

 

I think the last line is totally unnecessary, the way she says "I'll die for you" makes you think there is more to come so I feel it ended quite abruptly. I think it would sound better if she whispered it asnd then they add an echo that fades out at the very end.

 

Personally I'd give this song 6/10. I much prefer MTMH and TRIGO , but I think these 3 extra songs could have easily replaced ASFY, SOLA and RNTTRO... :yes:

 

So so far I don't really know what to make of it...but I'm sure I'll love it in HQ!!

I think that "Ain't Gonna Look The Other Way" would have perfectly fit on the "Taking Chances" album. It's such an amazing song and I love it soooo much!! Just wish they had put on the "My Love" album! But I of course understand that they can't please everyone.

It's been such a long time since Céline doesn't record good songs that when one of these songs comes up it sounds good to many This happened with some lyrics of TC, like My Love or Map To My Heart. Those are interesting songs that saved the album, but it has many flop songs that hasn't nothing to add to Céline's career. And this luck of inventiveness and quality has been present since 2003.

 

There comes a time for a really good song, and there comes a time for a really good album, since 2003

 

The lyrical, sound, and production quality of albums like TCOML, FIY and ANDHC has been absent since then.

Skies of LA is my favorite on the album, actually. I don't understand why it wasn't more popular.

Compaird to other songs on TC I really like it. Of course there were a ton of good songs on the album, but there were a couple (like "I got nothin' left") that weren't produced nicely. She over-sang them. I think she sang this one well, and the music is good, but the layout of the song seems messy. I love songs like MHWGO where its verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, ending. Nice and simple, with only a key change in bridge. Sorry, I'm ranting....

Or even Let Your Heart Decide, that would fit in TC as it's the same rock style as other songs in there and it hasn't been released on an album like thr french version has on ONCP...
