Ive always loved Celines first English album....The colour of my love! and her 1st song ever 'the power of love' its sooo different from any of her other material! with its hard rock approach!! i just love it. :D Edited by Hilda

This part of the Forum was supposed to discuss things about Celine, important matters.

There's a section for nonsense, you know?

Otherwise it all turns into a big fiasco and a real waste of time to go through the different threads to find replies like the ones above.

It's really a bad album, Celine's worst absolutely.

I suppose you are absolutely terrified of the uptemto tracks like Unison, Love By Another Name (gotta love the robot companion lmao) and I Feel Too Much?

I was blasting this out of my car CD player with the windows up through the westen Chicago suburbs yesterday! Sure, I looked early '90s---but those songs rock. Taking Chances? Take Unison!

Hi Manuel...!!!

terrified? I don't quite get that. I just happen to hate the album, but "WDMHBN" and "HAH", that's it.

I don't get the whole robot thing either.

"The Last to Know" and "If We Could Start Over" are ESSENTIAL Celine ballads! It's an album that is too often overlooke.

Starting from Céline herself :ermm: :glare: . She completely ignored it only two years after, in 1992. After that, only WDMHBN have survived from the burning. 1 song out of 10, and what can I say? Its not the best song of the album IMHO -_- Too bad :nono:

But well, the same happened with so many other Céline albums... that I've lost the count :P . It seems like there's only TPOL, LCMM, BYLM, IACBTMN and MHWGO everywhere we go and listen Céline since 1996

And sadly, that's what the non-fans and the audience perceive in the concerts: year after year, decade after decade, there's always the same classic songs collection, plus some other new songs, some miraculously included in the repertoire, that are her recent "hits", singles that have been somehow in the radios lately, but that aren't necessarily good songs at all.

So we keep waiting for those unknown songs to be sung someday by Céline, but that doesn't happen. It just wont happen if they keep doing things this way  She records many new songs, she give us many albums, but always sing the same songs over and over again :ermm:

That's why I understood why the french journal Le Monde said in their critic about Céline's tour in France this year: a great singer with a good show and amazing voice, but what a shame that she seems to be stuck in the past century

Just look at the energy that Celine put into her shows back then! All 100% live, she was on top of the game---she really had to prove herself--and she certainly did.

I'm amazed that she kept "Calling You" in her shows as long as she did.

A desert road from Vegas to nowhere... - could have been a haunting number among the blah songs of her latter shows of "A New Day...".

 That's a thing I don't understand (and I think I'll never get it). I don't understand why she has to resort to those cover songs when she has more than 500 recorded songs, many of them masterpiece songs that have never had a chance to be sung live on a stage  .

And if its about singing famous classics, she already has her own classics (we everyone know what are them  ). She's a living legend with her own classic hits. But why to add Fever, I've Got The World On A String, All The Way etc... having brilliant gems waiting to shine onstage in front of an audience?

And this applies to the current world tour setlist. What's the sense of a Queen medley? That's typical for an amateur singer mini tour, but Céline Dion? With a repertoire of +500 songs? No way

You know what? They keep using the formula they used when Céline was starting to build her career in the 80's. They used medleys that included famous songs from other famous singers (remember Somewhere Over The Rainbow and Up Where We Belong in 1985 "En Concert" album?, Tribute to Felix Leclerc, Starmania medley, songs from The Beatles in FIY and LTAL tours...).

Now she has a huge career to keep doing that. She doesn't have to sing others songs today to attract people to her concerts, because she has her own big hits.

René's good instinct is not updated and is stuck in the past, because they have hardly changed anything in Céline's promotion, concerts and marketing. Quite the opposite, it has been from bad to worse. But when she will stop doing this and when she will realize that she has many great songs that fans want to listen live?. Gosh, I see her ten years later performing a Michael Jackson medley in her concerts

That's something that bothered me too. I loved the "Show must go on" cover though. That really is a song for her voice.

But the ending was all cover songs except for the last two. I loved the whole concert, don't get me wrong, but I felt a bit dissapointed that I didn't hear more of her own songs. I'm not a fan of James Brown but of her!

I would have given anything if she had switched those songs with older material. Like 'Feel too much', 'Unison' or 'Water to the Moon'

Just because they're older songs, doesn't mean they're bad. Some are even far better then some songs she puts on albums (Song for you  )

Well back in 1987 René wanted Céline to be part of the Sony family so he'd..... :whistling:

Oke I don't want to make this into another discussion about the setlist of the tour, but since the Falling Into You tour most of the songs are the same... they are even more short and they are mostly lipped -_- Céline should say; 'René 'oney... I am sick fo these songs! I won't perform them in 10 years and it's too bad I make some old ladies mad, because I didn't sing them'

Instead of the James Brown medley or the IACBTMN/BYLM/TLYM medley she should have done something like: If there was any other way/ I feel too much/ Did you gave enough love/ everybody's talking my baby down or The Last To Know/ Water From The Moon/ Nothing Broken But My Heart/ Only One Road

Exactly!! But they don't get that :glare: And if they really believe that Unison songs are too old to be sung and to be liked today, they'r fools.

I KNOW! if they would have looked at Madonna's concerts they could have learn how to update a very old song, and make the crowd go wild for it! I'm not saying I Feel Too much should be played the same, that would be too outdated, but they could have made the music more modern! :pinch:

I do wish they would have gone through and recorded her INCOGNIO tracks in English, too. I wonder if any others were.

No i'm glad they didn't! I dont think the other songs, well apart from D'abord C'est Quoi L'Amour would have worked in English.... she should have recorded more rock songs in english though!

I'd like to think they would have created new lyrics like "Have a Heart." God, I love LOLITA!
